heh, I thought the same thing @cow…almost included a few of yours and didn’t even get into summer…what a tasty year indeed ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. albert walker Says:

1999 saw a handful of shows I’ve been getting into on tape lately

The Target Center show is beautiful
thousands times better than my memories served

  3. sumodie Says:

    merry christmas, phishthoughts!

i framed the portland poster & gave it to my folks (their 2nd show). the nautical theme is a great match for them as they live on the maine coast (plus they loved the show).

enjoy the holidaze & safe travels.

  4. chefbradford Says:

Thanks, stitch, I’m about to play Party Time now.
Leo and AW, nice picks. Haven’t heard them all, but have heard enough to know they’re choice. 12/14/95 is outstanding, and 12/16/99 makes me go weak in the knees

sumodie, welcome. Very cool thing to do for your parents. I’ve brought my mom a few t-shirts, which she wears around the house, but my dad has an unreasonably biased, totally negative opinion of the band, so, no shirts for him. His loss ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. chefbradford Says:

Oh, and that Voter’s Choice show has the only version of Glide 2, I believe, and I’m still waiting for it to pop up as a breather in a smoking set, preferably Mikes>G2>Week. I think I mention this frequently

  6. chefbradford Says:

Or, to look good on paper, Mike’s>G2>H2>Week

  7. c0wfunk Says:

    97 –

2/17/97 amsterdam – dw/d >carini >taste >dw/d is an all time great. Also first performance of soul shakedown opens it up and a great bathtub in the first set.

3/1/97 – the slip stich and pass show

6/25/97 – dw/d>piper>dw/d>meatstick>mcgrupp and fishman doing cecelia in a hilarious fashion w/ “a towel” apparently. Also includes antelope greg dedication of antelope

7/1-2/97 – phish destroys amsterdam. Back of the worm shows. Must hear

7/9/97 – bela yem and pierre haagen daz fun

7/10/97 ghost > take me to the river > jam

7/21/97 wolfman’s > magilla and great bathtub in first set. Also multi instrument madness in theme w/ leroi moore

7/22/97 – you know this one

7/23/97 – Ghost!! Also yem > rocky mtn way > chalkdust w/ trey whispering lyrics

8/2-3/97 gorge – beautiful floating phish

    11/19/97 champaigne 2001 > wolfman’s >makisupa >taste second set, great tub> llama in first

11/21-22/97 hampton – you know ’em, you love ’em..

11/23/97 – best BEK, amazing bathtub>dwd>low rider>dwd bold as love second set

11/26/97 – only “type 2 open jam” char 0 and funky funky 2001>cities

the whole wooster run .. 11/28-29-30/97 each night has something great to offer..

    12/6/97 tweezer>izabella>twist>piper

    12/7/97 acdc>psycho killer>jesus left chi, wolfman>boogie on>reba

    12/11/97 drowned >roses are free> bbfcfm >ghost >dwd>jbgoode

12/12-13/97 .. great tour closing shows .. first night weird setlist, second set with maximum flow and jamstrosity, second night w/ the bring the dude weekapaug madness / funk start stop

So obviously I’m a big 97 fan and it was hard to parse it down. Could have easily said “entire fall tour” but this way was more fun ๐Ÿ˜‰

99 later after some muppet christmas carol ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Leo Weaver Says:

    ^some GREAT ’97 calls there

  9. chefbradford Says:

Damn, like I said before, there just isn’t enough time (or disk space) for Phish. That list looks incredibly tasty

  10. chefbradford Says:

Only thing missing is the Went

  11. chefbradford Says:

Hey is Muppet-Carol on TV? Only time I ever watched it, the gf at the time thought it would be fun to shoot Crown every time…something happened…hell…it happened often enough that we finished a fifth pretty quickly…we had fun, but I don’t remember the damn movie

  12. chefbradford Says:

I’m considering making a download purchase from LivePhish tonight, any suggestions?

  13. Mr.Miner Says:

    new or old?

  14. c0wfunk Says:

muppet carol is a dvd, not on tv right now..

yes, the went is missing, and very much recommended. At least hear the gin if nothing else.

  15. chefbradford Says:

that entire 2nd set, 2nd day, yo. But yeah, the Gin ๐Ÿ™‚

new or old, have many of both

  16. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

yo i got 2 extras for the 30th. anyone need them???

  17. chefbradford Says:

I mean, I need em, can’t use em

    F work

  18. Mr. Completely Says:

thanks for the recommendations! starting with 10/27/95, I remember you guys spinning that one recently.

Similar to Lycan, I only know ’95 from the LivePhish releases and Miner’s Picks from that year (which are epic)

Time to start listening to whole shows…I will cut and paste the big lists into my download list…

    thanks again!

  19. sumodie Says:

neil young’s live at massey hall (1971) & sugar mtn:live at canterbury (1968) are both amazing. highly recommended solo neil captured in intimate settings. so different from the fillmore crazy house live album.

  20. chefbradford Says:

I have a friend who sees Neil, Dylan, and anything else he can pretty much every year. Jealous! He gave me three tix to a Gov’t Mule Halloween show a few years back, he got them, something came up, couldn’t go. Would NOT take my money. Cool cat. An accountant, actually.

I’m familiar with a lot of Neil songs, but not albums. I did find a good, cheap vinyl copy of After the Gold Rush last year. Tasty

LOVE the “jam jelly sandwich” Down By the River, Phish & Neil, Farm-Aid ’98. That set’s kickin’, too.

I’m really enjoying “Party Time” right now. Interesting stuff. The ‘Splinters of Hail’ here is NOT what was posted on one of the official Phish MySpace pages awhile back. I think they got the track names mixed up or something.

The beginning of ‘Gone’ sounds like the studio intro that birthed ‘Light’, I like.

And who knew Mike was into electronica? Page, yeah, but Mike. Diggin’ it. Good times

  21. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

i never hear ‘rust never sleeps’ mentioned here

  22. chefbradford Says:

Killer album, DaNcInG. Hey Hey, My My. Nuff said

  23. chefbradford Says:

Anybody else think that ‘Most Events Aren’t Planned’, from Vida Blue’s first album, could make for a killer Phish jam?

  24. BrandonKayda Says:

    Revolver.

    Is.

    Insane.

I love thes backwards guitar/crazy psychedelic stuff they put in the album

How have I not heard this before

  25. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

    revolver? by the beatles?
