Hey folks… Real quick reggae reminder.
Click my name to stream the roots reggae radio show.

12-6-97 – I’ve sid it before. That show was a life changer for me. Walked out a different man. I have ok copies, but nothing great. I, for obvious reasons, would love to find a great source as well.

  3. flarrdogg Says:

Garret- Thanks man. Paul’s remaster is what I’ve been rocking, but it still sounds way low to me- especially when stacked next to many of the other shows from that tour. I’m no sound expert (and I didn’t stay at a holiday express last night), but the recording sounds extremely quiet.

Why is this show not a LP release? I have been wondering for a LONG time. My hair was on fire the entire second set. I love Dayton 12/7, but Palace certainly trumps that show (IMO).

  4. flarrdogg Says:

    LJ- great minds.

@ selector! thanks for the heads up…almost forgot about the roots tonight!

  6. flarrdogg Says:

flarrdogg and luther justice should be on the live phish archival release committee.

The next night in Dayton is a LP release which is frustrating. I’d love to have 12/6 with that kind of quality. I love the Dayton show, but didn’t think much of it while at the show itself. I think my mind was still blown from Detroit. Plus, after the 12/6 show, I spent over 4 hrs lost in the Detroit suburbs on L. And I had lost a brake on my trusty Dodge Colt on the way to Detroit. A perfect storm for a mind blowing show at the Palace by the Phish.

    GDad….

11-22-97…listened to this today and this show is FIRE!….Non stop from front to back, even the bouncin at the end was good :-0

    Stup
Longmont is suburbia, right between Boulder and Ft. Collins. Mellow downtown, lots of tech, and Pharma in the vicinity, plus McChurches. Much more affordable than Boulder, but there is no night life. Nightlife = Boulder, Denver, and Ft. Collins (esp when school is in session). Mtns = super mellow livin

  11. halcyon Says:

    Stup…

You are close to a lot in Longmont….Close to Lyons (home of Oskar Blues Brewing), rocky Mtn Nat. Park, Boulder, Denver, Ft. Collins. However, it still is cookie cutter subrurbia. You will do better living in Boulder and working in Longmont….but that is what I would do if I were living in the Front Range.

  12. flarrdogg Says:

LJ- Similar experience. Was at both. Thought 12/6 was the better show. Hence my frustration that 12/7 got the ‘official release’ treatment. Not hating on Dayton at all- great show. I would just like to know how it gets decided which shows are released? More importantly, why am I not consulted first. I’m not short on opinions when it comes to identifying hot shows. 8)

It does seem strange there appears to be no stellar copies in circ. Who doesn’t want us to have a stellar copy? What do they stand to gain by it?

  14. BTB Says:

I’m SLAMMING 12/29/2009 at the moment. Never listened to anything but the tweezer.

    Flarr and others…

These are three albums by Davis Rogan and his band/collective All That. The Steve Zahn character
(DJ Davis) in Treme is based on Davis Rogan who helped David Simon in writing/creating Treme.

  16. Chuck D Says:

I don’t think Longmont is quite as suburbia as Haly makes it out to be. It certainly has a new sprawling area that is booming because Boulder is too expensive, but it has a little Main St. area and some historic areas with homes that are a hundred years old. (I knew a girl who lived in one) And there’s a Left Hand taboot!

I think I’d recommend Ft. Collins… and I typically rep Boulder. I have a buddy that just moved there, following his girlfriend, got a job in about a week working for the parks dept.

  17. Chuck D Says:

^^ housing in Ft. Collins is about 1/2 of Boulder.

  18. flarrdogg Says:

On that note, where’s my heddy 11/22/97 release that haly mentioned? I would give a testicle for a multitracked officail release of that beast. My theory (that I stole from Mr. C)- this tour is retirement fund for the boys. I just wonder if the demand will still be there among the non obsessed, casual fan if they wait too long. Bring on the whole damn tour!

  19. Stupendous Says:

    Thank halcy!
My drummer friend that moved there
not too long ago seems to think I would
love it there, pretty close to boulder as
    I understand…
Anyway, long story short, he has sorta
extended an invite to put me up in his
place for a few months untill I could get
settled… Since me & my lady friend are
no longer together, and I have no close
    friends in the area…
    I’m leaning towards trying it…

Anyway I’m sorta in limbo right now
not thinking clearly, so thanks for the
description! I’m a graphic designer and
musician, so maybe bolder would be the
    place….too much SCI??

  20. Stupendous Says:

    of 11/22/97” camp

  21. flarrdogg Says:

beasel- two balls for official sbds of both 11/22 and 11/23 Winston Salem? I say yes.

  22. halcyon Says:

Nah Stup…..CO is great no matter where you are .. and like Chuck D said there is a small downtown, it is cool….there is a killer breakfast joint in Longmont serving up some cajun breakfast, and bignette’s taboot

Denver and Boulder have much to offer as does many other parts of the state

  23. halcyon Says:

There are some great Thai restaurants in Longmont as well. Nepali restaurants are great in both Boulder and Longmont

DUDE!!! you have to hear that 1st set. It was on fire! “The connection” and “Access me” were hands down one of the many highlights from that weekend. good shit.

  25. BTB Says:

WT – Yeah it was pretty good, I’m a fan of any obscure Mike tune.

    I’ve listened to 12/30/09 47 times – i have to admit I’m partial to 12/30

    Later dudes and lurking dudettes

    And so to bed…
