Ten Tunes For Friday
Don’t look now, but it’s almost May! Summer tour sits but six weeks away. Until then, we’ll continue celebrating Fridays with Ten Tunes. This week’s playlist features diverse selections between ’93 and 2000. Enjoy the jams and the weekend!

“Tweezer” 12.31.93 II
I hadn’t spun this “Tweezer” in a while – wow! A top-notch jam that opened the second set of New Year’s Eve features some straight up funk stylings fused with the balls-out energy and precision of ’93 – a devastating combination.

“2001 > David Bowie” 10.27.95 II
This deep dive into darkness features a furious opening half with Trey speaking in tongues, before the band resets the jam halfway through.

“Split > Buffalo Bill > Makisupa > Rift” 10.29.94 I
This ending of the first set features some point-on improv and great transitions from the band in their last show before Halloween. (We’ll count this selection as two songs.)

“Ghost” 11.11.98 II
While the “Halley’s” gets most of the attention from Van Andel ’98, this second-set closing “Ghost” is one of the best of the tour.

“Stash” 8.28.93 I
This first-set version from Phish’s tour finale features some mind-bending, full-band interplay.

“Bathtub Gin” 9.29.00 I
The impressive first-setter gets into some infectious grooving, offering, arguably, the best jam over the band’s last Vegas stand before hiatus.

“Free” 11.9.98 I
This chunky first set version from UIC 98’s third night became an instant classic.
***
“Reba” 12.7.95 II
A phenomenal version from one of the stronger shows of December ’95.

“YEM” 6.9.00 E
On Japan 2000’s opening night, Phish dropped this swank, laid back encore in Tokyo.

good to see some positive feelings about the movie. I’m not going until Monday. By then, I might be the only one in the theater. Beautiful day today. Too bad I’m stuck at work till 4. At least I can open the windows.

Saw a cat jump off a roof deck last nite in Philly. 4 story drop. It lived. Easily rocketed into the top 5 most f’d up things I’ve ever seen.

Good morning BBoard, what a perfect day in the northeast. My agenda includes a steam train ride with the little ones and perhaps a movie this evening. Have a great one.
@Gdad, cats are amazing creatures.

Saturday May 1. Sports Super Saturday. 136th Kentucky Derby. Playoff Hockey, Playoff Basket Ball, Baseball, nascar, and Mayweather v. Mosley. If you can’t find something to enjoy, you just don’t like sports. Have to run out try to get all my work done by 1, So have a great day and enjoy.
yo, what up peeps? got my c + b and am torrenting the 10-29-95 show set II from bt.etree.org. any thoughts about this show? I was at the 10-27 and 10-28-95 shows. 10-27 was incredible, hockey arena trip out.
nice kaya,
another BB attendee for the noah ark show. aka hockey arena trip out.
what up robeara? kalamazoo, wings stadium — like a mini hampton. memorable show, although the memories are fuzzy.
Good Morning Everybody. Having a nice mellow morning after yesterday’s wackiness. Felt real fuzzy for a while after my 10′ roof spill, and the lightning strike but all seems to be coming back together now. Luckily, and thankfully there was minimal damage to the house. Only lost one circuit in the house, which will require some work, but not as much as feared. One thing yesterday reminded me of is to put my intentions to the universe to give thanks and love to friends and family.
Have a great weekend!
just cracked the eyelids. entering the ‘storm has passed’ section of Harpua out here. Looking to dust off the tractor and mow the fields.
that k-zoo show was a game changer. ‘wow, these guys have a dark side’ type of night.

Good morning, BB!
happy to report that there was a nice showing from Wisconsin peeps last night at a Phish3D showing in New Berlin, WI – a suburb of Milwaukee.
Theater was 2/3 full…not bad for a Friday night I think. I was also pleasantly surprised by the amount of females in attendance.
seems like Im meeting more female phans lately…love to see the sisters gettin’ their groove on!
another reason we need FreeWilly at the WW booth.
ladies man……
this transition form maki to bowie is sublime. reminds me of the dark washy washy ambient effect they employed at the time. psycha-delic-phishy
95 baby
note to self: blast a killer bowie the day i turn 40 (less than two years away)
@Robear
environmentalism is sexy.
95 is way before my time. I’m more of a 2.0 phan.
How about a walls of the cave
That shit rocks
good call kaya,
less than 3 years away.
bouncin’ fan, you didn’t miss anything. lots of intense jamming and crystalline inter-play during 1.0
freaked people out, as they were trying to separate themselves from DMB and Blues Traveler.
Why seperate from dmb. There early stuff is good. They just get s bad rap. Like sci.
