    sorry about the sledding, sumodie.
winter without sledding is like…..cookies without milk. it just shouldnt happen.
    or sex without protection.
    or mike’s without weekapaug

or new years eve without phish! i like this one best.

  2. SillyWilly Says:

Under no circustances should you believe that the incense does in fact smell like gingerbread of any type including the burnt type.

There are some seriously funny kids on this site. Recommended reading = Every PhishThought thread ever.
Crucial FF semifinal soon, must get warmed up. Cue up PYITE.

  5. sumodie Says:

thanks, robear, for reminding me of phish.

im ready for any new song, heck any song, to take off into jam territory. i dont care if its kdf or not.

srsly, though, im loving Light and am willing to go on a much deeper ride w/ the boys at the helm. little surprised bdtnl didnt go out there this fall, heres hoping the band pushes it beyond the spac version in miami.

if i had to name a 3rd new song (off of joy) as a jam platform, my vote goes to 20 years later. did you catch that, gordo bell tech dude? pretty please?

I second the Ursula K. LeGuin recommendation from jay. Every word that woman writes is gold. If I were forced to pick a favorite writer, I think she’d be it.

Also, BK, you should ask for the new Miles Davis Columbia 70-disc box set. I’ll expect a full review by the end of the year.

let me know when the left bank wakes up. i’ve got my coffee, packing whats left of butters goodness and the clifford ball dvd is in my player. the snow outside looks awesome out my window. i almost need sunglasses indoors its so bright. cars look to be a little stuck right now but the walkways are all shoveled.

get this… i ordered a stout print last week. it came yesterday i guess, i found it in its tube with my name on it leaning against my trash cans about to be tossed when i went to take the trash out this morn. whoever did that needs a lesson in delivering mail to the owner, not the trash can. who would just assume its trash? i can take the extra 15 seconds to walk to my can from my front door, neighbors. oh nyc mail delivery and apartment neighbors.

  9. Mitch Says:

What’s new, kids? Just at work, with a cup of my dark, bitter God slash essence slash life companion. It feels like I’m still in bed. Spinning 12/4/09, getting Mazed thoroughly.

  14. Skyballs Saxscraper Says:

We are snow-less up north, oddly enough. Christmas may be a mix of white, brown, and green this year.

  15. sumodie Says:

some very heady HQ book recs to be found here today. lately i never seem to get beyond the New Yorker. and heres 2 more:

Mountains Beyond Mountains by Tracey Kidder. fascinating bio book on paul farmer, doctor who founded Partners in Health, which provides medical services in haiti. amazing man doing amazing work -talk about actualizing one’s dreams…

The Road by Cormac McCarthy. sparse prose about father & son surviving in post holocaust world.

  16. Mitch Says:

Here’s a thought: I’d like a doormat that says “If you tread in primal soup, please wipe it from your shoes”, does anyone do this?

  18. jay Says:

  24. BrandonKayda Says:

This Miami Piper is red hot

It’s strange how well Trey could rip on improv post-hiatus but couldn’t deliver the composed parts at all.

I hope Miami 09′ gets a Piper this good.
