  1. Mr.Miner Says:

WOW! Best episode in a LONG TIME!

  2. Mr. Completely Says:

Absolutely agree. A+ kickass Lost at its best. Loved it.

  3. Mr.Miner Says:

I think Smokey and Sayid and everyone are free will and Jacob/Ben/Jack are the fate/belief guys following Jacob to their death…

  4. Mr.Miner Says:

    mind blowing TV

  5. Mr. Completely Says:

at this point i’m still kind of pinned back in my chair like the old school Maxell guy

  6. Mr.Miner Says:

    ^lol. exactly….may rewatch before bed….

  7. Mr.Miner Says:

Sayid v keamy pt 2 = epic…just knee jerk reactions right now…is Kate now on the Smokey side…

  8. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

really great, dark episode. I’m still not a huge fan of The Locke(ness?) Smoke Monster, but I understand that they are presenting him in opposition to the destined fate of jacob.

the biggest thing I took away from that episode is that unlike many others, sayid is the same person in both time lines (btw, I’m sure you all saw Jack walk past them in the hall when sayid went to the hospital). he’s the scorpion in the old adage. no matter who he tries to be it is in his nature to do the dirty work.

  9. Lycanthropist Says:

    wow great episode.

Leave it to Sayid to kick the action up.

And I absolutely loved seeing Keamy die again. How satisfying was that?

And the destruction of the temple was epic.

  10. ohhphee Says:

I know! I actually found myself uttering the words “Oh, hell no, you HAVE to shoot HIS ass.”

And I wonder if Claire is gonna try to kill Kate, or if Smokey has other plans for her. I mean, how the hell did Kate THINK Claire would react to “Oh, no, it’s okay. I’VE had your baby for the last 3 years?” Boy, she can be a bit thick sometimes.

  11. lycanthropist Says:

See i am really struggling with the whole kate aaron thing. No one has been straight up with claire and been like, hey you disappeared. We got rescued. Aaron is jacks nephew. Aaron is with your mom.

these are all things that i would think might be relevant to tell claire.

instead they, including kate, make it out like aaron was taken

  12. lycanthropist Says:

and i dont think kate is with smokey. I think she is just in the wrong place in the wrong time.

sayid was triggered into evil fairly quick. All flocke had to do was speak and the darkness that had been brewing in sayid was activated. seeing him walk out of the pond like that was nuts!

  13. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

I think kate doesn’t know where she should be. she’s an opportunist. I believe she’ll stay with Flocke until it isn’t advantageous for her anymore – or until she can figure out how to “save” Clare.

  14. lyleismo Says:

Kate will definitely stick around until either a) Claire chops her head off with an axe, b) Sawyer has a total change of heart and rescues her from Evil Incarnate, c) she realizes they’re all completely nuts and that she needs to just fend for herself or d) the Jack Shack opens its doors again.

It seems she no longer has a purpose, right?

  15. Halden Says:

    Too Good.

    Team Smokey is great!

  16. cwc Says:

a LOT went on in that ep. My wife called Jin in the meat locker. I thought it was going to be Sawyer.

Sounded like Dogen was beginning to question Jacob a bit also. Wonder why he was keeping MIB out. Not the ash.

  17. jay Says:

What the hell is the significance with the baseball? Keamy was about to kill Sayid when the baseball fell, Keamy turns his head and sees it rolling on t he floor and he stops. WTF?

  18. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

dogon told sayid his story about his life before coming to the island (right before sending him to try to kill MiB). basically, he went out drinking to celebrate some work success and then picked up his kid at baseball practice and got in an accident where his son died. the baseball is a reminder to him that he took another person’s life. I saw it as his way of keeping his personal evil in check. seems like he didn’t want to take another life after that had happened.

  19. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

oh, wait. I forgot an important thing. Dogon’s son would have died had Jacob not come and taken Dogon to the island in exchange for healing his son (who he’d never see again).

  20. jay Says:

thanks typeIII. I think I missed part of that conversation due to a distraction. I think I am going to re-watch this episode for sure.

  21. Mr. Completely Says:

“these are all things that i would think might be relevant to tell claire.”

yes, that was the only weak link for me. Great call lycan. It’s another unfortunate instance of one of the great Lost writers’ sins – having characters just not speak straightforwardly (or remain silent) when it’s in their interest to be plainspoken, in order to further the plot by setting up some misunderstanding that could be easily avoided.

  22. Mr. Completely Says:

bottom line of this episode was definitely: Sayid Jarrah is not a man to be fucked with regardless of his circumstances.

  23. Mr. Completely Says:

Last thought for this minute: the acting in that ep was insane. The little nuances and the big dramatic gestures. The insane smile on Sayid’s face when he was talking to Ben. The way Ben just backed away from him – thank goodness someone on this show can take a hint! And the way not-Locke looked at Kate. Just a tiny glance. He’s not buying that she’s on board either.

  24. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

even clare had a great turn this episode. totally different feel to her character vs. the previous one where she seemed out of it or something. when she was in the pit she was as lucid as we’ve probably ever seen her.

  25. Lycanthropist Says:

yeh i actually liked claires character a lot this episode, it was how people deal with her that i didnt like.

mib is shaping up to be a world class villain, nice job LOST writers.

Yeh facial expressions were huge in this episode. Even Keamy’s cameo featured some great dialogue between the two.

The action scenes were well done, and my god the music was chilling.

I am loving Fake Locke’s new theme. So heavy and dark.. And Claire’s demented lullabye over the shots of the Temple carnage.. Wow.

So I guess there is a reason they didn’t try very hard to get us invested in the temple others.

    my question is this

Where the hell are Sawyer, Richard and Jin during all this?
