I thought it was worth the 25.00$ and the hour of my time. I asked him if he was going to do more dates for his book. He said he will be going to Burlington, Worcester, New York and Boston when the weather gets a little warmer. So you NE pholks keep an eye out.

  2. Gavinsdad Says:

@willowed: thx for the WC heads up. I’ll be certain to watch a bunch of that. In other soccer related news I’ll be at the Philadelphia unions home opener in April if anyone is down to go.

@el dude: thx for the PP perspective

@Miner: 10/21/94 sunrise fl would be a good’un if you’ve got. The notion

and on the subject of bb setlists…would be really amazing if the shows that are mentioned thruout the day could be recapped in some form or fashion. At least the top 3 mentions. That info makes this board real special for me.

  3. EL Duderino Says:

    @ Marshall

It was in this weekly music paper called the Independence which is like Chicago’s – Reader

WC 2002, sitting in line for Bonnaroo, tried to find the US Germany game on the radio. Only found it in Spanish.

Called my wife, gf at the time. She sat on the couch, instead of getting ready for work, giving us a play by play for an hour. She knew nothing about Soccer, but she did her best.

    I was hooked. (on her)

Can’t wait for 6/12. I will be hosting my quadrennial WC Brunch. Mimosas for the 10 a.m. matches, drunk before US/England.

  5. willowed Says:

If Rumors are true and coming from Miner, they probably are.

We will be having those Mimosas in Saratoga prior to an all out Phish throw down!

I alread have my room booked. The Spring Motel. 89.00 a night.

Jump on it. Minutes form the venue.

We’ll turn that place into a World Cup freak party!!

  6. SillyWilly Says:

I have to get to SPAC due to all these world cup/phish exchanges.

i don’t know much about soccer, but I love the world cup. one of the coolest phenomena in the world

that would be so cool to watch US v. England with you guys and then head to the show.

  7. Litteringand Says:

    @Type III
Have to agree with you about Stepan. I saw Rusted Root there when I was in High School and sound was terrible. The Morris Civic is probably the best place to see a show in South Bend, but because the city is in charge of it they never book anything worth going to ( minus Ump and some Dylan shows)

  8. BeantownBoy Says:

    6/12–SPAC, as mentioned by Minor?

While I certainly would love to see this come to fruition, I had only heard about the strong rumors for DC and Wrigley, did I miss something?

  9. BTB Says:

@Little Buddy – thanks for the link

@The Dude – Great job on the report. You going on Book Tour? Catching some Northeast signings?

@Neemor – Almost spit out some coffee on the “Is he a deuche”…hilarious!

if you live in The Bend, you may be interested in checking this out:

blog written by guys I went to ND with recounting the music scene of the 90s in South Bend. Most bands back then were more of the indie/punk variety (if I have to put a label on it) but this is the scene that eventually produced Umphrey’s Magee

also, have you been to the new performing arts center on campus? sound in there is perfect, though the performers they bring in tends towards the more conservative/traditional nature of things

  11. Leo Weaver Says:

wondering the same Beantown…hmmm…I thought I’d been keeping up pretty good…

  12. gratefulcub Says:

Just remember the day is about PHISH. That’s going to be a tough one. England is coming in playing some of the best football in the world. This might actually be their year, everything is clicking right now. They have multiple players up front and on the wings having breakout years and scoring goals at will. Their backline is suddenly suspect, but you have to expect Rio to get it together before the summer.

On the other hand, if we can find a way to get a point out of the match, we will be in great shape in the group.

    I will stop now.

  13. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

SPAC rumor was floated a while ago. Two nights in June IIRC

  14. SillyWilly Says:

youre right the new performing arts center is beautiful. one of the best additions to campus, so far, in my most humble of opinions.

  15. kenny powers Says:

    @ Lycan

thanks for the shout out re:

“@garret – that would be your boy Kenny P with the remaster”

and congrats on your band’s positive review!

  16. Mr. Palmer Says:

Market coming to its senses re: IPAD- Apple down $10 from yesterdays high. oops!

  17. BeantownBoy Says:

    @ Type–thanks!

So the only rumors at this point are for: DC, SPAC, and Wrigley?

Hoping that they return to Red Rocks as I’m thinking about making that the summer’s main vacation.

  18. SillyWilly Says:

how far in advance do you guys schedule?

Im trying to figure out what to do with 10 free days at the end of March and Im entertaining a “Tour of the South.”

Do you know if you’d be playing then?

  19. SillyWilly Says:

    @Bean town

Deer creek and Alpine, too. June 3/4 and 5/6 respectively.

  20. willowed Says:

From Miner’s Summer Tour Post? a few weeks back.

Of course these are rumors but I booked all my hotels based on Miner’s rumors and not one failed me.

89.00 a night prior to release of tour.

    230.00 a night after release.

Thus far, these are the dates being reported:

    6/3-4 Deer Creek
    6/5-6 Alpine
    6/11-12 SPAC

  21. Robear Says:

Next north east run should be smoking. They dropped the ball a bit when ending the summer tour up there last August. Trey remembers those things.

Parke Puterbaugh. Hate to judge an author by his name spelling, but why do I get the impression he didn’t have to work the lots to make $ and stay on tour.

Nice notion, re: the Haiti fundraiser. Something I can get behind. If only we could bottle some of the love from the shows and ship it down to the folks…

  22. Robear Says:

Great pt. regarding hotels, @ Willowed. They’re not like plane tix. You can cancel your res. up to the day of your stay, usually.

‘Crop dusting’ is now part of my vocab, so, well done!

  23. Litteringand Says:

    @Type III
    Thank for the link
I can remember sneaking into Mickey Bar when I was 16 to see Ump play. Brendan Bayliss went to Saint Joseph’s high and was only a couple of years older than me so it’s been pretty cool to see them grow. I would like to check out the new center on campus but in some instances they only allow students to go events.(it happened for a Mates of State concert). That type of stuff only adds to that “ND v South Bend” thing that I’m sure you know about. I am a “townie” by definition but alot of my friends went to ND

  24. Robear Says:

andy, or Litteringand, the link to your name is incomplete, doesn’t work

  25. Mr. Palmer Says:

@willowed- the Springs Motel in Saratoga is now booked for the 12th. i just checked online. cats out of bag, i guess
