LOST Discussion Thread:

In order to preserve everyone’s personal journey through the six seasons of LOST, I have created a specific post/thread to discuss this week’s episode. Keeping LOST discussion to this location will keep people who are behind from reading spoilers – because that is the worst. Please respect this and keep all show commentary in the previous post.

Jam of the Day:

2001 > Simple” 11.18.96 II

This is one of the first jammed out “2001’s,” coming before Trey began playing ’97 funk licks – a psychedelic combination. And the “Simple,” included on the extra disc of “Vegas ’96,” is simply sublime.

    @willowed
only difference is that many of the people at such dinner parties are just talking to hear themselves talk whereas I’d imagine Lost Thoughts has some good discussion going on.

  2. HarryHood Says:

So, I haven’t ventured over to the Lost thread because I would at some point like to catch up on the show. Who are we missing here?

    AW
    Mr C
    Neemor (was here, now missing)
    BTB (was here, now missing)

  3. Selector J Says:

    here’s a wook story:
leaving Alpine in 04 this jerk wook guy we knew was holding a paper plate with the words “NEED RIDE WEST”
we still laugh about that. it’s become our own little catch phrase.

  4. Selector J Says:

oh.. and if you are that jerk wook guy we know… sorry, but I stand by that statement.

  5. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

If you had to be a cereal, what cereal would you be and why?

    Hmmm… that’s a tough one.

I think I’d have to go with Golden Grahams:
    >Sneaky sugary but not so much that Mom wouldn’t buy it
    >Goes great with milk or on ice cream
    >Can be eaten dry as a snack
    >Tastes really good when mixed with peanut butter and powdered sugar to make “people food”.
    >addicting as crack

if you haven’t picked up the Wu-Tang vs. Beatles mashup (pretty sick) you can get it here (u need to sign up)

    http://www.teasearecords.net/wuvsbeatles.cfm

  7. Lycanthropist Says:

yeah that wu mash up is the shiznit

I would have to be Special K (last name is Kelly, and dammit Im special)

  8. Selector J Says:

    wow, TIII.
Never realized Golden Grahams was such a versatile cereal.

I’m kinda stumped. I can’t commit to one cereal.

  9. EL Duderino Says:

    Frosted Mini-Wheats

  10. Willowed Says:

I think I would go with Frosted Mini Wheats.
    you have the sugary goodness
you have the healthy wheat part
    crispy at the start
soft and mushy towards the end
the end of the box always gives you the yummy crumbs mixed with sugar
the wife loves when I cover her with them when we are about to……wait a second.
    I’ve said too much

  11. Willowed Says:

we are on the same page el dude

  12. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

    @lycan
plus, you’d confuse the wooks who were looking for… something else.

  13. Phamily Berzerker Says:

    Quite the schism.

I never watched that much tv to formulate a favorite, gotta watch show hierarchy, in my adult life. I get sucked into the Amazing Race though.

    This should be interesting.

  14. Stupendous Says:

    Colon Blow
just cause its funny to talk about poop
plus it would take like 20 or so bowls of rasin bran to
step up to the fiber power of the blow…

  15. Lycanthropist Says:

    ha ha Colon Blow

    that is hilarious Stup

  16. kenny powers Says:

llfa, colon blow. poop is funny.

  17. purplehumpbackwhale Says:

that simple is the best simple ever, hands down IMO. when i first heard it on the Road to Vega bonus disc, i almost pissed myself.

its on the list of jams i only let myself listen to once or twice a year so i dont ruin them.

  18. KWL Says:

@kp, don’t know if you caught my post last night, but thanks for all the work you have done on those remasters. Just digging into a couple, and they sound great

I have ridden the back of the worm. And it was good.

  19. Lycanthropist Says:

fwiw its a slow day all over the board (including LOST thread)

there is only about 4 people commenting over there.

  20. Phamily Berzerker Says:

    Amen on the Golden Grahams!

GanjaGoo Balls are better withem Golden Grahams

    Fact!

  21. Selector J Says:

    @ El Dude
by the way, thanks for the continued updates on Charlie Miller’s latest offerings. Like the D.O.C., no one can do it better.
Something tells me you’ve got a killer stereo set up at your pad with all these HQ recordings you’re pushing.

  22. kenny powers Says:

@ KWL thanks brah. That whole jam out of Cities is redonk. And that might be the slowest tempo’s Cities ever? Silly.

  23. Mr.Miner Says:

don’t sleep on the JotD…some seriously underrated ’96 heat in there…

  24. albert walker Says:

Downloaded 2 of the 99 3-piece TAB shows I saw last night

    Very impressed
Don’t think I’ve ever heard this stuff on tape

3 piece Will we go around in Circles = $$
Nothing like playing an organ led song without an organ

The acoustic 1st sets were snore fests but the electric stuff seems a lot hotter than I remember

Some very slick guitar work throughout

unfortuanately no AW will be the new norm
swamped at work and it will only keep getting worse
probably be stoppin in when I get back to the crib every day

    laterz

  25. albert walker Says:

damn I got sick of Simple in 96
    seemed like every night

there are some amazing, beautiful renditions though

    this one included
    very nice
