What show you listening to Lycan?
11.14.95
wow this is a sick fucking jam
yeah Fool
fucking insane for sure.
Looks like I need to grab it then, Stash->Manteca->Stash->Dog Faced Boy? NICE
There is a really good 40min Stash in 95′. Lemme find it
ok very hesitant to get back into the post GD project
discussion, but:
if you think you are the end all be all old school Dead Head cuz you
are 40 years old and saw the Dead in the 80’s think again
i actually live in the bay area and have seen most of these post
Jerry acts in their infancy stages
they have staged numerous “warm ups” for their tours at bars in Marin County, countless Warfield shows, BG Civic Center, Filmore, Kaiser, ect.
New Years runs, Mardi Gras shows, Valentines shows, Seva benefits, Berkeley Community Theatre, Greek Theatre, Fox Theatre in Oakland, Unbroken Chain benefit shows
whats my point?
that many, many of the surviving, old school (actually around in the 60’s and 70’s) , sixties something, original GD family members come out for these shows and enjoy the hell out of them
do they miss Jerry?
of course
@Lycan
Weird. That’s what I’m listening to & watching on DVD right now…
….I have that 11.14.95 Stash.
Hmm, I think my copy got pushed together so that the whole Stash sandwich is crunched into one song
its literally one of the most mind blowing jams i have heard
fucking awesome
wow so good, in to dog faced boy. is this a soundboard?
Looks like I’ll have to break it out then huh?
Trey has on a muscle shirt & striped pants. Nice look.
yeah
No muscle shirt for Mike though.
I gotta give AW some props for his steadfast opinion of ’95 being a pinnacle for Phish. I’ve always been partial to ’98 myself, but the more i go back and revisit ’95, the more i remember why i fell in love with this band. So sick!
Fishman is still in his grunge period.
What is this DVD you speak of Luther?
yeah i am starting to think that fate had me wait to listen to 95 heavily because then i would have hit the peak.. lol
maybe not, but this is some definite otherwordly godly improv
95 shows had great energy. IMO, Trey did most of the driving that year.
@Palmer
11-14-95. A friend gave it to me this past weekend.
Its not an official release though, is it?
The audio sounds like its an aud source. Some reverb, but sounds great.
It has livephish.com in the bottom right corner, so its got to be. Lots of camera angles. Lovin it!
oh i want that DVD
ok all…gotta run…work over…my middle son’s 5th bday dinner tonite…
think i’d mentioned that i used to manage this band God Street Wine in 91/92 when i was in my early 20s…anyway…my friend got this old footage of them from 1993 playing a secret show in an old dive we used to frequent in NYC called the nightingale bar.
they are for a very specific taste…but do yourself a favor and listen to 4:50-7:30 of this video to see what these guys were capable of….
