wow, I hadn’t really given 12/29/09 a proper listen front to back until today. Just really great playing all around. I had been away from 09 for a bit and this is as good as anything I’ve been listening to technically at least. Could there be more room to go way out. YES! and that’s why we should be foaming at the mouths waiting for this summer.

  2. neemor Says:

Kid is loving this ‘Roses’ right now.
    Fine, fine jam.

  3. KWL Says:

got a custom door with a broken lock, guy who put it in is riding his motorcycle up from taos to fix it today. Talk about a beautiful ride.

  4. fat bastard Says:

i gotta say that i don’t really dig the boogielope. first time i heard it it sounded unique, and if i were there I would’ve jammed to it. but shelve it IMO

  5. fat bastard Says:

now UIC 03? meatstick/antelope was beautiful…what do you call that one meatlope? it was from the show miner had up here about a week ago…raging

  6. lastwaltzer Says:

@fat bastard I think it thats what it was supposed to be a unique one off. We need more of that.

I have a confession to make……….. i still have only herd 12/30 from the miami run. got to get around to listening to these.

  7. Marshall Says:

What I hear in the opening of Antelope in the Boogielope version is the equivalent of shit-eating grins on all four of their faces.

  8. lastwaltzer Says:

@marshall thats what its all about

  9. neemor Says:

The entire Miami run is full of glistening gems, joe.
    You’re doing well to re-visit.

Robear, read the kids a story and ask them to recall details.
Works on their reading comprehension and keeps them ineterested and involved.
Put down a huge 6′ X 6′ paper ‘canvas’ on the floor and have them all grab crayons and create one giant mural together.
Teach them about team work, creativity and guarantee it would be fun.
Play the Lemonwheel Ambient Jam while this is happening, ending only when the music does.

Then give them each a chocolate milk and have them take a nap for the rest of the class.

    The End.

  10. fat bastard Says:

LW yeah i’m with ya..marshall how many hours of phish for you last week? I’m setting the over/under at 13.

  11. lastwaltzer Says:

I don’t know if that was directed at me or marshall but I’ve been taking it easy on the phish this week.1 Just a few jams here and there. I’ve been burnt out for a couple weeks, thus me still not having listened to miami.

For the past month I’ve really only listened to pre-2000

  12. lot rat Says:

when is trey gonna announce his west coast run?

    california dreamin tour

    3/6 San Diego
    3/7 LA

    3/8-3/11 Fillmore, SF
3/12 Off night (Phils 70th in SF)
    3/13 Montbleua Casino, Stareline, NV
    3/14 Chico, CA

    lets go red!

  13. joe Says:

@neemor, I’ve given the other shows the time to listen and love the 30th. just streamed the soundboard of 12/29 and am just really impressed by the playing and sound. still wish a few of the jams went out for a bit longer journey, but that’s really not what the 09 style was about. This is more like the perfected version of Phish that they had been working on all year. A nice summary to a the rebirth. (and yes, this is yesterday’s news to everyone but me)

  14. Marshall Says:

Seven sets from ’04 plus about another 30 minutes.

7 x 75 minute average plus extra half hour equals about 10 hours. All in the past few days really.

  15. sven Says:

    Thank you Mr. Miner!

  16. Marshall Says:

^ It’s been very cold and rainy here, and business is slow this time of year for me.

  17. Robear Says:

Spent some time on memory lane with Miner’s picks the last two weeks.

Spent this morning listening to 12/30/09 II.

Really excited about summer. This band rips, and the golden road lies ahead.

neemor, I caught that last night. Great visual reminder. That was a great, great show. Matty’s favorite of the tour.

My little man gets up around 3 a.m. most nights for a little while. Gives me a chance to catch the late night posts. FWIW, it helps me through a groggy time.

  18. lastwaltzer Says:

find any true gems in that slop yet?

  19. Marshall Says:

Is Phish sitting on a ton of professionally filmed/videotaped shows or what? That Roseland youtube video is clearly not a bootleg.

  20. lot rat Says:

    roseland=VH1 recording

  21. fat bastard Says:

marshall studying like its final’s week! Nice. Georgetown puttin a beatdown on ‘Nova. Miner’s gotta like that

  22. Marshall Says:

@ Lastwaltzer – actually yes. Taste closing set I and Gotta Jibboo, Twist opening set II of night two are very well played (referring to 4/16/04). And on night 3, the Pebbles and Marbles is worthy, and the YEM>Tweeprize is grade A.

From opening night of Keyspan, the Moma Dance is plenty heady.

  23. lastwaltzer Says:

@marshall they are most def. sitting on a ton of footage, I would imagine they have copies of most in house feeds from amphitheaters.

  24. Marshall Says:

^ No need to ever spin first night of Vegas ever again, though. Bag it and tag it.

  25. Willowed Says:

    Hey Marshal,

I think you will like the Chalkdust from Keyspan night 2 set II. If I remember, that was a jem!
