Your Time Is Near, The Mission’s Clear

Aj Mathsay - Indio Part III

Aj Mathsay - Indio Part III

We are T-minus 36 hours and counting from blast off.  I, as I imagine many of you did, spent much of the last two days running around town getting last minute things for the biggest Phish party since the millennium. I have just put the final touches on things, packed the car, and am leaving in the morning. In fact, I’m probably on the road right now; gotta get down to SoCal before the World Series kicks off this evening. The waiting is over – the time is now!

Red Rocks and The Gorge are distant memories, and Phish is ready to put their next foot forward into the rest of their career. Phase one of the 3.0 era has ended, with nothing but continued musical evolution ahead. We are sure to hear new songs off Party Time, a release that has conveniently been pushed back beyond Halloween. And we are sure to catch a glimpse of where we might be headed. While all eyes fixate on Indio, fall tour will pop up soon after Festival 8’s final note. If the first half of this year was about getting their feet on the ground, it is now time again to see how high Phish can soar. It’s off to the races, and where we will wind up, nobody knows. But in the end, it’s all about the ride. Safe travels, folks. See you in Indio!

Let’s do this!

for those interested in catching some of game 3 of the WS in the Phish tent (or whatevs they’re calling it), it will be starting at 5:00pm Indio time, which should be right around when the daytime set ends! Good timing for Yanks/Phills fans.

  2. bearito Says:

Well, 8 is finally upon us. Working all day today should be interesting to say the least.

Hope to meet some of you weirdo’s out there on the polo grounds. I will also try and post some of the weekends spectacles and phenomenon’s that I’m sure to witness. Glad to hear sirius is broadcasting for all those who can’t make it.

Have fun and be safe everyone!

  3. BTB Says:

I’m thinking they open with Llama

“Should have just gone support group” = Classic.

  4. Neemor Says:

“I’ll be the one with a guacamole mustache and a wallet that says ‘Bad Motherfucker’”

    Have fun, guys!
    Hey non, long time.

this came up on the top of my school google account this morning:

Abraham Maslow – “If you only have a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail.”

  6. ColonelJoy Says:

Party Time has to be the opener

  7. Ocelot42 Says:

I’m just sitting at work listening to the Yes Album. I’m happy that it made it to the final 15 (at least), but unfortunately, I think this will be the last time I hear it this week. Whatever they play will be cool, though.

  8. SillyWilly Says:

Thanks to everyone who made us aware of the sirius free trial. I have been getting so sad that I won’t be able to make it to Indio. I am a poor starving law student in Madison, WI and so many people are coming up to me to tell me theyre leaving for Indio tonight or tomorrow. Have fun! and soak up every second of it.

  9. beepaphone Says:

agree 100% on the Party Time opener…but of course since thats what it has to be, they won’t open with it.

So anyone able to print their fall tickets from ticketmaster? I’m getting this on all my orders:

“Ticket delivery for this event will be delayed and should be available within 24 hours.”

Been a wee bit more than 24 hours by now

  10. Bapslap Says:

There was a bit of doubt yesterday about whether the Sirius simulcast was real, and it looks like it is…

Great news for all us chumps not able to join in the fun in person.

  11. Ocelot42 Says:

To rephrase from the Yes Album:

“I’ve seen all good people pack their bags this day.
Dissatisfied, I’m not on my way.”

Have fun out there. I’ll be very busy this weekend, so hopefully I won’t dwell too much on what I’m missing.

For the first time I am grateful for the picture that goes with the download of the day, it settled a longstanding dispute. I missed both the shows at sugarbush, (living overseas), but my wife went to both 94 and 95. We bought a cheapo ski condo in 2000 on the mountain where the shows were held and she and a bunch of freinds have insisted for years that it was at the other sugarbush mountain 5 miles away. I guess they were pretty spun if they cant remember which freakin hill they camped on for 4 days! Wish they would go back to the bush, but those days are long gone.

  13. albert walker Says:

very possible we will be hearing our first Loving Cup as meant to be

    with horns!

  14. beepaphone Says:

skiing / phish – these are a few of my favorite things…would of loved that Sugarbush scene…then again I was only 11 or 12 at the time.

  15. VTsnowboarder802 Says:

anyone else find today’s JOTD reba sloppy? or am i just perhaps bitter that I’m not going to the f8?

  16. halcyon Says:

thanks for the link sumodie … I will be listening to pts 2-4 tonite at work. That should make time fly for me.

  17. Neemor Says:

I consider it one of the classic Reba’s of all time.
I’ve come to grips with the fact that Treyzor flubs sometimes.

  18. albert walker Says:

    #line opener

Trey loves that shit, won’t be able to resist

  19. frankie Says:

ive been calling the party time opener for f8 since before I saw it at mpp.

that picture at sugarbush is bad ass. I hiked over camel’s hump when I did the long trail this summer. if I had known such a party was going on on that ski hill 14 years ago, I would have hiked that trail sooner.

  20. fat bastard Says:

man i love the opener talk! we’re close! gimme a julius somewhere late

  21. halcyon Says:

I can’t wait to leave this snowy weather in Co for some So Cal desert sun…..

I love winter and all, but this weather has me all the more excited to go.

  22. msbjivein Says:

I’m jealous of all the Phans that are making the Trip right now. I’ll be there in spirit thanks to SIRIUS!!!! Have Phun everyone!!!

  23. Neemor Says:

    Opens with DWD

  24. beepaphone Says:

hell yeah…gonna have to stay up late to hear ’em on EST but it will be worth it

  25. VTsnowboarder802 Says:

hmmm neemor, i’ll give it another go, but the jam section actually made me unhappy. there was some redemption at the end, but definitely didn’t find my groove there.
