  1. Mr.Miner Says:

    quite a bit to discuss….

  2. The Light Between Says:

The Oceanic Six ARE the Numbers…. That was a huge revelation. So does that mean that Desmond pushing the button is what pulled them there? And I really hope they tell us why Libby was in the nut house with Hurley. The show has gotten more and more off track, but it a way it still could all make sense i think.

  3. bright light Says:

looking for answers? you’ll find them on the walls of the cave (yet another lost-phish connection)…

  4. bright light Says:

great episode, i thought. though i’m curious why kate’s name wasn’t up there?

  5. Lycanthropist Says:

things i noticed on first watch:

    – Austen’s name missing from wall
    – Helen’s fingernails were black
    – Locke partners up with Ben instead of Jack in the ALT universe as well
    – The boy in the jungle is probably young Jacob

sure there is more but it is early 🙂

  6. AbePhroman Says:

    lost stinks

  7. ohhphee Says:

Boy, Locke sure does meet a lot of Losties in the ALT timeline.

Hurley sure seems to have his shit together.

    Rose is still dying.

Ben is,well, Ben. But he sure seems less manacing as a schoolteacher.

I agree that the boy is most likely Jacob – who else could he be?

Okay. Who owns this line more, Locke or MIB, “Don’t tell me what I CAN’T do”? Is this significant, or am I reading too much into it, I wonder?

  8. ohhphee Says:

    @abe

    ^So does neemsbane. mmmm….neemsbane

  9. MisterChristian Says:

testing to see if my work still blocks my posts….

  10. Bob Says:

I initially thought the boys was a young Jacob, but now I’m not sure. If he’s Jacob, why does he need a Candidate?

Didn’t Sawyer read aloud 5 names on the cave wall? I remember Sawyer, Jack, Locke, Hurley and Sun/Jin. There’s one more left, if IIRC. The remaining name could be Kate, Charlie, Claire.

  11. Bob Says:

Never mind my 2nd point. I forgot Sayid’s name was also on the wall.

  12. Phish...Yup Says:

Top 5 episode of Lost ever. Absolutely loved it.

  13. Lycanthropist Says:

I was thinking the boy could be Aaron… although the age seems a little off.

but the boy may be the true God of the island, the one who put the rules of the game in place?

  14. The Light Between Says:

Yeah. First I thought Jacob, and then Aaron. They are the two male characters with blonde hair. And I think Aaron was always kind of “The Chosen One”.

  15. snigglebeach Says:

    Best episode since Cabin Fever.

I am sure the writers wanted us to be thinking Aaron when we see the little boy. And i am not discounting that thought, but i think was an introduction to a third entity on the island.

Light vs. Dark obv. a big theme, but who is playing the game?? the whole “you broke the rules” makes me wonder. reminds me of Ben and Widmore. Glad to see Katey Segal back. She is awesome in everything she has ever done.

  16. The Light Between Says:

So I’ve only thought about it for about five minutes so far, but which LOST character would you say most resembles each memeber of Phish, either in personality or some element of their musical role in the band versus character role on the island.
The obvious one to me is Trey = Jack. Although Sawyer popped into my head too. But like Jack, Trey is pretty much always perceived as the leader, especially by those who are only casually acquanited with the group or show. They are both perhaps the most essential in their clan, but their biggest flaw can be that they often try to do too much because of it. Then there is the propensity toward alcohol and pain killers…
I haven’t really thought the rest through yet completely, but I think Mike is probably Locke, Fishman is probably Hurley. And Page might be Sun, in that he always appeared really clean-cut and nice, especially in the beginning, but as time went on it was revealed that their may be some secrets we still don’t know, and definitely some demons.

  17. DBomb Says:

Anyone with HD DVR able to read the other names on the cave wall. I couldnt make any of them out. I wonder if Sheppard is Christian, Claire or jack?

  18. Lycanthropist Says:

    @DBomb

I cant say I saw all of them.. but I can say that Littleton was on the wall and crossed out.. Littleton being Claire’s last name.

Claire never had the name Shepard attached to her.

  19. Lycanthropist Says:

i don’t know about which LOST character adds up with which Phish member

but I can say that Radzinzky looks an awful lot like Page

  20. bhizzle Says:

@ DBomb…I too was curious if the Sheppard would be considered all three; Jack, Christian or Claire.

I am asuming next week when the explanation episode, the repeat prior to broadcast of the new, will tell the inside joke.

Sawyer being saved on the ladder by fake Locke will make Sawyer trust fake Locke.

Still no sign of Widmore…Miner you said possibly dead. What makes you say that. He seemed way too important to leave his character behind.

Of the “canidates” left who will be the protector? Hurley is too nice. Sayid & Sawyer & Jin have evil histories. One of the Shepards? I say Claire.

  21. bhizzle Says:

Was Christian or Claire ever visited by Jacob prior to them landing on the island?

  22. Lycanthropist Says:

Claire is not a Sheppard.. yes she is of their blood, but names seem important and Sheppard is not hers.

If Widmore is dead, it is in the ALT reality not the original one.

Jin never killed anyone, even when he was supposed to he, spared their life.

Hurley is a good possibility I think.

And remember they said something about Frank Lapidus being a candidate.

  23. bhizzle Says:

Frank Lapidus cannot be the protector…He seems such a miniscule character.

  24. Lycanthropist Says:

    @bhizzle

I agree.. I am just sayin that he was regarded as a potential candidate by Ilana and her crew.

This whole candidate business can really open up a can of worms if you think about it too hard.

And we have to be wary of what Flocke says. He is speaking in the classic devil tongue. He is speaking often of how much better he would have handled things than Jacob. He is teasing people for their blind faith. He is offering inner most desires. These are trademark tools of the devil archetype.

So when he gives Sawyer the truth, I imagine he probably isn’t lying, but you can be sure he isn’t telling the whole truth either. The best liars use as much truth as possible to sell their lies. Case and point: Ben Linus.

  25. Jibler McJanks Says:

I am the only one who noted that Locke, or Flocke, is trying to con a conman??

Who better to see through Flocke’s con game than Sawyer? Especially after Richard gave him the head’s up on Flocke’s nature…..
