    spinning the new MGMT on lala right now…ummmm…really sounds like it’s from the mid-60′s to me after the first few tracks. kind of interesting, I guess. I needed to clense my musical palate with something newer. not sure this was the right choice but I’ll stick with it for now.

  2. joe Says:

    didn’t realize Gorillaz had a new one. (or that Coachella was going on right now) That’s next. Today is try to keep one ear to the new day for me I think. Suggestions?

  3. pagesidehighschool Says:

    Joe, you’re a beantown boy right?, check out Township, they’re based out of Allston, and they rock!

  4. joe Says:

    will do. I’m so out of the local scene loop these days. Used to hit some live music a few times a week about 10 years ago. These days, I’m lucky to make it a few times a year.

    mornin’ pholks

    wish I would have known about that Leo/Jerry show gus went to last night (I’m assuming it was up here in Boston). that sounds like a wonerfully musical evening.

  6. KWL Says:

    today’s kick start jam: disease>have mercy>disease 11-12-94

    have a good one y’all!

  7. SillyWilly Says:

    Morning, all!

    Buy one, get one free yesterday at my favorite record shop. Working through Joe Gibbs and the Professionals: African Dub All-Mighty Chapters 1 and 2…and the LivePhish 04 6-14-2000 Fukuoka.

    great day of music.

  8. Skyballs Saxscraper Says:

    Re: 6.14.00 Fukuoka, during the first set… is that the audience calling out requests or is that Trey telling the band what’s next?

    Recently added Relaxin’ With the Miles Davis Quintet and Cannonball Adderly – Somethin’ Else to my collection, both are superb. Everyone needs a little Miles Davis once in a while.

  9. SillyWilly Says:

    I know what you’re talkin’ about Skyballs, but Im not quite sure what was going on.

    and you’re right Miles Davis is medicine for the contemporary soul

    review of albums so far: Gorillaz, Plastic Beach. Thumbs up, although I have always been a fan. Kind of mellowish, electronica’sh. Best way to play it may be as late night/early morning come down music.

    MGMT, Congratulations. Thumbs medium. Title track is pretty good, rest is ok. probably will never listen to it again (thanks for the free listen LALA)

    Morning Everyone…

    Hope your weekends are great. My final night shift for the week is coming up followed by 4 days off. Midnite can not come quick enough!

    T3PD … What droid phone did you get recently? I am eligible for an upgrade, and thinking about geeking out to a droid phone.

  12. Robear Says:

    miner, just cued the ‘Bowie’ up on the headphones, coffee in hand.

    Glad my incessant blathering is paying off, and you cats are enjoying 7/9/03. Several base clearing Grand Slams!

    Kaya, nice call on the 11/14/94. Enjoyed reading your posts, can’t wait to hear 2nd set feedback. One of my and TIIIPO’s favorite shows.

  13. Skyballs Saxscraper Says:

    @Robear

    Well after hearing that I just have to grab it now.

  14. Leo Weaver Says:

    Morning folks! Hope you’re Sunday weather is half as nice as it is here. Got coffee in cup, greens in bowl, and ’94 Bowie madness in headphones…what a way to start the day! Y’all have a good one…

  15. Robear Says:

    @ miner has done it again. That ‘Bowie’ is the stuff dreams were made of……or nightmares.

    a win-win!

  16. SillyWilly Says:

    I would love them to push some Bowies this summer.

    it’s been awhile.

  17. Leo Weaver Says:

    Yeah, they really attack the composed part of the one above…Fish keeps the pedal to the metal so to speak. And Trey’s work is fluid.

  18. gus Says:

    @type iii – the show was in derry, nh which is about an hour away from me. it was so incredible, it was this high school theater that seated 800 people, and i was in the second row.

  19. lycanthropist Says:

    maybe this bowie will help me rekindle my love..

  20. EL Duderino Says:

    Happy sunday Morning folks :)

    Late start today.
    Got the hippie speedball goin’ as well.
    Clifford Ball 1 on the headphones.

  21. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

    @halcyon

    I’ve got the Droid (the full big dog one) and I know others on here have other models (I think el dude rocks the eris). I have found it to be a pretty great experience thus far but a lot of it is figuring out which apps, etc. work for you. I can give you some tips/help if you do go the droid route.

    so I defy any one of you to tell me that the following does not make for a pretty perfect Sunday morning after a late night of drinking, bane, and talking phish with friends:

    Hippie Speedball>
    Bacon Sandwich*>
    Blackboard Catch Up>
    Bane the Day Away

    *Cream Cheese Jam

    Try it. You’ll see.
    Mike + Duo Uber Foam is my soundtrack right now. 8)

  22. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

    @gus
    that’s pretty awesome. seeing Leo and Jerry play up that close must have been amazing. those are two of the best at their craft you’ll ever get to see and having them grace the same stage for an entire show must have been great. would love to hear what they played. who’s got my source?!? :D

  23. Lycanthropist Says:

    @T3PO

    no doubt as soon as i get done here at the bakery that is my exact plan

    but add an encore of “Rehearsal”

  24. EL Duderino Says:

    @ Halcyon

    Yep I have the Droid Eris.

    The “Special Lady Friend” has the Moto Droid.

    They’ve been great for us. If you have Verizon I’d wait just a little longer because the word on the street is that Verizon is getting the i-phone. So you might want to wait just a bit and compare them both side by side. I do know thw AT&T’s exclusive contract is up this June and Verizon is doing a network/system upgrade this summer.

  25. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

    @Lycan
    just don’t skimp on the Bacon Sandwich. really sets the tone for the rest of the “set”.
