A Blank Space…

I’ve pondered what to write for a while now, and I’ve officially got a blank space where my mind should be. All I can think about is LOST. I’d write a piece on the show, but others do that quite well, and in appropriate places. For today, we’ll have to settle for a jam and a download. Dig into the archives and read a piece you never read before. Thanks for your understanding! To the Light…

@Mr. C (if you are lurking)

what do you think about Chris Dudley getting the GOP nod for the governor’s race in your state?

I’m sure the republicans are hoping he’s a better politician than center, but I’m fairly sure you’d be on the flip side of that hope…

  2. PBS Says:

Dudley!!! Haa. Who’d have guessed he was a republican? O wait, he’s got the signature haircut!

On another note, all you BB’ers – I’m looking for some ATL lawns for both nights, if anyone has some. 1 for each date will suffice.

Hit me up at pauls at safetec dot com.

  3. PBS Says:

Errr…should have read back in the thread, seems that’s the sleeper for tough ticket on that leg. Oh well, I’ll do what I can.

@ LeoW – Still rollin’ to the southland to hit Raleigh>Charlotte, and really looking forward to your BBQ gathering.

    @ BTB

Text me at blossom. If I can distinguish my cell from my keys in my pocket, I’ll stub you in if you want to make a round of pavilion high-fives.

Just a thought, but what if you packaged the TTFF as a download to save on bandwidth cost? Or is that too cumbersome?

    I can’t wait for Telluride!

  6. Robear Says:

    howdy team.

    tours closing in.

‘bouncin’ fan’ wants a Sharks victory tomorrow night.

  7. BTB Says:

Beep – txt draft saved 😉

There will be plenty of room in the pavilion as tix houses are going to eat a ton of tickets.

I know like 5 of you cats all have good Blossom pavs.

  13. Selector J Says:

Looking to waste some time? Looking for a place to move with a disproportionate amount of Phish heads?

    Go search “phish” at http://www.google.com/trends

The most fascinating part to me is the regions and city stuff.

Phish is most popular* in these cities:

    1. Albany, NY, USA
    2. Syracuse, NY, USA
    3. Hartford, CT, USA
    4. Rochester, NY, USA
    5. Denver, CO, USA
    6. Madison, WI, USA
    7. Boston, MA, USA
    8. Milwaukee, WI, USA
    9. Elmhurst, IL, USA
    10. Herndon, VA, USA

    Canadian provinces:
    1. New Brunswick, Canada
    2. Ontario, Canada
    3. Nova Scotia, Canada
    4. British Columbia, Canada
    5. Alberta, Canada
    6. Quebec, Canada
    7. Manitoba, Canada

    * Data is normalized by calculating the ratio of searches for “phish” coming from each city divided by total Google searches coming from the same city.

I don’t really understand how Denver is #5 nationally but when you look at Colorado data, Boulder is #1 by a lot, ahead of #2 Denver. Same is true of Mass where Amherst has a huge lead over every other city in the state. Maybe there’s a total search minimum for the national thing?

Unfortunately, most states don’t have enough data to even break it down like that. Still interesting.

  14. HarryHood Says:

    @ Selector

How did Burllington, VT not make the list?

  15. Jtran Says:

Probably not a big enough city

  16. Selector J Says:

Yea, most be a # of searches minimum to crack the national/international list. I wish they were able to show more info for all the states/cities/provinces/countries. It’d be pretty cool to know which Japanese city had the most phish searches per volume.

Vermont does reign in the Top 10 states:

    1. Vermont, United States
    2. New Hampshire, United States
    3. Maine, United States
    4. Massachusetts, United States
    5. Connecticut, United States
    6. Rhode Island, United States
    7. Colorado, United States
    8. New York, United States
    9. Wisconsin, United States
    10. Pennsylvania, United State

  17. (Formally Known As) BrandonKayda Says:

    Hey BB

How are you guys doing tonight?

  18. Selector J Says:

    (d’oh)

  19. Selector J Says:

Doing fine, BK. Need to get back to doing real work, tho.

    Angry adviser awaits at a.m.

    How goes it with you?

  20. (Formally Known As) BrandonKayda Says:

I’m doing good. Been doing especially well in piano lately. I think I’m going to try and audition for Advanced Music Studies in the fall

  21. Jtran Says:

Just started the Bozeman 94 Tweezer a couple minutes ago.

  22. Selector J Says:

that’s the ALO “Montana” version, right?

  23. Jtran Says:

Yes..I think I just passed through that jam at about 13 minutes.

  24. Jtran Says:

A little playlist I just created after browsing the Best Phish Jams spreadsheet and finding a SBD of the Tweezer I was listening to.

    11/28/94 Tweezer
    12/13/97 Mike’s

  25. Jtran Says:

    whoops ^^^^^^

7/23/97 Ghost (JOTD SBD the other day)
