I try not to watch the previews for next week. Just like a show, go in with no expectations.

I do however miss the recap shows beforehand with the pop ups. Wish they would show the DWTS BS another night

  2. Mr. Blood Says:

I actually predicted Desmond being thrown in the well the minute I saw it. That should be interesting…

  3. Aquaman Says:

Thank You posternutbag——-loved that nice touch as well!

  4. Guy Forget>Piper Says:

Off topic….but, I like to watch the special effects on slow motion. Last night, the dynamite going off was great. A sweet Hurley gut shot, and the dominoes of people falling down…I can imagine someone on set yelling, “NOW! DIVE DIVE DIVE!”

Was the hell is the timeline on the island? Is it pre atomic bomb going off, is it after, or when is it? Also, I am trying to establish the Desmond and Hurley off island timelines, and can’t figure out if those are happening concurrently with the island times, or pre or post.

Did Desmondo run over Locke for what he did on the island, or because he knows what he will do? When you look across the season’s, I can no longer tell when is when anymore.

  5. Guy Forget>Piper Says:

Also, that submarine like shot in the season opener spanning over the village and statue under water….was that a future shot. I just got a Herbie Hancock song in my head….”FUTURE SHOCK”

  6. Lycanthropist Says:

    ok guy.. here it goes..

the off island scenes are an entirely different timeline where none of the events on the island happened.
my theory is that the split starts in 1977 when Jughead did/didn’t explode.
in any case its an entirely different reality. In this reality the island sank sometime before 2004.

the on island scenes are the original reality where nothing has changed. It is the story we have been following since Season 1. The present time in this story is 2007. And the Island is not underwater.

What we are seeing happening now with the onset of Desmond, is a blending or crossing over of both realities

  7. Guy Forget>Piper Says:

Do you think Jack uses Dharma pomade? I’m a Dapper Dan man myself, and would have the hardest time using something other than Dapper Dan.

Funny how he is the only one with a different hair style over the course of the series. And when do they all shave? Faces, arm pits, legs?

  8. Lycanthropist Says:

well Guy you gotta keep in mind that the Ajira flight crashed only 10 days ago..

  9. Lycanthropist Says:

    http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/File:Timeline.gif

probably will confuse you more than help but here ya go

  10. Lycanthropist Says:

that only covers the events that transpired in the original timeline..

none of the ALT timelines apply to that graph

  11. Guy Forget>Piper Says:

While we’re throwing stuff out there, if you haven’t caught Fringe, that will garner most of my attention once Lost ends. That show is phenomenal and another JJ Abrams gem. JJ Abrams is like THE Bruce Dickinson, they both put their pants on one leg at a time. But the difference is once their pants are on, they make gold records.

  12. [Not Tom] Marshall Says:

Dammit T3P0 – you beat me to the punch re: The Human Fund. I was too groggy this morning to mention it.

Loved the reference. Had to pause the recording and explain it to my wife … not because she cared, but because I did.

  13. Billy88 Says:

A real stay away from the tnt episode. I love the satisfied smile on the boy’s face when he knows he’s making MiB uncomfortable. Good bye Ilana, i think her most interesting statement was if Lapidus was possibly a candidate. Which still might be a good question.

The old school WW tune for the preview was a great pick. Wilder.

I am still confused about the Desmond driving over Locke in the ALT. Isn’t Locke the original, not MiB…..and he just tried to get everyone to think differently about what the island was. So why run him down?

  14. Darkstarblaze Says:

Fringe is the best show on TV right now besides lost, really pushes the envelope. Last nights show was good, I thought Desmond would put up more of a fight since he seems to be the linchpin.

  15. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

I think the key with Alt Des is that he is doing things to get the other Flt. 815 people together. Who do you think will be the spinal doc they tap* to look at Locke?

    *yes, that was intentional

  16. Lycanthropist Says:

remember that near death experience can also “turn you on” to the original existence. (i.e. – Charlie’s choking on the plane led him to his realizations about the original timeline)

I think that Desmond had a few possible motives for running down Locke if not all them:

    – Pushing Locke to realization by having a near-death experience
    – Get Jack to realization by operating on Locke
    – Transfer some of Locke’s goodness into the MiB

  17. Lycanthropist Says:

and don’t think for one minute that Desmond is dead.

I am pretty sure he knew that something was gonna happen with Locke and just put his faith in it, that he will be where he is supposed to be.

  18. ohhphee Says:

Desmond is definitely not dead. Just banged up.

Why he ran over Locke in the ALT timeline, I do not know.

I think that it’s got less to do with Locke becoming MIB than anything else, such as some of the things you mentioned, Lycan. It just seemed to me an awfully brutal method of awakening Locke.

  19. [Not Tom] Marshall Says:

So, in the alt universe, Desmond remembers everything that he “knows” from the original timeline …. interesting.

  20. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

remember that near death experience can also โ€œturn you onโ€ to the original existence

as can kissing your crazy-almost-girlfriend-who-is-really-dead, apparently.

  21. KWL Says:

des running over locke: i have to go back on this but didn’t the overhead shot of locke’s bloody face look a lot like an overview shot of locke’s bloody face post plane crash in season 1?

(or was it when he was thrown out the window by his dad)

  22. KWL Says:

it really sucks waiting a week for each episode.

wish i would have planned a head a little better.

hey miner, can we get a lost JOTW? ๐Ÿ˜‰

  23. KWL Says:

to what degree to we believe in and/or think these characters are doing ‘good’ or telling the truth?

    richard
    michael
    whidmore

  24. KWL Says:

michael said he can’t get off the island b/c of what he did

could it possibly still be his choice to be on the island, say, for karmic purposes?

i.e., he is not trapped by something outside of himself (christian told him he could go now, after all), but cannot leave b/c he won’t let himself leave–until he makes up for it in his mind? (i.e. he can’t leave b/c he is setting things right while he has the chance… or should i say *choice*)

  25. Mark Says:

LOVED last night. It’s about time for the shitstorm that will start next week.

And the Seinfeld reference was great–my girlfriend, who is NOT a fan of Lost, is a walking Seinfeld encyclopedia. Really, it’s uncanny. ANyway, I rewound that scene just so she could see it, and now she’s actually considering watching the show from the beginning with me. BAM, just like that.

Oh, and she’ll be attending her first ever Phish show at Alpine in August. There might be hope left for her ๐Ÿ™‚
