@Robear : usually I hang to the left, geographically in the middle(Chicago). Going to Toyota and Deer Creek for sure. Might throw a party before Toyota as I’m only about 15 minutes away. And yes, we will hang I hope.

@llama : no, not with horns. Maybe it will change my mind, but a lot of what I like about Phish are Tom’s lyrics and that song has such a lack of effort for words that it makes me sick. Stick to the guitar Trey.

    DP 15 is Englishtown, NJ.

    I have that one!
Not gonna give Mr. Miner that one when he can get it at Best Buy

Winterland. What a name for a venue. So is The Omni. And The Centrum. And The Forum. And The Greek Theatre. And the Garden.

I hate all the changing corporate venue names today. Verizon this. Verizon that. something bank center. etc.

those names are profanity to my ears.

What’s your price for flight-in finding mr right-it’ll be allright-TONITE!!!1

    Good point earlier @robear

Being around different groups of people tends to activate different selective pools of vocabulary. Out of general politeness I don’t utter too many “vains” around strange folk, just to play it safe. I hope that when I do let them slip, they choose to bite their tongue sheerly out of the benefits of avoiding an awkward situation including potential overcompensations of non-religious “fuck!” and “balls!” utterings.

That being said, the only things in this world that offend me are hate, violence, and the thought of Phish covering Sister Christian.

  8. EL Duderino Says:

    I was thinking either…

    5/15/77 St. Louis Arena or

    6/08/77 Winterland Arena or

    10/11/77 Lloyd Nobel Center

  9. SOAM Says:

Toyota could be renamed by then…’My brakes don’t work and my accerlerator is stuck so im in park’ park is more appropriate no????

  10. joe Says:

The Centrum is now the something corporate arena/center whatever. providence civic center is now the dunkin donuts center

  11. llamalee Says:

@ el dude, thanks man. maybe these shows will spark me to start listening to the dead again.

  12. SOAM Says:

dig it Beepa..that guy is heavy metal plant-trying to gauge interest in a Night Ranger reunion tour….

  13. Robear Says:

soam, we needed you all morning!

bingosbrother, thanks again for that poem the other day. i cut and paste. i’m going to print a copy for my friend to give to the band this summer. they’re playing from a place of love. don’t think we’re on schedule for a summer meet-up. you’ll have to head west for the fall shows.

I remember when they broke into ‘Shine’ on new years. we’re thinking ‘they’re not….’

  14. JWP Says:

I agree about the venue names. I remember when Philly used to have the Vet and the Spectrum. Now, we have three corporate buildings all named for dickish financial institutions.

By the way, I dig the Greek/Latin vibe of the venues you name…Omni (Latin for all), Forum, Centrum (Latin for center), the GREEK theater, etc. Very cool.

  15. beepaphone Says:

I mean I wouldn’t want Phish to taint the sanctity of such a delicately brilliant song is all.

  16. SOAM Says:

If you want to start listening to the dead again-listen to any Standing, Stella or So many roads from say 93-95-they may have not been killing shows but those songs are the real deal and for keeps-talk about emotions…boy…oh ..boy

  17. JWP Says:

Night Ranger reunion tour…you mean they’re broken up!?! JK

  18. EL Duderino Says:

    @ SOAM

Don’t forget the Visions of Johanna

Ghost > The Final Countdown > HYHU

    The runes sayeth so.

    Or not.

  21. JWP Says:

I think the China>Rider (and just about all of the 2nd set) from Autzen Stadium 8-21-93 was a nice one from that era

  22. beepaphone Says:

  23. fatbastard Says:

I understand half of SOAM’s post but I agree with the last one.

  24. BingosBrother Says:

My pleasure Robear. Hope it made you feel better. Would be a dream come true if they got to read one of my poems. We’ll hang eventually. More in common than you know. My 12 year old has had 3 open heart surgeries in her lifetime so I’m in a unique position to understand your struggles. Sounds like you’re both doing great so far, but everyone needs a little lift sometimes.

  25. EL Duderino Says:

    “‘Standing’ from 3/16?/94 in Chicago”

I went to all of those
