The Return to the Big Stage

Here We Come...

MSG, Here We Come...

The time has come; tonight Phish will return to MSG for the first time since their first comeback on December 31, 2002. After an extensive year of playing, Phish’s calendar will come to an unquestionable climax in a  building they have historically owned. With thirteen shows in The Garden under their belt, the band returns to the arena at the tail end of their fall tour in a completely different place than ever before in their career. Phish have traditionally pushed themselves in the Garden, forming some of their career defining nights in the building. From their first appearance in ’94 and their epic New Year’s show in ’95, to the legendary New Year’s Runs of ’97 and ’98, MSG boasts arguably the most regal history of any Phish venue. And tonight the legacy continues…

I’m finally listening to the cover of “Golden Age”. I love the song, and was pumped when I heard about the cover, but I’m not sure about this one. I was thinking Mike would sing it falsetto, a la “Emotional Rescue”. The band is kickin’ though, sinister intro, chunky grooves. About to hit the jam. Up next: “7->Ghost”

Loved that jam. I definitely hope they play it again, especially if Trey polishes the vocals on it.

Well tonight was pretty good highlights being Light, Peaches, and a short albeit super funky Tweezer. Light was brilliant especially when Mike switched on the weird bass effects
