As Mike wraps up his eight-show mini tour this weekend, let’s turn our attention to the few recordings that have been posted. Along with the tour opener, these are the only shows that have surfaced on line for now. I haven’t gotten a chance to listen to these yet, but reports from the road have been glowing. If you haven’t had a chance to check out Mike’s band, grab these for your weekend enjoyment! If you do get to see a show and would like to write a reader review, send your piece to mrminer@phishthoughts.com.

    My mouth is watering

  2. Marshall Says:

halcyon, uncle eb, and lycan need to be the cooks for the first BB thanksgiving meal (and chef bradford if you are really a chef).

  3. Tzara's Ghost Says:

    I’ll bring the wine.

  4. (Formally Known As) BrandonKayda Says:

Hey guys in case you missed it I posted a source for the new 2010.03.12 (Phil’s 70th Birthday) Furthur show on page 25 if anyone wants to check it out.

  5. ChefBradford Says:

I’ve explained before, I’ll do it again. Never been to culinary school, but I run the kitchen at a Creole style restaurant in Louisiana. The handle was just what I came up with when I finally started posting here. Technically I am either a sous-chef or head chef, depending on your point of view. Mostly I call myself a cook

    never meant to lead astray

  6. Marshall Says:

sounds like a chef to me.

I just wasn’t first hand aware.

  7. Foul_Domain Says:

    Doobie time sucka

  8. butter Says:

    nice Halcyon

gotta love this place, cut and pasted that to a sticky note

  9. butter Says:

have you listened to it yet @BK

  10. Marshall Says:

@ Butter – have you watched/listened to the IT DVD on your system yet? I mention IT because it’s the only one of the Phish DVDs that is widescreen, so it presents better than the others (IMO).

  11. ChefBradford Says:

It’s all good, don’t mind explaining at all. After thinking about it, it seems like I could more properly be called head chef if I owned the restaurant (I hope to eventually at least buy in to it. Them, actually, right next to each other).

It’s an amazingly sweet gig. I usually enjoy what I do, I get paid pretty well for it, and I get to hang on to my youth a bit because I work with college kids.

A downside, though, is that I get to work with college kids 🙂

  12. Lycanthropist Says:

    @cal

if you are still out there.. i might suggest 10/24/09 as your next CF listen, actually has a Nirvana cover in the set.

    @chef

damn i would be livid as hell!

  13. Marshall Says:

For the record, I wasn’t really “questioning” whether you were “legitimate.” For all I knew your screen name had no bearing on food and cooking.

I know that Uncle Eb cooks because I’ve met him. I’m pretty sure I remember Lycan saying he cooks cakes or does something in a restaurant (maybe I’m way off here). And Halcyon just dropped that dope recipe on the previous page.

  14. Gavinsdad Says:

@marshall: do you reco any of the other official phish DVD releases? I wanted to get walnut creek but now that you mentioned that it might not be widescreen that gives me pause. I’ve skipped the NYC nye 95 because I know the recordings of that show so well. I’ve heard many a good thing about the Ball DVDs. And finally I own the phish in Vegas DVD, which I’m fine with.

  15. butter Says:

haven’t checked IT out yet on the new system

this soundboard audio from verno’s 03 cincy is killing

some very unispired vocals from trey during this set 2 cavern
he seems pumped when he steps back from the mic and starts to shred

  16. butter Says:

GD run and grab the ball

  17. Foul_Domain Says:

    Clifford Ball DVD’s are sweeeeet.

  18. butter Says:

so showing my daughter my signed poster (Phil and Bob) from Phil’s 70th, she says:

“is it signed by the main singer who is supposed to be Jerry but he’s not cuz Jerry’s dead”

  19. Marshall Says:

IT and Brooklyn are widescreen and both great. Clifford Ball is great, but back in 1997 nothing was widescreen. The music on CB is great though.

Live in Vegas is pretty grainy as I believe it was originally captured for an internet stream, so they weren’t concerned with how high quality the video is. But it’s still a good show (plus its the odd stage lineup w/ Trey on far right).

Walnut Creek is the video that was displayed on the screen as the show (for the lawn audience). It’s my least favorite because it wasn’t professionally produced. Again, the music is great though.

What am I forgetting … I feel like there’s one more out there.

  20. Marshall Says:

@ Butter – sounds like she’s smarter than Vanna.

  21. Marshall Says:

G-Diddy – I scored Live in Brooklyn (Keyspan) DVD for $5 (new) from Amazon. I think the key is to check that site from time to time as some retailers have Phish DVDs they are stuck with and just want to get rid of.

  22. Gavinsdad Says:

Word butter and foul_d. I’ve been listening to the ball so much lately I should also go back to “see” what I missed. What I mean is that I was there, but I was out at a stack in the field dancing, never really even saw the band. I remember some cirque de soleil type women on the stage and the ben and Jerry thing but overall was just raging far from the stage. Will grab that box set. Thx again

  23. Foul_Domain Says:

Disc 5 of CB might be my favorite set of Phish ever.

    The Curtain
    Runaway Jim
    Its Ice
    Brother
    Fluffhead
    Antelope
    Golgi
    Slave

    Cant get enough

  24. butter Says:

wife just informed my she would like me to go to our friends wedding with her 7/4….and she is from ATL, we would have a free place to stay, see all her old friends, and come rage with the southern syndicate BBer’s

looks like i should go quietly on this one, but damn tour closer on July 4th

  25. Gavinsdad Says:

Thank you Marshall as well. I need to go back and re-read your coney reviews. I was at both of them too and would be really interested to see and hear what those shows were all about. I’ve never heard them. I def remember those camera booms moving around. I was down at the back of the floor page/3rd base side. Fun, wet times.
