Jam of the Weekend:

Twist > Simple” 11.29.03 II

The only truly memorable jam from the band’s lackluster Turkey Run in ’03.

neemor – isn’t it Gloom Room? not blue room? im not positive, thats just how ive always sang along to it as… corect me if i’m wrong everyone

  3. (Formally Known As) BrandonKayda Says:

The zip file on 6.28.00 isn’t extracting through winrar for some reason. Can anybody help? I’ve never had a problem with this before

  4. purplehumpbackwhale Says:

lately ive been thinking a lot about how similar phish is to sports. my friends give me shit for knowing everything about phish, and for making sure i check live updates during shows… but then they do the same exact thing for the yankees or something.

its all so similar – you have a mbetter appreciation if you know the history and you know what’s expected of each player (or song). and if that player exceeds their expectations or the team works well as a whole, then theres a huge personal payoff for the fans. thats why sports fans keep watching night after night, and thats why we do what we do. it’s why “ESPN Classic” exists, and why etree and phishows and the Companion exist. and we’re all hoping this season will prove our team to grow as a whole.

now if i can just communicate that to my sports fanatic, non-phan friends without looking like more of a phish geek than they already think i am.

  5. neemor Says:

Promisticating the 11.26.94 JOTD Bowie now….
    Miner:
“Arguably, the most insane of all the colossal “Bowies” during Fall ‘94”

  6. neemor Says:

Purple, obviously I have an issue with lyrics.
    See neemor.

  7. Mr. Palmer Says:

blackboard- CT chapter in hyper-drive today. love it. enjoy tonight!

BK- i had same problem this am with both DLs using 7 zip. I thought it was on my end.

Anyone hava a successful DL on the weekend nuggets?

  8. purplehumpbackwhale Says:

why did my last comment get added in a totally diferent section than i posted it?

  9. Robear Says:

“Music is the one incorporeal entrance into the higher world of knowledge which comprehends mankind but which mankind cannot comprehend”

    -Beethoven

incorporeal = not composed of matter, having no material existence
    law having no physical existence

    relieved

  10. Robear Says:

as in I’m relieved. Someone finally puts IT into words.

  11. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

if the meet ups continue at this rate we really will need to form local chapters like a union or something:

    Blackboard Local 420
    Greater New England Chapter

  12. neemor Says:

Beethoven was a class act, all the way.

  13. lastwaltzer Says:

Hello everybody, just another shitty day at work.

  14. Robear Says:

    Blackboard Local 215
    Greater NorCal Chapter

  15. neemor Says:

    Morning, waltzer.

    NorCal Chapter is very active.
    Our Waterwheel arm.

  16. jdub Says:

I keep coming back to this Miami Ghost and it gets better every time. They are on fire from note one. Gordon and Fish lay drown a driving rythym that makes me want shake like a Mexican jumping bean during that auld Lang syne section, with Trey totally on point they come out of that jam with so much force it knocks you back and puts you in the dentist chair. My favorite phish from 09, without a doubt.

Got to get some house work done.

  17. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

NorCal Chapter is probably the founding chapter in terms of meet ups right? a lot of this seems to have really taken off with the Oasis. I know there were some small meet ups over the summer but it seems like that was the tipping point.

  18. neemor Says:

Going back through my worn-out Pharmers’ Almanac now (1998), revisiting some stuff that makes a lot more sense to me now.

Gem from an early PH newsletter:

“*Using an educated guess: Add the number of feet of power cords used in a Phish stage show to the weight of the Phish truck fully loaded with band end equipment. Divide this number by the shoe size of former lightman Tim “Timber Hole” Rogers plus the combined weight of the band members. Send all entries (and condolences to Marley, who recently was found with a BB bullett in her butt.) on a creative postcard to Phish Quiz 168 Weaver Lane, Winooski VT. 05404. Third prize is one Phish tee shirt. Second prize is one Phish tape. First prize is one Phish tee shirt and one Phish tape. Winners will be announced in next month’s newsletter. Good Luck.”

  19. neemor Says:

This Bowie just entered legendary status.
    My word.

Oasis was the first unofficial BBoard meet up.
    Robear.

  20. neemor Says:

    Vacuum in Bowie!

  21. neemor Says:

    This is crazy.
Mike just dropping single bent bombs over Fish’s droning vacuum.
    wow.

  22. neemor Says:

    At the 23 minute mark.
    Still about 10 to go.
I would be picking my face up off the concrete floor.
Noises I’ve never heard from this band before.
Not even sure if that was an instrument…

  23. purplehumpbackwhale Says:

neemor i had the luxury of having an 8-person apartment to myself last night while hearing that bowie for the first time, blasting it out of all of our living room speakers. so sick.

  24. neemor Says:

    It’s absolutely bonkers.
    Phish @ their Phinest.

  25. neemor Says:

    And I seldom “PH” things.
