^ No problem. He won’t be upset.

I completely agree with you. The meetup brought this whole thing home for me too. Super cool to think of the social implications of this…the six degress aspect of it all is sometimes overwhelming.

It was the only way (for me) to let some ribbing loose, and have a more interesting engagement with folks on the board. I know you now, so I can totally see you chasing a gramma around, in a cartoonish kind of way. Hope that comes across in text, i know you’re not a cougar hunter…or are you?

  2. neemor Says:

I am definitely a cougar hunter.
I love (repeat) love older women.

This is not the first time you’ve mentioned the cartoon image…is that how I strike you or come across?

  3. PBS Says:

You have a bigger than life personality. That must be my way of describing it. Def not meant to be degrading. Just that you know how to have fun!

  4. neemor Says:

Interesting to know how I come across.
    Well, that’s me…no front.

That was such a cool week, can’t wait to do it again.

  5. butterflyeffect Says:

Tell us what you love about older women, Neemor.

  6. Mr.Miner Says:

@neemor re: appreciating the little things

that’s what scents and subtle sounds is all about – the fabric of life 🙂

  7. neemor Says:

They are aggressive for the most part, in a good way.
They know what they want, no games, no drama.
They know how to do the things they want and they know how to make everyone in the room feel good.
    I like it.
They know all of the secrets (read: Victoria’s Secret) and how to please a man.
All around, nothing but good experiences.
I like being attacked sometimes…it’s good for the ego.

  8. PBS Says:

You have to think too, that I met you at a bar, prior to a Phish show at MSG. The circumstances were certainly more grandiose than your average engagement. For example, very different from getting together over Thai at lunch. Both are cool are equally fun experiences.

But, I know from your online personality, that you’re more than the guy who wears the Antelope Jersey and goes bonkers in the arenas of New England and chases cougar tale.

Here’s to wishing you could send smoke through the board!

  9. neemor Says:

    Interesting, Miner.

    Such a good song.
Truly one of the songs played this Fall that made me think that someone is reading this board…
Pretty much every song we as a board showed interest in and expanded upon was played….
I frequently thought we were being rewarded for our thoughtful posting regarding the band and it’s catalog.

Wonder what your thoughts are on that subject?

Travel safely, BTW…lots of delays and difficult traveling once on the ground….take your time.

  10. Mr.Miner Says:

@bk if the next big jam vehicle is kdf, I’m hopping off 😉

that would be a miserable development IMO,

I think we’ve only scratched the surface of “Light” – MSG opened new doors the band is more than willing to step through.

We shall see. I also don’t think numberline reached any “perfect” potential in Chicago or SPAC. I also think the best has yet to come with that as well.

I’m off on a flight back to Cali. Later yallz

  11. neemor Says:

    Puff, puff give, my man!

My roommate is going to go acquire the most important ingredient right now…I should be ready in an hour or so.

  12. Mr.Miner Says:

Decided not to try and come east….see you guys in
    Miami! Enjoy the snow 🙂

  13. PBS Says:

    @neemor – word

  14. BrandonKayda Says:

Does anybody have any music/books they’d recommend. I am trying to think of stuff I may want for Christmas, so far I have:

    John Coltrane – Interstellar Space
John Coltrane – Live at the Vanguard Village
    The Beatles – Revolver
Medeski, Martin, and Wood – Tonic
Medeski, Martin, and Wood – Friday Afternoon in the Universe
Neil Young/Crazy Horse – Live at the Filmore
    Slaughterhouse Five

….you know what, I’ll do myself this time:

“Get the fuck out of here with your shitty Christmas list you brat, go listen to Nickelback and Lady Ggaga or whatever the fuck her name is. Enjoy! Douche”

  15. PBS Says:

My suggestion – “Duane Allman an anthology”

  16. neemor Says:

    Forget the books and music,

    Ask for underwear.

  17. Leo Weaver Says:

cyberball in full effect…shooting an AK while sipping a mix of Jamaican Highmtn and Mexican…quite a nice pairing.

@neemor…as pbs said, you are def more than your Antelope jersey. Having met you guys really does make a difference when reading and posting. To tide you over ’til the roomie gets back I’ll try this puff thru the intertubes thing again…

*go go gadget arm, reaches thru screen with full glass*

@bk…a couple of music book recs from the perspective of a guy who prefers art/pictures to words:
    – Blue Note Album Cover Art, The Ultimate Collection
    – Not Fade Away…it’s a book of rock and roll photos by Jim Marshall. He’s a photographer who’s career has paralleled those of some of RnR’s biggest names and its history. Photos range from Chubby Checker and Elvis Presley to the Beatles and the Stones to GD and ABB, etc, etc, etc. He includes little anecdotes about the photo that may include a story about the context of the photo (No coke left in Macon, Ga, for example). It’s a nice coffee-table book and has some amazing stuff. A great “picture book” for any music fan. I pull it out from time to time just to flip thru.

You should read some Samuel Beckett: Molloy, Malone Dies, The Unnameable—-Takes some getting used to, but definitely worth it.

Travels with Charley in Search of America by John Steinbeck
    Midnight’s Children by Salman Rushdie
Henderson, the Rain King by Saul Bellow
    White Noise by Don Delillo
In Watermelon Color by Richard Brautigan
One Flew Over the Cukoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey
You Shall Know Our Velocity by Dave Eggers
The Woman Warrior by Maxine Hong Kingston

The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien (hands down one of the most profound things ive ever read. its about vietnam and im getting chills thinking about it)

Ive got plenty more for you if youre ok with me geekin’ out.

And maybe an album: Bela Fleck-Live Art

  19. PBS Says:

@ BK – And anything by Chuck Palaniuk.

  20. SillyWilly Says:

I noticed you were up pretty early shovelling. i hope everything went well with the snow.

same goes to everyone else in the Northeast

  21. Mr. Palmer Says:

I was asking the other day about music books and was recommended:
    Miles Davis autobiography
    Phil Lesh autobiography
and one by Nick Mason about Pink Floyd.

  22. Mr. Palmer Says:

just finished shoveling here in N.Jersey. only got about 12 inches or so. Usually we get it a lot worse. Now time to get a little buzz and take the kids out back.

  23. SillyWilly Says:

    OHHHHH I know, BK,

for a good mix between art and words: Kesey’s Jail Journal (by Ken kesey). it has letters written between him and Jerry Garcia. Its very cool. It was all written while Kesey was in jail in 1968.

  24. neemor Says:

    Chuck P is the man.
    What PBS said.

  25. SillyWilly Says:

    Have fun, Mr. Palmer!

you should take them sledding. i know im supposed to be an adult now, but id kill to go sledding.
