A Blank Space…

I’ve pondered what to write for a while now, and I’ve officially got a blank space where my mind should be. All I can think about is LOST. I’d write a piece on the show, but others do that quite well, and in appropriate places. For today, we’ll have to settle for a jam and a download. Dig into the archives and read a piece you never read before. Thanks for your understanding! To the Light…

Jam of the Day:

    Mr. Miner, that looks great.
    Wonderful selections for today.

  2. Corey Says:

    5.20.10 (20.5.10 if you’re my wife)

Does that look like a date from outer space, or what!?!?

    Reba commencing…

Can’t stop thinking about Lost either. One of the great feats of Lost is this: I am now just realizing I watched 6 seasons of a show not quite knowing what it was about. And now that the last couple seasons, and especially this current season, have clarified that, I’ve started Lost over and it is incredible. Watching the show without feeling in the dark, observing characters and their motivations clearly, etc. It’s hard to tell people that Lost is a 6-season show you have to watch twice. But I’ve come to believe it’s that good. I can’t wait for Sunday. What a rare case of a show going out in its prime on its own terms. Sorry this is in today’s and not yesterday’s thread.

tempting…I’ll probably get to it again eventually, but some things will just be rough. We’re talking over 6000 minutes…and having to deal with Jack and Sawyer’s annoying mannerisms…not to mention that Drive Shaft song…uugh.

  5. Dbone Says:

@ miner – totally respect the blank space and am always amazed that you are able to put something up everyday even if its only a jotd or dotd, if not a longer original piece. That said, I wonder if you have ever entertained the idea of collecting some guest contributions to have on file for days when you have a blank space. I can understand if you want to keep it just to yourself, but I also think it would be cool to see some pieces from the regular posters who are very knowledgable and have different views on the band.

  6. Holger Dansk Says:

Sorry to backtrack, but did anyone else find that on the Hangout Festival download, several songs cut out midway through the song? That’s what I got from the download.

Is there another source out there that anyone knows about? THX

  7. RobAins Says:

Cant believe it took this long for you to draw a blank! I’ve been reading this blog, first thing, every day for 2 years now! Maybe not 2 years, but close. Since waaay before Hapton was even announced. Anyway, great job as usual. Even if you updated your posts on a weekly or twice a week basis, I’d still check every morning to see what’s going on.

i’d love to find another source for TAB Hangout but as of now still only one up on etree. as much as i love most FOBs, this one falls under the not so great category IMO. nearby crowd chatter is obtrusive and the bass kind of overpowered the mics/recorder. still bravo for the stealth taping job…but i still hope there’s another that was taped right near the board 🙂

the sound was so good and clear even if you walked way far back (as long as you were centered)….but i didn’t remember seeing any tapers set up. then again i was pretty wasted.

    THX Kenny

Unfortunately your writing is so well put together that i’ve already read all of your thoughts first thing every morning…! Only about 85 more days until Deer Creek I…!

  11. kenny powers Says:

oh and to answer your 1st question Holger i did not notice any cutouts. you might want to DL it again?

  12. Holger Dansk Says:

Kenny, I’ll do that, thanks again.

Nice Miner! 10-18-94 – My first show!!!! It’s all about the Llama people.

Throw up that Tweezer from Mud Island tomorrow along with the Wolfman’s from 10/31/98! HA!

  14. El Duderino Says:

    @ Mr. Palmer & Fee4zy

Your packages are on the way.

I went to the USPS this morning.

On the way home yesterday I was loving the Reba from 10.31.96. It is beautiful, gorgeous and smooth. And was thinking to myself that I should bring this up tomorrow on the BB. This morning I tune into Miner’s page and the JotD is a Reba…..Let me check that JotD out.

  16. BTB Says:

There’s just something about a REBA jam in the morning – love it.

Neemor (the lurker) and C – What’s the deal with the BB shirts? I have several Waffle House appearances to make during summer tour and I need a new shirt 😉

  17. bhizzle Says:

Also Miner, I don’t think there should be a problem with your blank space. All us phools you have attracted to this site (almost Jacob bringing everyone to the island – sorry to bring the Lost reference) have shown previously that we can create things to discuss with no pushing required. Our imaginations, some more than others, are quite obtuse.

  18. verno329 Says:

Thanks to Lycan and all of you others Lost fans I started watching on Hulu about two months or so ago. After tearing through Seasons 4 & 5 over the past weekend plus the first two days of this week being sick I’m now through the 5th episode of Season 6. I should be able to polish it off by the end of the week in time to watch the finale on Sunday. Really great and I’ll definitely end up watching it again. So thanks all!

  19. verno329 Says:

@Kaveh I’ve got your discs ready for shipping and I just noticed that I don’t have your address…which makes shipping a bit of an issue 😉

Shoot me an email with your address and these can get shipped out today.

  20. Leo Weaver Says:

@BTB…dropping in here before I hit the road. The shirts are underway…technical difficulties (cpu fried just as artist was finishing up artwork) have resulted in a delay. I hope to have them ready for order in the next week or so.

As a teaser…the shirt design was inspired by the Simpson’s blackboard gag in the opening sequence. It includes a lizard as Bart writing the day’s BB setlist on the board. And the original lurker smiley face will be included…

  21. kenny powers Says:

bhizzle – that is one of my fave Reba’s of all time. While it and many ’96 versions may not have strayed too far in terms of exploration i especially loved Trey’s soloing style and the overall slow burn of the jam.

  22. El Duderino Says:

    @ Leo W.

I thought you headed down to GA yesterday?

  23. Leo Weaver Says:

@verno, guyute711, and dude…thinking about having you guys over next weekend (maybe Sunday) for beers and food. Lemme know if y’all will be in town and are interested…

  24. Leo Weaver Says:

@dude…I’m in Clemson SC this morning. Had to drop off the dogs and cat with E’s bro and sis-in-law. About to jump in the car for the next 6 hours…I dread driving thru Atlanta.

  25. lastwaltzer Says:

    Morning All!

Quick question though……….lost is over this weekend?!?!?! I thought there was another episode next Tuesday and then one sunday but not this sunday?!?!?
