    (I had to change my email yet again…)

    What up BB?

    I actually recorded a clav/piano/funk improvisation of myself Thursday, and was wondering if you guys wanted to hear it. Any thoughts/comments/criticism(s) are greatly appreciated. Thank you all for listening

    This isn’t me at my best BTW, as I was very nervous to be recording improv for the first time, but I think it turned out alright. I’ll be recording a lot more of these in the near future, so that should be a very fun way to improve.

    Once again, thanks for listening, I really appreciate it

    question for guitar players out there. How does Trey make the backwards sound starting around the 6 minute mark of sand? I’m sure it’s pedals and such but really cool to” do it Live “(in the voice of Bill O’Reilly)

  5. Jtran Says:

    Phil and Phriends 99 run is pretty fun. Meaty, too.

    I spent a little time this afternoon chilling to some phish grass. Curious what other peoples favorite phish grass tunes are, and when do you like to hear them at a show (if at all). Uncle Pen would have to be my fave, the Great Went day 2 set 2 had a great version and placement, as a mid set grounding after sublime versions of DWD and Gin while preceding equaly moving 2001 and Hood. I’m Typically not not a huge bluegrass fan but that one just seemed so fitting.

  7. jdub Says:

    @Jtran, that three night stand produced some of the best post Jerry Dead music. As well some oddballs like My Favorite Things and a killer Prince Caspian. It has been in constant rotation for the last 6 months or so. I love the Bird Song>Terrapin>Disease from the third night, lovely bit of music there.

  8. Jtran Says:

    @jdub
    Just started set 2 of night 1, but I think I’m going to go weed whack and listen to Miner’s Picks from the 91 Horns tour. Burning CDs of the run for my car, though.

  9. Jtran Says:

    Beauty of my Dreams is probably my fav. Phish grass. I love the Oswego 99 version with the Del McCroury Band. When Del tells Trey to take a verse you can tell how happy he is on the tape.

  10. Jtran Says:

    And I don’t know what genre it is really, but Daniel is something I’d love to hear busted out again.

    We’ve got it simpleeeee! ’cause we’ve got a band!!

    Crank it and be grateful!

    13 days…

  13. gavinsdad Says:

    Frankie – you getting to any shows this Summer? do tell.

    @corey – unfortunately not…sometimes i’ll submit a comment and it wont post…last nite i lost a big ass post to the ether. thems the internets.

    I actually enjoyed Dennis Hopper in Speed.

    Dim Sum with my family earlier today in Philly followed by Philly playground time. All of my children are now experimenting with dim sum, which just warms my heart as it was a Chinatown (NYC) tradition with my dad and mom since I was 8 years old.

    Re: Bluegrass tunes. Uncle Pen is burned into my brain….like JTran I love Beauty of My Dreams and I’ve always liked the story in Ginseng.

    @BK – call the Toyo opener son.

  14. whole tour! Says:

    my favorite phish grass: GINSENG SULLIVAN , OLD HOME PLACE, Blue and Lonesome, Long Journey home.

  15. Frankie Says:

    @Gdad
    I’ll be at SPAC both nights for sure and working on making it to Deer Creek and JB… Might be one or the other or both but it depends on the rest of my treeplanting season… we’re stopped now ’cause it’s really dry and dangerous for forest fires… not complaining ’cause it’s beautiful in the city but not so much for my wallet… we’ll see!

    I’ll be couch/ipod touring anyway… 🙂

  16. gavinsdad Says:

    word @ Frankie…hope to catch you leg 2 for JBs….midweek tour closer (er…is it really the closer?) should be a blast. there is a low rumble coming out of NYC about a chartered bus for those shows…keep in touch with Mitch.

  17. Frankie Says:

    Really cool story behind SPAC! (Robear, you’ll like this!)

    My buddy won a pair of SPAC tickets for each night & a bunch of stuff after donating to the Waterwheel raffle that was had in Burlington for the 3D movie premiere… We donated and then again when the hat was passed around…
    He’s just getting into Phish and I wanted to invite him to the SPAC shows anyway so that worked great!

    Turns out the food drive was a success as Waterwheel posted this on their facebook page:

    Once again, your generosity glowed! A giant thank-you goes out to the Vermont contingent for your participation in our Phish 3D benefit. Collectively we donated 550 lbs of food and $1500 to the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf. Way to go! Have a great and safe start to the summer everyone!

    http://www.feedingchittenden.org/

    I believe me wearing my (Robear-blessed) Waterwheel t-shirt helped him in his luck… 🙂

  18. Frankie Says:

    We’ll see each other there Gdad!

    Sick things happen when we ride a bus to the show… 🙂

    88 cents Mangos anyone?

  19. Jtran Says:

    @Frankie

    Do you live in VT?

  20. Frankie Says:

    @Jtran Montreal, Quebec

    Love Vermont though, I could live there no doubt…

  21. Frankie Says:

    I’ll try to make it to Manifestivus this summer and Gogol Bordello/Primus in Essex Junction at the end of july hopefully…

  22. Jtran Says:

    Awesome. I’m in Burlington, good to see a fellow far northerner on here.

  23. Lycanthropist Says:

    So I am gonna be in the Rochester area 7.10-7.13 and in NC for the last week of July..

    would love to do some BB meet-ups if anyone is gonna be around.

  24. Frankie Says:

    Nice! And Harry Hood is in Plattsburgh on the other side of the Lake… 🙂

  25. Jtran Says:

    Awesome. Hope to meet you at SPAC.

    Going out to dinner everyone, have a good night!
