Thought you all would enjoy this totally amazing video channel I found yesterday. Dude’s quality is the best I’ve seen by an amateur.

  3. garretc Says:

    Wow @EH!

I watched the Golden Age vid on that youtube link, that’s some awesome video! What got me the most was the sound though!

    Great find!

  4. Exree Hipp Says:

Garretc – Watch the Portland videos from 11/29/09. Amazing. He even zooms out for the lights at the right time. The 2001 vid has to be the best amateur video ever made for the song.

  5. garretc Says:

Haha, I was just gonna check in then hop in bed, but you talked me into the 2001 vid @EH!

    Here goes…

So I got to listen to the whole first set day one of The Great Went last night, along with the Wolfman’s->Simple from set II while working last night for the first time

    Those shows are incredible!

  7. garretc Says:

Aight @EH, that was definitely worth staying up for!

Yeah, I just listened to the Great Went in the last week or so as part of my festival listening project! Heat! I’m very much enamored with the end of day 1, specifically Limb By Limb through the end of the encore… Knocked my socks off!

    Good night!

  8. garretc Says:

Oh yeah, and BK, when you get the chance, watch some of the videos in the youtube channel Exree Hipp linked to up in the first post! Awesome!

  9. Exree Hipp Says:

When I saw them play the second set of 8/17/97 I thought I had just seen the band peak for good. That 2001 simply would not let up. I have since changed my mind but still consider 8/16/97-2, 8/16-97-3, and 8/17/97-2 a few of the sets for all time.

    L is for LOVE.

“That (went) 2001 simply would not let up”

@exree: totally agree. we were getting the F down during that tune…dance party USA

  13. kenny powers Says:

thanks Exree Hipp! Just added it to my subscriptions.

  14. lastwaltzer Says:

I know most people can’t stand “My Soul” but I LOVE the Simple>My Soul,.

  15. Willowed Says:

    Good morning folks!!
    Make it a great day!!

  16. nonoyolker Says:

Back to the grind, make it a good one!

Saw a bunch of nice condos in my neighborhood. Checking one joint again after work today. Getting poised to throw down and grab this place before it gets snatched up. I’m a little apprehensive as I started my search on Saturday, but this place feels right.

Papa yolker is going to be in the area Tuesday, so if we still dig the place, hoping to get the old man’s seal of approval on the endevour. He has grown man knowledge of window fixtures, heat pumps, etc. that i just don’t understand.

Anyway, jam of the weekend: Timber – 7/26/97. Ish was on repeat. Check it.

Went Wolf > Simple transition is sublime. One for the ages. Love the clip from Bitersweet of Trey during Simple. Great guitar steeze.

  17. SillyWilly Says:

    Morning, all!

    hope everyone is doing well!

  18. Lycanthropist Says:

    Silly –

sorry I left you hangin last night…

wife came home after being gone for three days, and well we had some “catching up” to do.

Anyways, yes we did blend a lot of styles, but Funk was the theme of the night.

Most of the musicians that played are members of funk bands around town.

It was kinda selfishly fun Saturday, because I was the biggest “name” of the show.

The rest of the kids were up and coming artists for H’burg’s local scene.

It was nice to be able to help them out in a way, and hell I had a great time doing it.

  19. Lycanthropist Says:

haha that “re: superjam” should be before the blending styles comment…

as it stands it looks like I was talking abuot blending styles with the wife..

which I guess isnt all together untrue.

  20. marcoesq Says:

morning all, congrats to lefty and his fam…what a win!

  21. Lycanthropist Says:

    hell yeah…

that shot from behind the tree to the green was straight up ridiculous

  22. marcoesq Says:

yeah man, ballsy shots all weekend. He looked like he was in champion form

  23. marcoesq Says:

Just downloaded this ’97 show from Saturday? Can’t wait to dip in!

Lovin this Ghost on today’s JOTD, it was one of the first “2nd generation” Ghost intros and the jam really reflects that, IMO

  24. marcoesq Says:

Also, this JOTD twas the night before the MPP>Va Beach run which was sublime

Left for VaBeach at 2am after the Merriweather show, let my friends drive my car because I was so faced off of L that I was falling asleep….

Woke up at 7am to the sound of my two buddies freaking out/laughing because they had just ran my car out of gas on the side of 64

Got out of the car in the (7am) 90 degree heat and pondered what to do…while we were waiting, no more than 10min after the car ran out of gas, a state trooper pulls up and runs this tube out of his engine and almost fills up my gas tank!

Now the rest of that day would be filled with much more unpleasant stories involving Virginia’s finest but this was a nice way to start the day

  25. BTB Says:

3 strips of bacon on my toasted head,
2 over easy on a roll and I’m fed.
