as i said Meridian is nothing but an industrial town.. but you will be coming through it almost assuredly. From Meridian though you could follow us back down to Hattiesburg on Sunday. I will take you out to some places around here, and then you can continue on your way to NOLA or the Gulf Coast

@willowed- done and done. 2 nights $89 a night. why not. there is no downside. Just need Phish to confirm. Last year on of my friends got separated at SPAC and ended up all spun out roaming the Skidmore campus. He was not to happy upon finding his way back to the hotel 2 hours later. haha

  3. BeantownBoy Says:

@ sumodie: Yup, I’ve been to SPAC and that place definitely makes it a difficult adventure to find the car post show. One year years back one friend of our’s, who now is a married father of two great kids, was spun and literally needed to be given step-by-step directions (over the phone) for how to re-link back up with us. He got back to the car, after 90 minutes, and described, in detail, how he thought that he had been temporarily transported to the home of the ewooks (side note: I would have a similar experience, years later, when living in Robear’s part of the country; eating fungi; deep in the forests of SoHum–an experience that everyone should do at least once).

@ robear: “until a herd of wooks….”—classic, llfa.

  4. WHAT!WHAT! Says:

in fact, one car is still circling around upstate New York. I got a report from a source at Lake George saying they saw an unmanned 89 Plymouth Horizon with an Antelope sticker on it’s bumper circling a cul de sac. When someone tried to laso it, it sped off. Man, I miss that spunky little machine. Plus I still have a creedance tape in there I would love to have back.

  5. Robear Says:

    llfa@ WHAT!WHAT! 2 day

  6. BTB Says:

If these dates turn out to be true, what should the BTB do?

    DC/Alpine run or SPAC weekend.

I doubt I can get 2 fridays off it a row (only so many fake weddings you can go to right?). Have yet to see a show at SPAC, although I’ve heard it’s a must.

  7. willowed Says:

    Nice work Palmer!
You can’t beat 89.00 a night! I think it 1.8 miles from venue. Easy bike ride.

  8. whole tour! Says:

“we found the car…but there was no luck with the creedance”

  9. willowed Says:

@ BTB. You just answered your own question.

    Go with SPAC

  10. willowed Says:

If you find my brain up there put it aside for me.

I lost it in 2004 after the infamous Piper

  11. Mr. Palmer Says:

Hoping for better luck this summer re: weather. I got rained on at every show i went to: Fenway, JB, and spac. ughh

  12. Robear Says:

    We’re not obsessed fans.

We just make long term plans and reservations based on internet rumors.

    Nothing to see here.

  13. sumodie Says:

yup, them spac woods def full of roving tribes of ewoks & wookies post phish.

  14. ChefBradford Says:

Just read the CF write-up and…there it is again! Ecclesiastical!?

  15. Robear Says:

Mr. P, that deluge at the SPAC had us pretty close to a show cancellation.

BTB, if you go to SPAC, get pavilion seats. Or better yet, upper deck pavilion. The lawn is a cluster phuck. Come to think of it, the lower pavilion is near impossible to get in and out of once the music starts. The upper deck is where it’s at for this kid.

  16. Mr. Palmer Says:

llfa@Robear- so ridiculous isn’t it. If my wife only knew i ‘ve already mapped out her summer.

  17. Leo Weaver Says:

hmmm…I’m in the same boat as BTB here…SPAC or DC??? Never been to either one and neither one is exactly right around the corner for me…decisions decisions…

  18. Robear Says:

Dang. Rest in peace, Howard Zinn.

Thanks for your tireless efforts to shine a light.

  19. Robear Says:

Leo, put those below The Gorge, Red Rocks, and the southern swing on your list.

  20. willowed Says:

When I was booking my hotels, my wife was standing behind me just shaking her head.

She must have been thinking, you are such a jack ass.

She is such a good women to put up with my nonsense.

  21. Robear Says:

@ willowed, either that, or she was calculating in her head how much to spend on her next shopping trip.

Love starting schtick on ESPN boards. It’s been too long.

  22. Mr. Palmer Says:

Amen to that Willowed- behind every fanatical Phish fan, there is a____ women.

    fill in the blanks.

  23. Neemor Says:

    Slamming Primus’ ‘Antipop’ on
What a way to get the day underway….

  24. Neemor Says:

Hey Willowed, Toad’s tomorrow for Shakedown?
