and she will probably get them into and out of a tight spot at some point

  2. Lycanthropist Says:

    haha @willowed

well i be a polar bear on an island

  3. willowed Says:

    @ Lycan

What do you think about my question above.
    Help me understand.
Last night Jack asked the aussie guy “Do I know you?”
Was he talking about the Island or the time they met when he was training for the boat race?
They had one of those flash backs in Season 2 (I think) where Jack met him.

  4. Lycanthropist Says:

jack bauer may come and whip your ass for crossin over

  5. willowed Says:

He already killed my Willow avatar

  6. Lycanthropist Says:

i think that is intentionally ambigious

there are a lot of subtle difference in the characters on this season’s Flight 815

For instance, Jacks hair is longer, he is much more agreeable, he only got one bottle of booze, Rose said his line to him, etc etc

Yet his dad was still dead.

So at this point we don’t know how much of these characters lives were altered by the explosion. So its possible that Jack and Desmond haven’t met in the real world in this reality.

But its possible that they still have. As far as Jack knowing him from the island. Its possible, and Jack is obviously sensing something bigger lurking in all of the 815 survivor’s subconcious.

  7. Lycanthropist Says:

the biggest mystery to me about the “alternate” Flight 815 is Desmond’s sudden disappearance from the plane

  8. willowed Says:

    Good explanation.

I was curious because he seemed to know Desmond but not Kate and the Black Lady and her husband.
I recall Jack meeting Desmond in season two (before the Island).
So I wondered where he was going with that question.

  9. willowed Says:

I agree, I wonder where he went? Maybe he grabbed the rock star kid and went to the belly of the plane to shoot up some junk!

  10. Lycanthropist Says:

I think Rose seemed to recognize him

and there seemed to be a subtle glimmer of recognition below the surface between jack and kate, and jack and charlie

  11. bhizzle Says:

my vote is for Jacob taken Sayid’s body…but I also think something is up due to when Sawyer made Miles talk to Juliet and Miles stated Juliet said “It worked”. Now that Miner brought up the Schrödinger’s cat paradox I am thinking that the people from the Flight 815 (?) need to pass through a gate opened by their death to get to them to “observe” the true reality.

  12. Mr. Palmer Says:

    thanks for your input Abe.

  13. Lycanthropist Says:

yeah it seems that death opens the door for a greater understanding and because there are doppelganger versions of everyone their soul is able to stay in our realm.

  14. Mr. Palmer Says:

    Where is Jack’s dad’s coffin?

  15. bhizzle Says:

what happened to Jack’s dad in the “normal” reality?

    oh….Kate is sooooooo hot….

  16. bhizzle Says:

I thought it was the body not the coffin

  17. ohhphee Says:

Hey, guys. I know I haven’t chimed in for a while, but I had to with this.

Okay. So, if “Mr. X”(Do we know his name?) is now Locke, and let’s just

entertain the notion for now that Jacob is Sayid, then who the hell is

now Christian? Is it also “Mr. X”? Or is some other yet-to-be-named

character inhabiting his body? My favorite quote, BTW… “Sorry you had to

    see me like that.”

  18. Mr. Palmer Says:

bhizzle- yes thats what i really meant. But i believe the whole thing ,coffin and body are missing.

  19. Mr. Palmer Says:

Christain= the man in black as well?

  20. ohhphee Says:

He’s got to be somebody other than his dead self. Nobody else fits in the equation that we’ve met.

  21. ohhphee Says:

    @Abe F.

Wasn’t asshole day yesterday? I must have missed the secret language.

  22. Mr. Palmer Says:

makes sense to me. Chritian told Locke “say hello to my son”.. If he was man in black he certainly had a vested interest in having them return to island.

  23. brendan Says:

Great first episode. I am excited to see that the sory now has 2 “strings” as Faraday calls them. up untilk 2004, all of the 815 survivors had the same past. They were born, they lived and eventualy took off on 815. But this is where the two strings separate. I think the two “strings” will converge. Notice that Juliet says “it worked” Since she was not on the plane her reality from the incident to the team ending up in 2007 is different than Jack, Kate, etc. With Juliet trapped under the wreckage of the swan station ( see desmond’s red bike) not the wreckage of the incident we are a future time. Indeed in one string the team prevented the incident which made Faradays plan come true and they landed at LAX. We will see this story unfold in 2004 as the team starts to meet each other (jack and Locke//Kate and Sawyer already have) and then they will end up on the island at the imploding swan station and end up doing everything we saw them do on he island last night in 2007.
In the other string the bomb did cause the incident so the plane crashed and everything we have seen so far in this series up until this season happened. The incident somehow also catapulted the team to 2007 to the swan site with Juliet trapped. She knows it worked because the Juliet that says that knows that the plane never crashed. This is the first time she has seen Sawyer since the incident. So now this group is in 2007 at the swan station and they will end up doing everything we saw them do on the island last night in 2007.
Both strings converge in 2007 in last nights episode. It always ends the same, everything else is just progress.
Random thought: did Desmond replace Christian on the plane?

  24. jay Says:

I also believe that jacob inhabits sayid now.

Who are these people at the temple? What is their relationship to the ‘Others’.
Who are they trying to warn with the flare launches?
What was the loophole that MrX exploited to kill jacob?
Seriously, would they really really send an agent/detective around the world to track down a woman that killed a redneck?
Why does hurley think he is the luckiest guy in the world now in the ‘plane does not crash’ reality?

  25. Lycanthropist Says:

    Mr. Black = Smokey

Since we now know this to be true we can think back on the previous seasons and perhaps make the conclusion that the Man in Black has some kind of connection with the dead.

He came to Eko as Yemi
He came to Jack and John as Christian

I think he is just able to use dead bodies to animate himself in a form other than smoke

and now he has a real living body to animate himself with in Locke because of whatever loophole he found
