aw- been to the vic lately? the security was the worst i can ever remember at any show anywhere. they were like the SS. they all had their walkie talkies and chewing gum like soldiers waiting to shoot. i looked at one of them and told my buddy, “i think i know who’s holding the coke.” what a bunch of assholes. prob saw 8 people getting kicked out for smokin in my little section.

gotta go dig out the stubs….not sure i caught 3pc TAB in 99…think i picked up the tour after that and saw at least something from each tour since. only band i wasn’t really feeling was 70 volt. that really didn’t get me the way his other configurations did.

Listening to the 2000.07.04 Jibboo right now…incredible jam

  5. gavinsdad Says:

ps…doing a little “snowed in get organized” project here in my wife’s office which could take a nice chunk of the day…kids are, um, somewhere in my house…at least now i can play all of yesterdays music. i couldn’t put the phones on at work yesterday.

go here for possible LOST discussion –

  7. Lycanthropist Says:

any one know where to scoop up some HQ 2000 shows?

  8. Mr. Completely Says:

getting prepped for a Super Bowl gathering tomorrow that, while not truly large, is quite a big group relative to the size of our living room….should be interesting

wish y’all could send some of that snow out to us on the west coast

gonna be about 55 and sunny here…which is nice right now but we’ll be screwed in the summer, no water without a snowpack…oof

one funny thing about El Nino winters like this is all of the Oregon newbies for whom this is their first “rainy season” – they all are thinking right now that Oregonians are a bunch of liars or wimps or exaggerators…”hell this is nothin’, this is great weather”

same thing happened to me my first winter here…I thought all the above…then the next winter, rain started in September and lasted halfway through the following July (!) with massive floods in downtown Portland…still the worst I have seen out here

that’s why I don’t go out in Chicago
stopped being chill in the late 90’s

    it’s all about the brownies
that’s why me and my girl cook so much

I’m hopin the Riv will be more chill
I’ve heard it has loosend up lately cuz the bars are so empty in this economy they don’t want to discourage people from going out

Vic was always one of the worst

my crew will be rollin tough so I hope all goes well
would not be surprised if they are dicks though

The Charlie Rose interview is pretty good…sad but good. I was almost certain I wouldn’t see Phish play again after that interview, but the way he explained it made me feel “ok” about it, even if the reasons he gave were only some of the reasons the breakup happened. Thankfully all of that is in the past now and we have a revitalized Phish for years to come!

  11. Henry Says:

I actually downloaded and listened to that show last night, what an amazing Jibboo.

  12. Mr. Completely Says:

searching “2000” in “Phish” on the front page of etree gives a dozen or more hits from that year @lycan. the top of the results page is all stuff from ’09 (their search is overly broad, which is better than being too narrow) but the 2000’s are below.

There are a bunch with 1 or 2 seeders, those usually take a couple days to complete but are doable

  13. albert walker Says:

    1.Further On Up the Road
    2. First Tube
    3. Come on Baby Lets go Downtown
    4. Gotta Jiboo >
    5. Voodoo Child (slight return)
    6. Ooh Child
    7. Heavy Things

this little piece of 5/7/99 is quite nice

  14. Mr. Palmer Says:

Lycan- Kenny Powers had some nice remasters from the Deer Creek run in 2000. Moby Dick….. The PNC-Hartford run was pretty nice that summer as well.

  15. albert walker Says:

these kind of soft matrixes from Creek summer (7/10/00) on bt are pretty cool 2000 shows

I’m actually downloading them right now

  16. Mr. Completely Says:

@lycan, I really appreciated what you said yesterday about picking the actual “song-y songs” or whatever in the mixes…coming from you in particular that was very cool to hear…I put a lot of thought and work into those…it is one of my favorite ways to spend time, first listening to the shows and taking notes on standout versions of songs, then gathering the standouts into a playlist and listening to them head to head…it really puts a shine on the little nuances…an obsessive’s game to be sure, but then the result is a playlist that can’t be beat.

Anyway, great jams are easy to spot, but the difference between good and great versions of “first set” type songs isn’t always obvious…thanks for noticing

  17. Mr. Completely Says:

I liked the way Trey did Oooh Child

I mean, at first I was like WTF, that’s a song for serious vocalists, you don’t step to Nina fucking Simone unless you’re a real singer

    but it grew on me

@aw, that’s actually the only of the trio shows I have, I like it a lot too

I’ll have to bust it back out and give it a spin

  18. verno329 Says:

Man I loved when Trey was doing Voodoo Chile on that trio tour! Thats another one that was cool to see him have the confidence to attack that song fully. I may have to go back and add some more ’99 Trey onto an mp3 player. Thankfully I’ve got quite a few so I can find some room on one and fill it up quick.

  20. Mr. Palmer Says:

I really hope Ooh Child and Will it go round in Circles are in the mix this tour. Love those 2.

Mr. C, Life is crazy busy. I’m hardly ever awake past 9:30 anymore. Lately my kids have been tucking me in at night. I’ll be around later. My daughter has dance that I should be leaving for and I have a ton of errands to run. I can’t even relax on my days off. I should listen to some Frankie Says on the ride.

I came home yesterday to this huge case of Phish CD’s. Someone must have left it here. Live Phish, Albums, and some random shows. Until we figure out who it belongs to I’m going to enjoy some of the music. Who ever it belongs to has been missing it for a while. It was buried under a bunch of stuff in my basement.

  22. whole tour! Says:

come on baby lets go downtown!

  23. joe Says:

Not that anyone’s been waiting on the edge of their seat for my SuperBowl(tm) pick, but here it is:

Indy 35, NO 21. Indy with a crushing 4th quarter drive to put the game out of reach. (now let me go punch myself in the head a bunch of times since that will be more pleasant for me than watching the Colts win again)

  24. Lycanthropist Says:

    @Mr. C

    no worries man..
thank YOU for taking the time to put those time capsules together.

I have been very pleased with all your GD mixes and really like you What It Is! mix

you just have a great knack for fluid and complete playlists

  25. Mr. Completely Says:
