I love Matso’s story on that Metropolis show. Unforgivable memories! I’ve seen a countless number of shows at the Metropolis over the years and can’t imagine what it must have been seeing Phish there… Unfortunately, i was 13 years old at the time and no cool older brother that could have taken me… not sure if i would have been ready also…

I always wondered why Phish stopped playing Montreal after summer 1994. We’re so close to Burlington and they could still play here in theaters as they’re really not that known…

Would love to host a Montreal meet-up for the blackboard…

Canada better get some snow for the Winter Olympics

Can you re-post the F8 sndchk. link? I tried to download, but it failed.

  3. Frankie Says:

Yeah, here you talk about Phish and people think you’re talking about Fish, whatever that is… ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hey buddy! Just got some pictures from Mango of our NYC experience… some good ones! Expect mail!

    Here’s the 8 soundcheck: http://www.sendspace.com/file/6mpzui
Sorry it’s not tracked but you gotta listen to the whole thing anyway! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. whole tour! Says:

I told someone i went to see 4 nights of phish in miami…and they asked me what type of rod i like to use.

  5. whole tour! Says:

Totally serious…they had no clue there was a band called phish.
He thought i was into fishing.

  7. Frankie Says:

So, no snow in Whistler this year? Haven’t been in touch with the west coast weather… I just know my old ski town Fernie in BC has got the pow this year!

  8. Robear Says:

    re: The Beatles

Did they learn to play the different A-typical instruments on their albums, or did they bring in guests, or both?

  9. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

    there’s some snow up here

  10. Weekapaug Says:

Good morning everyone. All this Haiti news reminds me of Hurricane Katrina. I moved to New Orleans just a few weeks after to help with the relief effort. I made friends with people that were stuck on their roof tops for 4 days. That is both shocking and unacceptable in a country as developed as ours.

Anyone in the S.F. area going to make it to Furthur & Friends show they just booked on Phil’s 70th B-Day (3/12). This should be an awesome show! How about you, Mr. Miner. I know you live in the area, are you into the Dead?

  11. voopa Says:

And some people think we’re selfish when they discover that we’re childless by choice. We don’t live in Haiti of course, but our reasons are far from selfish.

    Love the White Album.

I’d like to see Phish in America’s Hat some time.

  12. Neemor Says:

Frankie is a charter member of C.A.P.
    Canadians who Appreciate Phish.
They meet by-quarterly to discuss things like how to get more Phish in-country.
They number only six, but what they lack in voices, they make up with ingenuity.
C.A.P. has been in the Canadian News for stringing a seventy-five foot tall sign from the Skylon Tower near Niagara Falls that simply said “Phish-Bring It North!”
To date, Phish has yet to play in Canada in the new millenium, although some considered the Coventry shows in 2004 a nod to Canada as it was seemingly within six walking miles of the Canadian border.

  13. Little Buddy Says:

Best wishes to your family, LJ. This must be very difficult for you…

“moving a reporter and camera crew in is easy. Thatโ€™s the equivalent of moving a single doctor and a nurse in with enough supplies to help about 10 people. Apples and oranges.”

I don’t want to get into a big debate here and I always respect your opinion, Mr. C, but lives are only saved one at a time. So, even if this was the case – and I think the NBC news crew is larger than the equivalent of one doctor, a nurse and supplies for ten people – one doctor would be more helpful than one reporter. Unless Brian Williams learns how to amputate a leg to prevent the onset of gangrene, his presence in Haiti is essentially useless. Just my $.02.

  14. Robear Says:

@dancing, I heard on ESPN that one of the resorts is temp. closed that was supposed to have some skiing and snowboard events.

@’paug, how to get tix for the Phil b-day show?

  15. cal Says:

Robear–George was the sitar man. Otherwise, I’d say George Martin generally brought in people who knew what they were doing for stuff other than guit/bass/keyb/drums.

  16. cal Says:

voopa–What on Earth could someone’s argument be that not having children is selfish???

  17. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

@robear by up here i just meant in canada in general (toronto)

  18. Frankie Says:

    Nice, Neemor! ๐Ÿ™‚
    Currently recruiting though…

We expect to reach the ground-breaking number of TEN members by the end of the year…

Last canadian Phish show: 7.6.00 Toronto, Reba opener! Check it out!

  19. Mr. Palmer Says:

@Frankie- thanks for the 8 soundcheck link. I’ve managed to miss this many times before. not this time.

  20. Weekapaug Says:

    re: Furthur
The night is billed as a performance by Furthur & Friends, who will deliver โ€œa rare important musical performance in celebration of Phil Leshโ€™s 70th Birthday.โ€ This says epic all over it! Special guests, maybe members of Phish!?

The GDTS Too mail order starts on Saturday morning, while a MusicToday online is set for Monday the 18th at 9 AM PT. The general public onsale will follow on Friday the 22nd at 10AM PT.

    You attended, I assume…

  24. Mr. Palmer Says:

sounds like its gonna be a great show @Week!

  25. Robear Says:

gotcha, @ dancin. I think BC and Calgary are low. The whole west coast is low on snow.

Thx. Cal. so G. Martin was the producer?

Voopa, some people r dimballs. Not much you can do but keep on keeping on in their presence.
