Hey Guys!
been swamped with work for two weeks, havnt been able to keep up…
The victor disc finds the band exploring the magical world of claves and accents within a master rhythm, I find it very clever in that aspect, its so subtle it might seem like theres nothing going on…
anybody else had a prob with the JOTD?
My uber 98 reba got cut off and then something else came on…never heard
the walk away…
If you download rather than stream, you can get Walk Away here:

(The “2-” is missing from the post, as a result, Limb X Limb from set 1 is in place of Walk Away by accident).
Winwood is a talented guy for sure, I just really like Dave Mason’s voice and writing
neat link @bhizzle
You could find lyrical and musical “quotes” of classic rock, jazz, and other stuff all throughout the Phish canon. They’ve never been shy to call on their influences.
That would be a neat course to take. Various musical genres as seen through the lens of Phish’s unique brand of improvisational rock.
Maybe a new genre of music “Influential Rock”

“I play a nice guy on TV but was born a troublemaker”
@MrC: So are we getting the nice guy on TV or the troublemaker? 🙂
Your Victor disc comments are inspiring me to give those tracks another try. Didn’t really dig it the first time around.

LOL at the Gordon meets Gordon articles. I always assumed Mike was being his usual wacky self by having a hyphenated web link.
@Jay
I took the bait. I replied to that bloated sack of wind’s post using his love of Elliot Smith against him. I then refreshed and saw he was blogging from Chicago yesterday. So, I felt the need to comment again…thusly:
**POST**
AQUAMAN has left a new comment on the post “Chicago!”:
God, I hope I find you in my fair city.
I’ll be the one following you blaring Phish music!!!
You won’t know it’s me at first….I’ll pick a track or two from Elliot Smith to lull you into a false sense of security and BLAM….DAVID BOWIE in yo face!!!
Later hater.
**post**
I know I am totally immature.
-Aquaman-
Miner, thanks again for this JOTD….I’ve been hung up on the whole 2nd set from the Greek today. Forgot how much I love Fall 98. Maybe some of the thickest soundscapes they produced came from this tour. This Reba is a perfect example (ween Wolfman’s obvious winner in this category). Even digging the Albuquerque. Always found it a bit of a downer that fall, but listening back they nail it. Place goes nuts for the Something encore.

There are the two scrips I made for mac users to go from Flac or SHN to iTunes saving you a few steps along the way. I’ll have a video up later showing how to use it.
Enjoy!
In the next few weeks I’m going to try and make one to name the files along the way.
I recall someone here wanting to distinguish original phish songs versus cover songs (yes, it can get tricky unless you’ve got your phish PhD).
This new site claims to list songs only written by phish:

@sumodie – on first listen I merely found it intriguing.
I’m liking parts of it a lot more this time around. Parts don’t work at all…but a lot of it does…though it’s subtle for sure. Mostly.
my bad on the Jotd walk away. Only have iPhone access and it’s not lrttimv me edit the file.I will fix tonight and repost asap
