listening to TAB from last night…

Really diggin the tune, Case of Ice and Snow

  2. garretc Says:

Pregame TAB listening spurs IM basketball rout! Which was good and all, but I”m stoked to finish this show! Last Tube is currently being torn up like all gitout, that’s always nice…

Lycan, aren’t you supposed to be watching Lost or something? Isn’t that tonight?

  3. Lycanthropist Says:

    @garret

    yeah already watched it..

    it was on at 8

  4. garretc Says:

Ahh, gartcha… And I’ll bet your jonesin for the Lost thread to be posted huh?

Also, the “@garret” may have been semi-unnecessary, there’s nobody else here to be confused! Llfa

  5. Lycanthropist Says:

    true true

a bit of force of habit i suppose
    😉

  6. garretc Says:

    It happens…

Apropos of nothing but my own curiosity, how long have you been playing piano for? I dig the CF stuff you’ve been posting, btdubs!

  7. Lycanthropist Says:

    about 14 years

no lessons until very very recently (like two weeks ago) and it was more of a jazz clinic than a lesson

  9. Lycanthropist Says:

    sorry bout the double post…

    my computer is acting up

  10. garretc Says:

Nice! Yeah, one of my biggest regrets is quitting piano when I was 8ish… Being a typical kid I thought “laaaaame”, but once I actually started playing music I realized how awesome the piano is…

  11. Lycanthropist Says:

yeh im glad i stuck to it for sure.

  12. Lycanthropist Says:

glad you are diggin the CF man

quite enjoyed the trey show from last night. Love the girl harmonies on let me lie, great to hear tab classics mozambique, last tube, curlew’s call, night speaks, mr completely, push on .. all reenergized and shiny and new. Shine and Tuesday did well with horns added, goodbye head is also very cool with the horn section.

Love the new “sushi songs” and the whole idea of him and the dude of life multitracking at dinner. Beautiful.

Trey sounds energetic and thrilled. It’s cool for him to have his own band where he can play whatever with no expectations of phish songs.

Wish I was gonna make it to charlotte but Miami + 1000 car repair this week are making it pretty tough

  14. c0wfunk Says:

(above commetns are from the recording I wasn’t there)

  15. Lycanthropist Says:

    @c0w

funny i was just wondering that myself

  16. c0wfunk Says:

is that a trey or a ray?
    it’s a treyoraray

  17. garretc Says:

Man, the groove they drop into around 7:00ish into Mr. Completely is so dope! Too bad they went into the breakdown after just a couple minutes… Although the groove out of the breakdown is not too shabby either!

I must say, the only other time I’ve listened to any TAB was an ’03 download I grabbed at random cause I need to listen to some TAB and it was at the Warfield, my most visited concert venue, and at the time I wasn’t all that impressed… Maybe it was just that show, or that tour, or that lineup, or something, but I felt like the improv was too structured, like they practiced the songs saying “ok, you’ll solo for 8 choruses, and then I’ll go for 8, and then…”, which has its place, but this show from last night feels a lot jam-ier, so big ups to them on that!

  18. flarrdogg Says:

liquid time- 2 for 2- Sorry if I’m being redundant here, but Phish is going to absolutely crush that song this summer.

  19. She Divides Says:

    excellent show tonight!!!
I really wanted to hear liquid time, so that was great to get that again.
They rocked the classic TAB songs: push on through the day, night speaks, cayman review.

I really enjoyed show of life which I think debuted last night. I think this song has a future.

first tube was mindboggling. truly amazing. probably won’t feel the same on listening to the recording but it was pretty intense and awe-inspiring.

  20. Mr.Miner Says:

torrents and links will be posted Wednesday ASAP. West Coast time.

  21. Weekapaug Says:

Downloading the show now. Has anyone given this AKG 480/ck61 source a listen yet?

  22. Tenniru Says:

I desperately wish I had been at this show. I tried for tickets, and much like a good deal of Phish shows from last year, I wound up seeing a “sold out” screen less than a second after they went onsale. In retrospect that’s probably a good thing, because the blizzard we’re experiencing in the DC area has kept me totally pinned down; I was forced to miss the Residents on Sunday for the same reason.

  23. Mr.Miner Says:

unsure why this torrent is absolutely crawling. My apologies.

  24. stash Says:

don’t know if i’m just used to it. but my torrent for the 9:30 club show only took about 15 mins.

  25. stash Says:

although, there is an error message in my torrent screen that i have never seen before. something about not being able to find the file.
