Jam of the Day:

Mike’s > Horse > Silent” 10.29.96 II

This nugget of darkness finds Phish in Tallahassee, amidst their last set before Halloween ’96. Playing with Karl Perazzo, warming up for Remain In Light, the band sat into a thick “Houses In Motion” groove during “Mike’s” second jam.

right now I”m reading a brilliant book called “the crow road” by a scottish author named iain banks. Set in varying time scape of the 50s through 90s in scotland, narrated by a young, moody, twenty something who dabbles in various escapades.

I’m 150 pages in or so and thus far it is really good. Nice picture of various scottish dialects which is interesting to me as a scot myself. I even busted out my ferguson tartan tie for my traffic court appearance the other day ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. c0wfunk Says:

hm comment awaiting moderation I wonder what I said.

it’ll appear later but I mention a wonderful little scottish book I’m reading called the crow road by iain banks

  8. c0wfunk Says:

two moderated comments. Let me try something more simple.

  9. c0wfunk Says:

iain banks? crow road? scottish? What is the moderated term here I wonder

  10. c0wfunk Says:

random words may appear as I try and figure what I’m saying that is wrong.

    crow road

  11. c0wfunk Says:

    iain banks

  12. Mr. Palmer Says:

    Morning folks,

Hope all is well. finally emerging from my guinness and budweiser fog. Had a blast at the BE tourney yesterday. Neemor reminded me about Verno’s dvds, damn! i forget to check my mail yesterday. It’s probably sitting there all lonely.

Note to self: when the 1st thing you put in your body is a Guinness at 11:30 am, it does not bode well for the rest of your day.

  13. c0wfunk Says:

    banks

  14. c0wfunk Says:

    weird. the word

    b a n k s

elicits a moderated comment wonder why

  15. c0wfunk Says:

original comment before that nonsense above:

right now Iโ€m reading a brilliant book called โ€œthe crow roadโ€ by a scottish author named iain b-a-n-k-s. Set in varying time scape of the 50s through 90s in scotland, narrated by a young, moody, twenty something who dabbles in various escapades.

    @Mr P

Thats awesome, too bad Marquette took it to your boys

I think my dad is heading up today, said he was bored so he was gonna head up to MSG and see his boys of the Orange tear it up

  17. Stupendous Says:

    because w a x b a n k s was banned from the board for some reason?

  18. mrfergie Says:

cOwfunk – my long lost brother, I also have a ferguson tartan tie that I occasionally bust out!

  19. gratefulcub Says:

Trey is to Lionel Messi what Mike is to Xavi

As in, Trey/Messiah is the electric guy up front with world class skills that lights up the stadium, while Mike/Xavi lays back and orchestrates with subtle brilliance. While everyone is watching Messi, they fail to realize Xavi is the greatest player in the world. That is, until he threads a needle from 40 yards out and Lionel finds a ball on his foot one on one with a helpless keeper.

Mike as Xavi 8) My world will never be the same.

  20. c0wfunk Says:

ahhh ole wax maybe that is it good call

mrfergie my grandfather was a ferguson geniologist and would rock the kilt when he’d bring us to the scottish games and the like .. I’m really only about 1/4 scotch (half italian – the halves occasionally fight ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) but it’s my name ..

  21. Mr. Palmer Says:

@marcoesq- yeah, that was a game St.john’s could have stolen. All reports here in the NY media are saying Roberts will be canned as head coach. With Seth greenberg from Va Tech as most likely successor. So all is not lost.

  22. c0wfunk Says:

ahhh ole w-a-x maybe that is it good call .. that must be it because the word w-a-x got the mod too..

All this Irish lit talk and no mention of Finnegan’s Wake, one of the few books I read in HS and didn’t use Cliff’s Notes

  24. gratefulcub Says:

    Cow,

I was all confused last week because Miner wouldn’t let me go all w-a-x-ing nostalgic.

  25. mrfergie Says:

c0wfunk – I’m -a little scotch, a little dutch, a little welsh, and a little french – like you my last name is ferguson, and my grandparents were pretty into it so that’s how I identify
