Camel Walk has got to be a hard-ass song to play
yeah a lot of those little timed breaks
rhythm changes
kind of a lot of what has been giving them trouble in the Ghost sections
watching Star Trek seeing what the new Denon’s got for 5.1
neighbors upstairs must think there is an earthquake or nuclear explosion downstairs
Trey said himself that Phish will be around for as long as they can do it, and that is what I love most about this new era of Phish: They’re staying awhile. We will get our huge jams, and our mindfuck sets, and our Phishy zaniness. All in good time.
We, right now moving into 2010, get to see the band as they change and evolve, and that is a great thing. All we need to do is sit back and watch the magic happen
“The trick was to surrender to the flow…”
for me seeing some of the main runs
Hampton, Red Rocks, Indio
and about 10 others in between
the growth has been astonishing.
they have come further than I ever expected at this time
looking forward to how they close this one out.
have seen the most shows since 2000 and am glad to have them in my life.
just hang on and enjoy the ride
a sober Trey is a very creative, productive, driven force
think we are in for some big suprises in the years to come
had a little holiday jam w/ stupendous tonight and then ended up at a redneck karaoke bar in sarasota. Surrealtown for sure.. In the car the 11/23/97 gin was ragin along. No downtime here for sure, just phish kicking ass all over the place.
I’m gonna go w/ the party time on nye call and something like chalkdust or kill devil falls to open monday night.
@aw the twist from that 7/29/97 show – a little disoriented, somewhat all over the place but all together successful I think. Was there a storm coming through or something? THe audience tape gets a little phasey and the vibe gets pretty weird like the storm is swirling. I don’t know if it stands up to me to the biggest summer 97 stuff (went gin, raleigh dwd, atl ghost, etc) but it is probably one of the coolest twists I’ve heard until the fall versions that year.
Raliegh 97′ Taste is the ‘best ever’ IMO. Followed closely by the 12-30-97 Taste
werd brandon . the raleigh one is reference. Check out the aforementioned 7-29-97 – gets the second set treatment, high energy, some of that same theme from the 7-22-97. But no lightning bolt page solo ๐
Still never has been a “type 2” or “open jam” taste has there?
….12/31 is 3 sets….
Miami will slay…3 2-set shows, and then a 3-set blowout to end the year.
