  6. Angryjoggerz Says:

Further evidence that they played HYHU at every show in 1993.

  7. ChefBradford Says:

purple- that chunk is from the My Left Toe from 7/21/99. I love that mix by Miner, and I love that My Left Toe. Fantastic

All of his DJ mixes deserve a listen, but that is the one I go back to the most, followed by the Tweezer mix

  10. Willowed Says:

Bose Ipod player is outside. Ipod is qued on 8/14/2009. Flip Flops are on. Steaks are marinating. Beers are on ice. 72 degrees today!
I feel like Ice Cube…Today is going to be a good day!

  11. Dr. Pronoia Says:

^^ Enjoy, Willowed. Sounds like a glorious day

  12. ohhphee Says:

Good morning, Willowed and Dr. P, and anyone else out there this fine snowy morning (in Chicago, at least).

I love “Adventures in the Freezer.”

  13. Mr.Palmer Says:

Nice willowed! My future looks identical i think. First got to go register daughter for soccer. Epic weather here in NJ. Time to put the winter crap in the attic. Shorts season is in.

  14. EL Duderino Says:

    Morning Fellas 🙂

    First day of Spring

It’s gonna be 78 today here in Raleigh, NC.

Everybody have a very happy Vernal Equinox!

For all you BBer’s with kids.

Isn’t today the day when you can balance an egg on it’s end???

  15. ChefBradford Says:

Sounds like we all have a good Saturday lined up. I’m at work for a few hours prepping, then we’ve got a restaurant ‘alumni’ softball game (if it doesn’t rain too much), then drinks and food tonight with old friends.

    It is a good day

  16. EL Duderino Says:

The only thing I don’t miss about Chicago are the winters and how they linger forever. The nice weather doesn’t happen until May.

  17. nonoyolker Says:

Haven’t posted in a bit. Been busier than a cook at fat camp.

Our days are shaping up to be very similiar Willowed. Woke up feeling only 75% as hungover as I anticipated when I fell asleep (“Did you fall asleep, or did you pass out?” – HAHAHA, SHUT UP!”) Friend is hosting a BBQ. Going to get the marinade going for some steak tips in T- 20 min. Have Deer Creek ’03 on spin. Going to be a great day…

Ohhphee, was in Chicago all week for work and it was gorgeous. 70 and sunny. Your getting snow?!? Already a bute up here in Boston Clarke

Time to throw on a flip flop. Time to huck a bee. The time has come to be alive again! May your cup be full and your hangovers sparse. Enjoy the day!

Week Ending March 14, 2010: Hendrix Tops Elvis
Posted Wed Mar 17, 2010 1:12pm PDT by Paul Grein in Chart Watch

The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s Valleys Of Neptune enters The Billboard 200 at #4, putting the rock legend back in the top five nearly 40 years after he died at the tragically young age of 27. No other artist has cracked the top five this long after his death. Elvis Presley is in second place. His Elvis: 2nd To None debuted at #3 in October 2003, a little more than 26 years after his death.

Hendrix is the second music legend to make the top five posthumously in the past two weeks. Johnny Cash bowed at #3 two weeks ago with American VI: Ain’t No Grave. But Cash died less than seven years ago. It’s more remarkable for an artist who died four decades ago to make significant chart waves.

Valleys Of Neptune is, incredibly, Hendrix’s 34th posthumous album to make The Billboard 200.

Hendrix was a star for just three years, from June 1967, when he played the Monterey International Pop Festival, to September 1970, when he died in London of a drug overdose. The guitar hero had four top five albums in his lifetime. This is his third top five album since his death. It follows The Cry Of Love, which hit #3 in 1971, and Crash Landing, which reached #5 in 1975.

Four of Hendrix’s catalog albums re-enter The Billboard 200 this week. 1967’s Are You Experienced? bows at #44, followed by 1968’s Electric Ladyland at #60, the 1997 compilation First Rays Of The New Rising Sun at #63 and 1968’s Axis: Bold As Love at #67.

Experienced? first cracked The Billboard 200 on Aug. 26, 1967. It was only the 10th highest new entry of the week (!), opening at an unimpressive #190. The album took 59 weeks to reach its #5 peak in October 1968. This week’s debut of Valleys Of Neptune gives Hendrix a nearly 41-1/2 year span of top five albums.

  19. whole tour! Says:

  20. whole tour! Says:

  21. sumodie Says:

Valleys of Neptune sounds sweeeet!! Makes me want to grab the remastered versions of Jimi’s first three albums.

  22. SillyWilly Says:

    Morning, all!

got a couple inches of snow, here. nothing major. feeling bad for those of you who got hit real hard.

i thought we were turning the corner.

  23. ohhphee Says:

Yeah, it was agonizing this week being at work during that beautiful stretch

of weather, knowing there was snow in the forecast this weekend.

But you’re right, El Dude about Chicago. Longer winters than most, in

    the US, at least.

Good morning! Yeah, good point. Others got it worse than we are.

    Is it still snowing there?

  24. gavinsdad Says:

serious, thoughtful, over my head, convo last nite boys. good show.

gorgeous day here as well. kids pulling in one direction, my need to powerwash my house and deck pulling in another…i think the grill tonite will be the anchor (nice willowed) and some beer. yes, beer.

see you in Raliegh>Charlotte El Dude 🙂

  25. whole tour! Says:

The Dude seems to have lucked out!
Getting phish in both Raleigh and Charlotte!
that’s hitting the the show lottery right there folks!

    i’ll be there…with bells on!
any suggestions of places to stay in raleigh or charlotte?
