morning all. took a comouter sabbath yesterday. didn’t turn it on all day. missed you folks, though. things are good in the tosh household.

phish related: listened to some 12-05-2009 yesterday. good show. great sally, and I really enjoyed the antelope — “run like a naked guy out of control”

  2. JerZ Says:

I listened to “After Midnight Reprise” from Cypress yesterday for the first time since Cypress. I was floored. I remember Miner saying a while back that it was his favorite jam of that night and have been meaning to give it a listen.

Wow. I totally forgot how great that was. It is one of the best pieces of Phish improv I have ever heard

  3. kayatosh Says:

Said it before, i’ll say it again: Please add Gordon’s song “Grid” to the phish repertoire.

After Midnight Reprise is hands down my favorite jam of the night as well

I remember one of my buddies befriended a taper before we left Cypress so I was actually able to get the CD’s pretty quickly but I didn’t remember that jam at all

Wasn’t until a few months back when KP did his work that I really got to discover that gem

  5. SillyWilly Says:

    No worries, Lycan!

You had much more important things to do than explain to me how the Superjam went.

That sounds pretty cool, though. I really wish I could have been there.

I’ve told you this before, but I admire what you do tremendously. Art helps make life livable. When humans create they are reaching one of the highest orders of existence, so your calling in life is truly noble.

    Happy Monday morning!

Had a great game of disc golf with T3 and friends yesterday afternoon. Pretty cool that BB has transended Cyberspace.

@Kayatosh, glad to hear things are well in the tosh household, and I do agree that Grid should make its’ way into a first set someday.

  7. Lycanthropist Says:

    ha yeah Silly

now if i can just get these damn Nirvana licks down… 😉

I wanted to start working on getting a camden night one. Looking for a pav. I saw a few pav offers on the ticket exchange board. any thoughts folks?

  9. SillyWilly Says:

Im trying to come up with a Kurt Cobain joke, but I better not go there.

  10. neemor Says:

Wow, this Ghost brought me back in time.
I wondered what Miner meant by ‘whirling’, as I’ve listened to this one before, but taken out of the context of the set it’s much clearer.
    Good way to explain it.

    Morning, all!

Great Masters yesterday, one for the ages…

    2 months ’til tour!

    @ nono

When we were looking for a place the agent said we’d know it was the right place as soon as we’d walk in and sure as shit she was right. So I’m guessing barring any crazy mechanical/plumbing problems the place you’re looking at is the right place.

    @ btb

Is that sung to the tune of STFTFP?

  12. bhizzle Says:

just re-read and sounds like oysterhead

  13. neemor Says:

kaya, send an email to someone on the exchange that has a Camden pav.
    See what you get back.

@Silly, Regarding art; I was thinking about art yesterday and what is the purpose of art. As an artist myself who struggled with combining artistic expression with my everyday life I have thought about this quite a bit. To me, art is simply imagination that becomes manifested through action or expression. Life is art and everything we do can take on an artistic form. The key being that it starts in ones imagination and is then expressed through manifestation. Typical forms of art are music and painting but I feel the art of parenting, the art of business, the art of sport, the art of meditation, etc.. are all just as meaningful. The more pure you are in your expression of your form the more brilliant and meaningful your art is. In a way, artistic expression of life is the key to realizing ones true self.

@ Marco – that is an intense story about VA po-9. I’m not sure many other people have shared in that kind of good fortune. Nice story man!

@ Kayatosh – yes, ‘Grid’ is the jam! I was very happy that they included ‘Invisible’ (my favorite leo & mike track) at Indio. Hope that makes it into full rotation. Also hope they keep ‘Middle of the Road’ in play. Seems like a sign of a good show (busted out only at Gorge and Hartford). Great tune.

    MOrning to all!

how the hell is it monday again?

Rewatched the first disc of IT (documentary) this weekend,

Trey sounds so nasally sick and looks so old,

his face while playing is always that open mouth drool

starring into nothing, now a days is always a conscious smile.

Glad he cleaned up his act. Fishman & mike always look the same to me.

Cant wait to hear what 2010 will deliver!

  17. nonoyolker Says:

@ bhizzle – yeah man, that sounds right. It’s just a huge decision, with a ton of money and responsibility involved, and I want to be certain – but i got a great feeling walking in and so did mrs. yolker. Was seeing other places all day and kept thinking back to the one that felt right.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. Stuff like that will push me to pull the trigger. Big ups

  18. jdub Says:

Love Middle of the Road and Invisible. And I hope Page’s Beauty of a Broken Heart gets some play this summer. Did they play that other than Hampton last year?

  19. [Not Tom] Marshall Says:

I was there for the JOTD. A buddy and I went to the Atlanta show the night before, the next day we drove the 5-6 hours from Atlanta to get stuck in Raleigh traffic. Missed WITS but caught Drowned. We hung out in the lot afterwards and then drove all the way back to Atlanta, getting home around 5am.

I haven’t listened to a note of the show since. Thank you Mr. Miner!

  20. nonoyolker Says:

I think Beauty made a few appearances last year. Dig that track too. That whole solo album is underrated, but i dig Page’s cheese tracks. The mad scientist can hit the high notes and make a song cry.

  21. Stupendous Says:

    BOABH was played at indio…

  22. BTB Says:

Oysterhead. One of my favorite lines.

Neemor – 60 days till Tour? What tour? Who’s going on tour?

BTB Fest update – My ladyfriend just finished the Poster Art work for the event. I’ll put it up on my BTB Tab in a minute.

Check out my BTB tab for the Mike Gordon Bass Rig update (hint – *ting*)

  23. Stupendous Says:

I like Gone and the rework of Sleep Again as well as Invisible….A LOT!!!

  24. [Not Tom] Marshall Says:

every time someone types “nono” I can’t help but think of Doc Ellis …

  25. Cushion Convector Says:

@ Kaya…I am a huge fan of that Sally (esp the vocal jam) and everything that was played after the first set cavern (which was assumed to end the set) felt like a delightful treat!

JDub- I find much worth in your sentiments…agreed

    Happy Monday everyone!
