OK all… lurking all afternoon with out a moment to comment.
Always sad to hear about a beloved pooch going to the “big park in the sky.” I have cats who think they are dogs – roll over and rub my belly, fetch stuff, etc… still working on getting a beer from the fridge tho.
Very very funny stuff on the BB today. I can’t tell if I’m anxious or nervous or excited about the Fri tour start. I will be at Blossom only. Saw Toyo last year and had fun despite the strange setlist. I’m confident the boyz will set everything right on Fri.
Gotta call the wife and child now, but I promise a funny story about Blossom ’00 before I go to bed.
Wings fan here, rooting for Flyers! I think it will make a great CHI show!
Phish = in chi town.
excitement level rising

Sorry Palmer. Couple cheaper hotels nearby if you wanna check hotels.com. In cherry hill…days inn on 38, holiday inn on 70. Feet from my house.
Nice @KWL
Those postage stamp size hits will get you every time!
Monna tried to raise me better…

okay, I’m feeling the brown-bottle-flu coming on for tomorrow. Gotta get my tolerance ready for Blossom.
Should I tell my funny Blossom ’00 story now?
Sneven – go for it. I was on the left side of the lawn in front of those ridiculous little speakers they had back then – hoping those are gone.
yes sneven. i was on top of the lawn, directly up from Fishman.
lets go hawkz!
Hello Blackboard. Checking in for second time today (first was on page one). Too busy to check the board much, but will be on this Saturday for sure to discuss the first show.
And, it looks like I am going to make it to nTelos after all. It’s going to hit me like a brick, as I haven’t been able to immerse myself in much Phish lately. Probably best, as it will fill the void that I can’t even tell is there.
Dammit why didn’t I move to the East Coast
I’ve been re-reading On The Road this week, haven’t touched it in maybe 8 or 10 years, other than the big scroll at the IT Festival
“That’s what I was trying to tell you—that’s what I want to be. I want to be like him. He’s never hung-up, he goes every direction, he lets it all out, he knows time, he has nothing to do but rock back and forth. Man, he’s the end! You see, if you go like him all the time you’ll finally get it.
Get what?
IT! IT! I’ll tell you—now no time, we have no time now.”
IT’s about to happen again, and we’re all in IT together
…in like, 1990
What a stinker of a day, why do architects have to design stuff without thinking about how to build it?
Ahhhh… Thanks to AW and Mr. C for turning me onto and sharing Tinawiren and other African music. Just what my head needs right now.
No bane or alcohol for about a week, might go straight through. Probably will with the bane, unlikely with the brews.
Go Hawks.. Haven’t watched hokey since last cup, plan on taking this one in.
Okay, here we go…
In 2000, I worked for a major grocery chain in OH. I made friends with lots of beer/wine vendors, got invited to great parties, and always ran into sales reps at bars in Toledo, who would hook me up with free beers.
So a sales rep gave me a huge, and I mean huge, inflateable football that was supposed to be a part of a fall football display in one of his stores. We’re talking 4 feet end-to-end, with a 3 foot diameter. HUGE.
So we get the idea to take it to the Blossom show. It’s a 2 hr car ride, and adding the traffic delay, all 4 of us are pretty lit up before we even get out of the car. No one wants to take it past the Nazi security into the venue.
My buddy and I get the “bright” idea to start to blow it up in the lot. All 4 of us take turns. Two hour job at minimum.
People pass us in the lot and cheer us on, knowing what we are trying to accomplish. We are boozing and baning the whole time. Laughing hysterically, as good effed up friends do.
So this “w0ok” chick passes by, and stops to look. We offer her to help us complete the “task.” She obliges. Puts the nozzle in her mouth, and commences to inhale as hard as possible, while laying on the giant football. Passes out from lack of oxygen and falls to the ground. Everyone laughs violently, and she gets up and thanks us for the “best buzz she’s had in five years on tour.”
Carbon Dioxide. Good buzz there…
I wish I hadn’t boxed up my pictures in preparation for the move, b/c ther are a couple pics of a lot football game from the show.
We gave up the inflateable, but it still somehow made it into the show and got on stage.
Good times… sorry for the long story 😉
