I took the meaning of “ecclesiastical” in that context to mean “like going to the church of great music” rather than pertaining to church affairs. Kind of like going to a revival as opposed to a somber church gathering. The Book of Ecclesiastes is about adhering to God and foregoing worldly influences, so perhaps the person meant to imply that your music is in some sense “above” earthly influence?

    I’ve already moved on 🙂

Tip on Parking at SPAC. Get off of I-87 at Exit 13N and head up Route 9 North. Drive just past the entrance that everyone is using and park in the lot for the Park Police. It’s the very next left after the main entrance. Sounds like the worst idea ever, but you will quickly realize that it’s actually not. It’s easy in/easy out and I never saw a cop there anywhere pre and post-show. They are all down in the venue dealing with the herd. You have to cut across the golf course to walk into the venue and it’s an adventure to find your car post show (distance/lack of lighting/sprinklers on the fairways) but the reward is great for those that survive the mission at hand.

I’m not sure if anyone is familiar with the ’97 Jams compilations put out a few years ago. Basically its just the jams with the songs cut out, which means that each compilation is about 9 cd’s worth of pure Phish imrov in all its glory. Not the same as listening to a full show obviously but it makes a perfect soundtrack for my work day (and would probably be good for working out or running if I ever did anything of that nature). I’ve got the Phall ’97, the Summer ’97 and the Europe ’97 compilations on my Mediafire account if anyone wants to check them out. Just click on my name and it should take you there.

  16. verno329 Says:

no problemo…i’ve been listening to these off and on for about 4 years or so and they are spectacular. When all I want is Phish at their improv’ing phinest this is where I turn

  17. Phamily Berzerker Says:

    Perfecto, marco.

We pulled into the campground as it was going on.

    Thx for sharing.

  18. verno329 Says:

word @tele…3 nights at the gorge would certainly tilt the scales.

    love that shit

  22. Stupendous Says:

    Morning all:
A little late today. Johny Law got a hold of me this morning and greeted me with a nice speeding ticket, right in my neighborhood!
Did I hear someone say there was some late night event at 8? If so, this is news to me, would love to hear… The soundcheck’s Liquid Time>Lengthwise is very good and the starship trooper jam jaw dropping….carry on!

  23. beepaphone Says:

gotta love how Trey beat Jay-Z to calling out auto-tune.

  24. Phamily Berzerker Says:

Regarding Summer Tour, it is consiered ill-advised to miss Red Rocks. There is something ultra-special about Colorado and the band.

I have yet to see a show at the Gorge but good friends here are moving to Seattle to promotion-related and that would be an excellent way-station for a jaunt to the Gorge to partake in the JoD, per Señor C’s mandate.

Plus, Phish shows are better when I am in attendance! Fact.

  25. Chuck D Says:

Is that cool? Is that still cool?
