I don’t think so. I keep watching it over and over (about 20 x’s) and I don’t hear a “you”. I hear “island”. Do you have a copy of it and basing this on a review of the scene, or are you basing this on what you watched last night? I am not trying to discredit you; I am just trying to think best. I hear two syllables and not one, after he says “happen” and it really sounds like “island”.

  2. southbound Says:

well, I looked on Lostpedia, and they recap it with him saying “you”. I don’t know.

  3. TJC12TJC Says:

At least that’s what I thought he said. Though no one in the alt reality has ever mentioned anything about the island as far as I know. Right after he says what ever it is – he reveals that he knows about jin and sun and that sun’s father wants jin killed so i thought he said “about to happen to you.”

  4. southbound Says:

I went through some threads and people are arguing back and forth. I have a copy of it . After rewatching it many times, I REALLY believe he says “island”.

  5. southbound Says:

Ben mentions the island to his father while he is taking care of him.

  6. Greener Blues Says:

    @southbound
which makes more sense in the context of the scene “island” or “you”? Jin and Sun’s storyline has nothing to do with the island at that time

  7. Snigglebeach Says:

    Best lines of season…

Sawyer: what do you need a boat for, can’t you just turn into black smoke and fly your ass over the water?”

Flocke “do you think if i could do that, i would still be on this island?”

Sawyer ” Nooo, cause that would be ridiculous.””

Prob funniest moment ever on this show. Love how they can make jabs at their own writing.

Jin is central to the show. Way more than anyone has thought. Even after last nights show, i see very little written about how involved he is. Never, NEVER killed anyone on the island, turned around into a helpful loyal guy, and spent 3 years following orders doing Dharma stuff that just might have been important. Seeing Desmond at the end, and calling it the “Package” may have been a way to distract us from some of what was already on the table.

  8. TJC12TJC Says:

^ They have been doing that all season. Last week, when Richard went nuts saying – we are all dead and in hell. This was a big theory since the start of the show. A bunch of people thought the island was some sort of purgatory. Then Ricardo laughed in all of our faces claiming they were all dead. It was a nice slap in the face to that theory.

  9. Snigglebeach Says:

I keep thinking somehow they got a wrap it all up quick. so here goes, Flash-sideways everyone somehow ends up at Locke’s wedding. during the ceremony a Comet crashes on them, they end up on the island.

And everyone sings, Killed by a comet.

  10. sanchothehutt Says:

Southbound–when I watched last night, I thought Keamy said Island as well, but I just watched \the scene again a few times, and he definitely does NOT say Island. He does mumble, “what’s gonna happen da ya, I can’t have you freaking out.” The string of “da ya, I” makes it sound like he says Island, but nope. Case closed.

  11. Mr. Completely Says:

“Desmond being back in play is very big. I think he is probably key in connecting the two universes…”

    yes.

It was a good episode. They just don’t have a lot of time left for many more eps like that. But I liked it. More screen time for keamy = good…

re: slow paced, I definitely thought it was, in the sense that we kind of knew a lot of what was going to happen with Jin and Sun b/c of seeing Jin in the freezer…it had to go a certain way…so I think they could have paced those scenes much faster and still said everything they needed to say.

Not hatin’ though. It was good, just not great.

Why would widmore bother to lie to the MIB about Jin?

  12. Mr. Completely Says:

“It was a nice slap in the face to that theory.”

yeah last week I compared it to the old ep where they play with the theory that it was all in hurley’s head.

have there been other examples? directly addressing fan theories in the plot?

  13. Mr. Completely Says:

or the moment when Miles complains that no one ever tells anyone anything, that was funny

  14. neemor Says:

“another weird thing that maybe only I noticed. Ladies, forgive me here for a second. ”

I, like Jack, dug Sun’s Tomatoes!

  16. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

my favorite line from this episode was when Lapidus quipped to Miles “says the guy who communes with the dead” in response to Miles’ disbelief that Sun could lose the ability to speak English.

  17. sumodie Says:

  19. KWL Says:

yo, lost heads! i’m caught up and ready to join the party!!

which is actually not that great, since i now have to wait for every remaining episode. crappy timing by me!

skimmed through a lot of these lost threads, though, very insightful stuff and has added a lot to my appreciation of the show. hurray geekdom!

  20. Lycanthropist Says:

    welcome KWL

we need to get some real discussion goin on over here before the show ends.

Let’s talk about all things LOST, not just current episodes…

  21. Lycanthropist Says:

whoa i just had a revelation

Remember when Jacob said to Richard that he feels like he shouldn’t have to step in and interfere?

His whole point was to prove that man has the capability to be inherently good?

What IF? The ALT timeline is his ultimate test of that theory. The COMPLETE absence of influence by EITHER party (Jacob or MiB).

And the characters decisions that they make in the ALT time line will be a major factor for the fates of the Original Timeline.

  22. halcyon Says:

Finally have caught up and ready to join the discussions. Look forward to skimming back and reading some of the earlier discussions.

  23. (Formally Known As) BrandonKayda Says:

That’s very interesting @Lycan. But does that mean the ALT time-line was supposed to happen? As in their destiny was already set to blow up Jughead and set off the alternate reality which would then determine the fate of the “original” timeline.

I’ll have to re-watch the last two episodes and keep that in mind.

This show is too goddamn smart for me llfa

  24. Lycanthropist Says:

    @BK

    exactly!

It was shoved down our throats that it was crucial that they go back to the island and that they had a destiny

I dont think its any mistake that Old Hawking and young Hawking made sure both in 07 and 77 that Jack and Co were there to blow up that bomb.

i think that is part of jacobs plan.

To let the human souls speak for themselves with out any outside influence.

Look how good most of the characters are doing in the ALT timeline.

    Jack found peace with fatherhood
Sawyer opened up to a friend and made steps to let go of his grudge
    Locke is accepting his disability
    Ben made the noble choice

This all happened within weeks of 9-22-04 in the ALT line
In the original timeline most of those characters are still searching for these revelations.

  25. Mr.Miner Says:

And the characters decisions that they make in the ALT time line will be a major factor for the fates of the Original Timeline.

^ explain. I keep thinking the ALT timeline will be the “real” ending to the show, but something needs to happen to jump back in time to allow that to happen.

The ALT timeline is REAL…so the producers say
