A Blank Space…

I’ve pondered what to write for a while now, and I’ve officially got a blank space where my mind should be. All I can think about is LOST. I’d write a piece on the show, but others do that quite well, and in appropriate places. For today, we’ll have to settle for a jam and a download. Dig into the archives and read a piece you never read before. Thanks for your understanding! To the Light…

Ok so it’s 5:42 miner, er, LA time and I’m up obviously because it’s 8:43 in NJ right now. Got to meet Garretc last nite…we rolled around Westwood in my rental get properly baned, then went to a classic time-warp burger joint called The Apple Pan (highly recommended…been there since the late 20s!!). We shot the shit and I was just getting so stoked for him as his first shows beyond F8 are Camden and MPP and I was trying to convey to him how rad it is that he’s taking an east coast road trip *and* hitting a historic venue like MPP. So psyched for young fans!!! That trip will be one for the history books….

So we also brushed on the topic of dispensaries, and I kiddingly said that I just wanted to roll up on one and just go in to see what they were all about and he said you can’t get in the door w/o a card which I figured. So I get to my hotel and park the car and turn around and my old friend from NYC walks up to me and we’re like WTF?!?!? He’s staying down the road with his family And is at my hotel to meet a friend. (this guy is an amazing OG graffiti writer named, coincidentally, Stash. Google him. He did the Phillies Blunt t-shirts back in 91). He then mentions to me that his friend owns an amazing dispensary, le casa verde, right down the street and he’ll call to get me in there today.

What are the fucking chances of this?!?!?

Just had to share this crazy ass tale…back to your regularly scheduled Phish Thoughts….

Good morning BB, it’s been a while for me as life has pulled my attention in many directions these days.

@Leo, nice to hear that the T-Shirts have a Simpsons theme. That was my favorite idea from the beginning. Thanks for making it happen, as well as thanks to Neemor, T3, and whoever else is involved.

    re: Lost schedule
there is a recap show (“The Final Journey”) starting at 7pm which goes until 9pm and then the final episode (“The End”) goes until 11:30pm. No local news on ABC sunday. additionally, ABC is showing the pilot episode Saturday night.

  9. Leo Weaver Says:

@gdad…enjoy some of that stanky stank for me!

@jdub…I remember you liking that idea. Good to see you back on the BB, it’s been a few days. Hope everything’s going your way.

Alright guys…hitting the road headed for the wilds (and heat/humidity and gnats) of south Georgia. Hope to drop back in once or twice over the weekend…you fellas hold it down.

  12. Leo Weaver Says:

That’s it @dude. Plan is to have the shirts available in several different colors I think…including a 3/4 sleeve option maybe.

  13. jdub Says:

@Gdad, fantastic story. It can be a small world some times. Have fun with your dispensary visit!

I’m sure it’s been discussed but how was that TAB show last weekend? Haven’t had a chance to DL but noticed Miner raving about Plasma.

  14. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

so I’m going to crank up the DOTD this morning if anyone wants to join in. I remember being floored when Mr. Fleck came out on stage that night. Haven’t listened to this one in waaaaaay toooooo looooooong…

I’ll probably be cranking it up around 9:30 eastern.

  15. El Duderino Says:

    sounds delicious

  16. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

good to “see” you! there’s a couple of new tunes from that TAB show that caused a little conversation the other day and a solid cover of “Makes No Difference” along with the normal TAB goodness.

  17. Litteringand Says:

    hello everyone
I have not posted in a while because work has been crazy but it would seem that it has paid off. My company has donated 2.3 million books to partner programs around the world. Our five primary literacy partners are Books for Africa, Room to Read, Worldfund, the National Center for Family Literacy, and Invisible Children.

I was one of 15 people who won a company wide raffle for a TWO WEEK TRIP to UGANDA and SOUTH AFRICA!!! in July. I get to see the impact we are making first hand. Just thought I would share my good fortune with the board. Also wondering if anyone has been in that neck of the woods and has any advice/must see things etc.

  20. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

well, the last episode is 2.5 times as long as a single episode, so effectively you are getting more than 18, right? 😯

I think we need someone with some code writing chops to alter that emoticon to have pie eyes. who’s with me here?!

  22. Pook Says:

Funny how things work out. Just on my way to work this morning I was listening to “Party Time” and thinking to myself that I should go into Mr. Miner’s archive and read his thoughts on the album. I did just that. Thanks Miner!

  23. jdub Says:

I spent Sunday night twiddling my thumbs and maybe reading a book. Was pretty bummed when I learned after the fact about a live stream. That’s what I get for not checking in on the BB.

Hartford is oh so close. Being back on the black has just made me more excited for new music and good times to come around. I’m trying not to build up expectations but damn I am pumped for this summers phish du jour.

  24. bhizzle Says:

Kenny – “i especially loved Trey’s soloing style and the overall slow burn of the jam” – exactly I think I rewound the Reba 3 times in a row. It’s tough to absorb it all while driving and I knew I had to miss something and it tasted oh so good…can you taste a good jam?

  25. KWL Says:

    hola BB

i will join that DOTD listen in t-minus 8
