As Mike wraps up his eight-show mini tour this weekend, let’s turn our attention to the few recordings that have been posted. Along with the tour opener, these are the only shows that have surfaced on line for now. I haven’t gotten a chance to listen to these yet, but reports from the road have been glowing. If you haven’t had a chance to check out Mike’s band, grab these for your weekend enjoyment! If you do get to see a show and would like to write a reader review, send your piece to mrminer@phishthoughts.com.

if you get in the delorean for that cub, you can come to the big nitrous tank party we had after. We’ll all be wondering who the old dude from Kentucky is but our mindset at the time would be open to the concept of time travel – but maybe not internet comment section message boards

wish i was driving to festival 9 right now…

  4. joe Says:

general rule of thumb for me is like 4 and a half hours or so to see a show. being in massachusetts that covers a lot of the old northeast stomping grounds. Used to do the round trips (no pun intended) in my younger days. Now I have to stay the night. Too much to lose and too many policemen lurking about

  11. (Formally Known As) BrandonKayda Says:

I’m liking the two Merriweather dates, especially because the timing is just about perfect seeing as my birthday is in that week.

I might be able to make those happen with some luck + convincing my dad to go. 🙂

    Let’s do this

  12. Carl Says:

    yeah. opening at Deer Creek

  13. Mr.Palmer Says:

i guess we know what BK is asking for on his Birthday! 🙂 start the kissing up now. Good luck. Hope you make it.

Ok. I enjoy getting baned, I do. Not as much as I used to, but I do occasionally like to light up. My roommate on the other hand, is the type of college kid who wakes up. And smokes. And smokes. And smokes. All fucking day. Fine, I don’t usually care.

Well. I’m sitting in my room, reading. I smell smoke. Not bane smoke. Smoke smoke. The smoke you get when something is fucking on fire. I open my door, the house is full of it. My roommate is passed out on his bed. He’s been smoking all goddamn day. I go into the kitchen. There’s a motherfucking corn dog on fire in the fucking microwave. He stuck it in, started it, forgot about it, passed the fuck out. Almost burned down the fucking house

I need a drink and a fucking bowl

  15. butter Says:

^^when keeping it baned goes wrong

  16. halcyon Says:

    Chef….you need a new roomate 😉

  17. ChefBradford Says:

    You got that right buddy!

  18. Carl Says:

Been there. Baught a fire extinguisher because it. Had a roomate that would pass out with a toombstone pizza in the oven at least once every two weeks. Scary. But I can’t say I’ve never done it.

  19. (Formally Known As) BrandonKayda Says:

    Sorry about that Chef

  20. halcyon Says:

Last Night we had a Latin Jazz / Puerto Rican dinner for friends. Here is the recipe we had for the meat eaters. If you do not eat meat you do not have to put it in. It was so good I thought I would share.

    Pollo Estofado (Smothered Chicken)

    A. 4 pound dressed weight whole chicken cut into serving pieces or 4 pounds large chicken pieces.

    B. 1 can (8oz) tomato sauce
    5 tsp salt
    1 cup olive oil
    1/4 cup vinegar
    12 olives stuffed with pimientos
    1tsp capers
12 cloves garlic peeled and crushed
    1 onion peeled and sliced
    2 pounds potatoes cubed
1 cup sweet white whine or dry sherry

    1. Wash chicken and place in heavy kettle (we used cast iron)
    2. Bring to a boil over high heat, reduce to moderate, cover, boil for 1 hour
    3. Uncover and boil for 30 more minutes or until chicken is done and sauce thickens to taste

I don’t eat meat that often, however the chicken was so soft, just peeled of the bone with ease. It was amazing. Vegetarians/vegans can either not put in chicken, or add tempeh, this can also work with a cod, or other whitefish. When I do it again I will not add as much salt due to the vinegar, capers, and olives.

  21. halcyon Says:

I should add the potatoes, chicken, and wine were all local to Colorado, 60 – 120 miles away. 🙂

  22. Marshall Says:

the best roommate is NO roommate

  23. ChefBradford Says:

That sounds like a massive and delicious meal

  24. Carl Says:

    agreed

  25. ChefBradford Says:

I agree for sure, Marshall. I just got put in situation last year where I had to do something in a hurry, and this popped up. Great location, too
