Jam of the Weekend:

Twist > Simple” 11.29.03 II

The only truly memorable jam from the band’s lackluster Turkey Run in ’03.

  1. KWL Says:

^wasn’t me, willowed, I asked for split recommendations this week and that was one of them. Don’t remember who it was…

haven’t actually gotten to that one yet, guess I know what I gotta do now.

  2. Willowed Says:

Well, thanks for asking the question. It lead me to the promised land of splits!

  3. neemor Says:

    I’m an idiot.
    I missed this Hood?
    Never leave a show early.

  4. Gratefulcub Says:

FWIW, I’m no expert, but I sampled both sources of Philly on etree, and came to the conclusion: six of one, half dozen of the other.

    Enjoy Neemor Tour fellas.

  5. Gratefulcub Says:

Seriously, have fun tonight Neemor, the peppadew doesn’t judge.

  6. Gratefulcub Says:

I’m in a time warp, all of my post happen 10 minutes before I hit submit.

  7. neemor Says:

    My apprentice last night:
    Divided Sky>Revival>Divided Sky
People, can you feel it? Love is in the air…

  8. Mr. Palmer Says:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vD707yyxBA

last night trey- push on till…..

  9. Robear Says:

AW’s vinyl mix feels like finding the world’s coolest radio station, one you never thought existed.

  10. TTE is my favorite song Says:

Okay…this is off topic, but does anyone remember the What’s the Use? that was played during the Summer of 1999 where the entire sky/clouds turned a bright red color. I just remember the sky getting more and more intense looking with each musical crescendo. It was really fucking great. It was either 7/7 or 7/12. My friend and I have a longstanding disagreement concerning where this occurred. I remember it happening on 7/7 in Charlotte, but he claims it was on 7/12 in Mansfield….any thoughts?

  11. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

nice palmer! that video is a good example of how happy trey was all night. huge grins and a lot of hop stepping

  12. Robear Says:

KWL, willowed, and other ‘Split’ heads:

    check out Laguna Seca Daze
    5/26?/94

    It’s in the archives.

  13. Mr.Miner Says:

@ TTE – 7/12 Mansfield. Split, What’s the Use. I’ll never forget it, that was some crazy stuff.

  14. jdub Says:

Always a good day when you have Trey jams to look forward to for the evening festivities.

Has Trey played Sultans of Swing before, love that song and the similarities to Liquid Time don’t seem so random now.

Neemor, joking aside, I am actually looking for a ride to Side Street. Due to child care issues the wife is going directly to the show and I don’t want to take two cars

  15. Willowed Says:

    jdub,
Where are you? I live in Hamden. Are you close?
    I can grab you

  16. sumodie Says:

    jdub: where do you live?

  17. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

they’ve definitely done sultans before. my wife was talking about it after the show last night and she knows trey band a lot better than I do

  18. TTE is my favorite song Says:

Indeed it was! I really thought that was in Charlotte for some reason, but I remember it now. They played that surreal Whats the Use and then dropped into SOAM. I think Split followed What’s the Use?? Anyway, a fine example of great interplay between weather and Phish.

  19. Willowed Says:

I think Trey played Sultans on 5/27/2003. I could be wrong

  20. Willowed Says:

But I am pretty sure I’m right

  21. jdub Says:

T3 – great to hear your making the trip down.

Willowed – that bit you played out with your wife this morning plays itself out in my household too often. I just tell her after the show I’ll reel it in a bit. She’s starting not to believe me. 4 months till summer should help in that department.

  22. Willowed Says:

My wifes a good soul. She bitches every once and a while but she lets me do my thing!
Let me know if you need a ride jdub

  23. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

time to get my self in gear. see you tonight, CT people

  24. jdub Says:

I live in a double wide down by the river.

    I’m in Chester

  25. Willowed Says:

Where the hell is Chester? I’ve never even heard of it before. Ithink that’s North of Hartford right?
Is anyone coming down from the MA. area (Sumo or Type III). They may be driving thru and can swing and grab you.
If not, I can run up there and run back.
    We’ll make it work!
