Ten Tunes For Friday
Don’t look now, but it’s almost May! Summer tour sits but six weeks away. Until then, we’ll continue celebrating Fridays with Ten Tunes. This week’s playlist features diverse selections between ’93 and 2000. Enjoy the jams and the weekend!

“Tweezer” 12.31.93 II
I hadn’t spun this “Tweezer” in a while – wow! A top-notch jam that opened the second set of New Year’s Eve features some straight up funk stylings fused with the balls-out energy and precision of ’93 – a devastating combination.

“2001 > David Bowie” 10.27.95 II
This deep dive into darkness features a furious opening half with Trey speaking in tongues, before the band resets the jam halfway through.

“Split > Buffalo Bill > Makisupa > Rift” 10.29.94 I
This ending of the first set features some point-on improv and great transitions from the band in their last show before Halloween. (We’ll count this selection as two songs.)

“Ghost” 11.11.98 II
While the “Halley’s” gets most of the attention from Van Andel ’98, this second-set closing “Ghost” is one of the best of the tour.

“Stash” 8.28.93 I
This first-set version from Phish’s tour finale features some mind-bending, full-band interplay.

“Bathtub Gin” 9.29.00 I
The impressive first-setter gets into some infectious grooving, offering, arguably, the best jam over the band’s last Vegas stand before hiatus.

“Free” 11.9.98 I
This chunky first set version from UIC 98’s third night became an instant classic.

“Reba” 12.7.95 II
A phenomenal version from one of the stronger shows of December ’95.

“YEM” 6.9.00 E
On Japan 2000’s opening night, Phish dropped this swank, laid back encore in Tokyo.

I was at the 1996 Mifflin St. block party.
(see 1996 riot:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mifflin_Street_Block_Party)
Me and my boy were on some serious fungi, watching what was easily the biggest fire I have ever seen and decided to GTFO when Chad’s started throwing bottles at firemen. Went back to a dorm for about 1 minute and decided we were bored as shit and went back. Started walking across the street and got about halfway when my Spidey senses started tingling and I looked to my left. There was about 10 feet between me and hundreds of pissed off cops in riot gear standing in formation. My look must’ve set them off, for it was then that they started marching. And it was then that I started running, back to the boring dorms of safety. Eat mushrooms and go sillywilly. Go.
@voopa
Thanks!
@Bingo’s

The end of lala.com.

@neemor
that truly sucks.
I wonder if they could go the pandora route and place small advertisements?
It’s 3:30 now, and I have not done anything today.

Later folks!
“Only people that want to talk to me about Phish lately are women. ”
you win.
^ Yup, that marked the last time I could feel sorry for Willy for being in law school
Serious market talk guys! Nice. I’ve slowly built my portfolio up in the last 5 years since I’m a stay at home mom. This is how I’m saving for retirement. This is also the only way I make money to buy fancy stuff for me and the kids. Public education doesn’t pay my hubby much.
I’m a long term investor. Try to stay on top of things and sell when I think that the time is right, but usually use the profits to jump right into another stock that is beaten down that I know will increase. Got GE at $8, since I knew it would only go up from there. Trying to look at long term needs and spending trends. As the economy improves, consumer spending will go up. Overall my portfolio is up 38%, which is not bad considering a few years ago I was 45% down.
Hey, Dr. Pro,
Just thought of this…dont know if I asked you already, but Im planning on going to Jones Beach…Are you going to be there? I know you’re in New York.
