The only truly memorable jam from the band’s lackluster Turkey Run in ’03.

Speaking of My Soul, Gavin did you check that Went one out?
Bought one of those giant Sammy Smith beers yesterday on impulse yesterday. Probably haven’t had one of those since the lots in ’94 or ’95. Drinking it now while cranking that evil ’94 Bowie Miner posted yesterday, i can’t help but feel a bit nostalgic with a touch of deja-vu.
The Bowie is crazy.
nut brown or oatmeal?
Actually its called Olde Brewery Pale Ale- i know its a wuss beer. I didn’t want to shock my sytem too much. 🙂
are you calling smith’s wuss beer or the pale ale?
pale ale. Nothing wussing about most of those brews.
starting to crank up 6.28.00. since my cpu has told me NO More Downloads. going w/ Phishows.com. sounds pretty good actually.
The Winter Welcome is my favorite flavor from S. Smith
the Gin from 6.28.00 is an absolute shredfest! Sickness.
@dude- all have to check that one out. never had it.
I’m picturing a group hug of phishhthoughts commenters happening right about now in CT as Trey breaks into the first tune of the night.
been talking a lot of brass lately with TAB tour underway
here is pic of Maceo Parker with his horn from Jam Cruise this year

Next 9 hours of music to be listened to:
12/31/99 for the first time.
Yee
Well that’s pretty cool… Neemsbane + Olympic short track speed skating on mute + SOAM = superb!
@ KWL … if you are on here… 2/23 st louis show, only 12 hrs from Denver…..
Hey boys. Just got back from the oakdale. what a treat!
garret… im sooooo jealous. 12 31 99 is just… an experience. make sure ur not interrupted or anything. theres so many points of interest in that show.
Yeah whale, I’m making the most of it! Just chillin all ‘baned out, watching the olympics on mute with my headphones up loud! There’s just so much IT all over this show!
Thanks for posting my Festival 8 video, Miner!
@lastwaltzer: thanks for the nudge. I realized that I actually had that show here on my iPhone (the majority of my stuff is on my work computer). So, that my soul was actually quite great (: eats some humble pie:). I still stand by my statement about the grating chorus but everything else about that version was drum tight. I really think it was bolstered by fish and then mike. Just wildly tight. And for all the detractors…I’ve got the phisshows radio version of the show and here on my headphones and iPhone it really sounds crisp as shit. I’ve mentioned that I’m nowhere near the audiophile that some of you are on here but this is tasty. Also, LW thanks for having me look into this show again. Totally reliving where I was this nite during the slave. I dug it that nite and I’m digging it again. Cheers.
^that’s the great went btw
Had a great time last night. Trey is really having a blast playing with this band and they sounded really tight and fluid. Some definite great peaks in there, jibboo and liquid time come to my mind, Sand also was a lot of fun. Can’t think of the name of the Trey songs I liked but he peaked out one tune late in the second set and I had a what song are we in moment, still can’t figure out what song it was.
My wife had blast at her first show, it went over reall well. She doesn’t think a complete nut anymore, just a partial nut.
Got to have some beers with Willowed, mfergie, neemor, sumodie, and T3. Great guys, some good music discussion.
To wrap it up a quick story. Neemor shows up at my house my house and was greeted by my bare assed 3 year old running around like a banjee, classic. On the drive up to the show a sun dog made an appearance for about 15 minutes, a pretty cool moment. Thanks Neemor for the ride.
Gavins dad, I love the pie, crum, and tasty words in your review. Time for breakfast!
One more tune worth noting was Drifting located mid set 2. It came as advertised, a real soaring piece that had a nice fluidity to it. On a personal note, the wife and I shared a moment together during that one as we both floated away to the sweet groove being laid down. Some non verbal marriage counselling for us last night.
If you haven’t watched that festval 8 viemo that Miner posted, do yourself a favor and head down recently memory lane.
@boghog: great review of your own over there on “reader reviews”. nice way to dip your toe in the pond!
