Jam of the Day:
“Bathtub Gin” 6.30.99 I
What will Phish open up summer tour with this year? Back in ’99, this 20-minute excursion kicked off the month-long party.

haha well, once you’ve scammed a few times, you learn to watch for mistakes… not that i’ve ever done that..
@yematt Just be cool about it, we have all done some version of that. Have not seen wrist bands for Pav’s, yet. Not a bad idea.
I don’t even know what the fuck stubbing down is
Can you tell I’m quite light in the experience department
Could really slow the load in down though, having to wristband that many people.
Got a music question:
Im listening to 4/3/98 from the Island Tour. Im trying to exercise my ear a little just to see if I can pick out what yall are talking about…
I’ve been trying to notice when the band forsakes the song structure and is in pure improv.
Who would typically the be last one to give up the song structure? Im assuming Mike or Jon because their instruments typically have to maintain the rhythm.
Is this right?
I also do not know much about music theory or just how music is played.
I’ve seen it done at a few places to keep wooks out of the good seats. I haven’t been to Merryweather since college – ’95.
wristbanding is very fast if done by professionals, very slow if done by your average moron
I have had to supervise both types of crew, it can be a fucking disaster, or totally smooth
Time to bane and veg in front of the other screen. Goodnight BB.
Just print up your own wristbands make sure you reference the X# on the ticket proper, work up a good song and dance and sell it to the meathead sucker working as the gatekeeper.
stub down = you in pavilion, you send messenger with ticket or walk up to the gate and fingeroll it to a friend World B Free style to get your friend in.
Essentially, 2 for 1 in the pavilion.
In my little world, it’s cool if there is space in your row and obvious open seats – kinda a weak move if there are clearly no open seats in your row or you impede on others.
Kangfirmed Aisle Flail-Dancer I post up at the top or bottom of the section and ward off security and vagarants. You must dance-by.
so the archive doesnot have the island run? Seriously? Really?
“so the archive doesnot have the island run? Seriously? Really?”
^^^ prob just that Miner only has the SBDs? I’ve never heard an AUD of the Island run.
“ward off security and vagarants.”
an excellent role to play. Fantastic.
online PH tour busted out an openers chart. Who doesn’t love a good chart!

Even used the “as you can see” . Nice. The economist in me just blushed…
Just finished watching season 1 of Lost today… Took me about a week… Can’t imagine having to have taken a whole year to do it!
Season 2, here I come!
Also, the more I hear Dupree’s Diamond Blues the more it becomes one of my favorite “Set I” Dead tunes… That may or may not open me up to scorn, I dunno, but figured I’d throw it out there!
Oh, also:
LA smog = gorgeous sunsets
The one upside!
Evening everybody. Anyone have a recommendation for tonight?
Anyone out there drunk enough to offer me their 7/3??? Have a 6/19 SPAC pav as trade bait.
Garret, We get to enjoy parts of that here in AZ as well, atmospheric arc and such.
@garretc, why would anyone hate on Dupree’s? It’s a great, great song and was always welcome in first sets. It wasn’t always well played but when it was, it was really fun, much like its cousin Stagger Lee. Love the envelope filter by Jerry – he really makes it quack like a duck on some of those versions.
Would I put it as one of my favorite 1st set tunes? No, but it’s not a bad choice, either. If you said “Mexicali Blues” I might worry.
JtRan Listen to the Eldo(rado) Cafe 10-30-90 I am still on my quest to seekout all of the pre-Red Rocks CO shows. lotsa gold worth mining for as Co has always been a special thing for the band.
I’ll trade BTB’s SPAC pav for your 7/3 Alpharetta
8)
who was it the other night that said they’re collecting and compiling all recorded Rebas so he can decide The One?
evening BB
just got home from taking my daughter back to her mother.
been a great couple of days with her.
I listened to 11-28-97 II on the way home and man is that a great set! That Limb is absolute fire!
I need to check that show out. I’m a sucker for a strong Limb, and BEK has recently seduced me with her big, bouncy ass
