Weekend Nuggets: New Year’s Run ’94
DOWNLOAD OF THE WEEKEND:
When thinking of New Year’s Run ’94, people generally think of two things – The Providence Bowie on the 29th and Tropical Hot Dog Night on the 31st. While the odd numbered nights may have stolen history’s spotlight, the 28th and 30th are two shows that routinely get glossed over. Philly’s “Mike’s Groove” and, more specifically New York’s “Tweezer,”nights brought some of the most engaging music of the run, while “Reba” and “Stash”provided first set highlights, respectively. Enjoy the weekend, and best of luck with the rest of the ticket chase.

so, it may have been talked about or mentioned in the past few days, but what are the chances still of a festival the weekend after jones beach? i’m not planning on going, but i just want jones beach ticket prices to go down, which i know they will if a festy is announced
Waves is one of the more GD sounding tunes Phish has ever done. furthur should be covering it.
I safely predict that TTE will played many fewer times in 2010 than 2009!
Scoop Palmer
unreal re: Eagles
Dyda- Big fan of 20 years Later. I thought the version in SPAC that followed the numberline was real good. It actually has some similarities to Saw it Again IMO. TTE will be played at least 50% less this year in my estimation (based on nothing)
who plays Jerryaoke in Dark Star Orchestra now?
any good?
ocelot and alaska are totally dead-sounding also.
furthur! hells yeah. i’m stoked that i get to see them this summer too. it’ll actually be kinda amusing cause they’re headlining allgood14 (check it out) and dark star is also there, but now kadlecik is playing with phil and bobby. WSP is the other headliner, but i honestly don’t care too much about that.
Robear- granderson just homered in his first Yankee at-bat.
jeff mattson has taken the jerry spot in DSO.
i totally called that TYL at SPAC (and the llama opener). and yeah that’s why i mentioned saw it again cause they do sound similar. also got to hear them soundcheck ‘twenty’ at alpine 2 while talking to a red wings fan in a brock samson t. was actually kinda neat being able to tell people who couldn’t place it what song it was and how to listen for the ‘saw it’ progression.
if anyone hasn’t seen the movie “Rock Star” with Mark Walberg
and you find the fake Jer conversations interesting, its great
he gets the call up to be the lead rock star of the band he idolizes and has a cover band of…..straight cheese, but very on point
Since, for me Easter is really about Love, I’m sending out some Love to Robear and Jacy, Butter and V, Leo Weaver and E, KWL, El Dude, Halcyon, SheDivdes, Tele, Llamalee, GP420, Verno, real-deal Twix bar chef (whose screen name and real name evade me at the moment), BigJig, Stupendous (all of whom I’ve met or had contact with), Miner of course, and all the rest of you cool cats who add spice to my life.
Butter – isn’t that movie about the real thing from Judas Priest?
Whaddup guys? At a bar surrounded by Yankee fan watching the game. Balls. Homerun for first at bat. Cmon.
back at ya Marshall
don’t know the Judas Priest thing
but what i do know is after watching “Hurt Locker” on my new surround system i won’t be going to the movies very much more
(not that i did before , but this solidifies it)
when those bombs where going off…….holy shit
Sorry. Am on my phone. Last post was on the other name and I didn’t notice. Few beers deep, go figure.
Also, walked past Marc brownstein on the bk bridge. Said “sup yo?” and he looked at me like do we know each other? And we both looked back.
Miner, if you talk to him you can tell him he doesn’t know me.
aww yeah and the way that movie ends with him all burned out pulling a fan out of the audience who is out-singing him … full circle, man … whoa
@dyda: totally down for 20 yrs later. That tune stuck with me in Philly and had good placement.
I also would take another sleep again.
Not ashamed to admit my lack of round room and undermind commitment. But I have really come around on scents, waves, and oceansing. Would love to see them slotted in more so some of the classics can be held back a bit
That’s awesome Butter. subwoofer and surrounds make all the difference. Good for you!
Ps: philly 09 birds!
Scents was my fav new song while following in 03/04. Loved it. Kept saying they were gonna save it for MSG and when it happened I started to wonder if they really do read our site. Mango then scents. Faget-about-it. Haha.
Just jumped back on. I really like Pebbles & Marbles when its played well (no flubs).
Birds was good but how bout that Reba? Then Harry, mango, mikes groove, slave? Damn night one smoked.
Also, antelope night 2, I lost 2000 calories dancing and burned a dance hole in the concrete floor.
They said the earthquake today was felt as far north as Seattle.
my mom got ‘Round Room’ for me for easter. Found it at a dollar store!
Granderson is the mack. I’m bummed the Tigers lost him.
back atcha’ Marshall. Jacy is hanging tough.
