  2. purplehumpbackwhale Says:

damn, sucks. hope its not too bad. 3:12 am here, wiped from work/weed. time to hit it. high hopes for tomorr.w where is this Ghost?! gotta come tm. just has to. and TTE

  3. garretc Says:

It’s ok though, cause the destination is important enough that I don’t mind waiting!

Ok, maybe I mind at least a little, but yeah…

  4. garretc Says:

Something I would definitely not mind at all, however, is a Ghost tomorrow.

Or a Timber! With 4 shows there has to be a chance of Timber, no?

  5. garretc Says:

Well that’s about as lame as it gets… Turns out my flight wasn’t delayed, they just changed the gate without changing it on the board, and I missed the announcement cause of my headphones…

For once in my life my policy of “Be in the right place at the right time” let me down… Here’s hoping I get on my standby flight tomorrow morning… There’s still hope for Phish for me yet!

    Sigh

I would so psyched for a ghost soon. I think gw’s Sally and light are perfect examples of
the sound phish is moving toward these days, and ghost could go any direction. It could go the way of Sally, and turn into impossibly filthy, sleazy, and plodding funk. It could also take a nod from light and turn into an ominous spacey groove. I loved the way page moved to his Rhodes (?) for part of the light jam, stepped to the front, and quietly played dark and haunting melodies.

Ghost I feel has been the most consistent in quality improvisation in 3.0 I feel, and with the themes and grooves the band has been hinting on, could really lead to a legendary ghost.

Long post, but I love ghost the most. I have a feeling tonights going to be a blowout on the east….coast. Haha.

heading to the airport! see y’all on tour!

i wish I could make it gdad’s preparty, but my time in Philly will be spent visiting old friends most of which aren’t going to the shows. i am going to do my best to hit Leo Weaver’s BBQ though!

can not fucking wait to eat a cheesesteak today.

  8. m00nshake Says:

have fun, everyone! I love Ghost, they could play it every time I see them and I wouldn’t mind at all. Here’s hoping (whilst raising my morning coffee) for a thick, sick, psychedelic Ghost tonight!

  9. hoedown Says:

  13. BTB Says:

KWL – Those pics are great.

Lycan – M2 commented on the moby? ha. where?

Safe travels for everyone headed to NJ

  14. jdub Says:

    Nice pictures @KWL

As much as I wanted to catch a Ghost I like that they held it back. Their song placement seems to be catching a little heat at times but they are doing a nice job of spreading out the jam vehicles, standard rockers, new songs, rare songs, and slow songs. A nice mix every night. Almost as if they are doing a warmup with these tunes so they are nice and polished come the 3rd time around.

My only wish is to see Mikes Groove get a bit of a mix up. Separate them, use a different transition, or something interesting like start a show with
mikes, tease Hydrogen throughout and then end it with weekapaug. I got 2 Mikes Grooves and while they are inherantly ragers I am kind of bored of the typical treatment they get.

This week is set up to be a hot 4 shows with plenty of tunes still not heard yet, some more new ones hopefuly, and the Ghost just waiting to melt minds.

Looking for both nights for ATL, help a brother out. New dad and wife just okd the trip… really want to hit these shows. Albert Walker also looking. Get these bb’ers into the shows!

  16. jdub Says:

What do people think of the new songs? I’m liking them. Halfway to the Moon is an instant hit. That one will go places. Dr. Gabel is a pleasant surprise as it harkens back to a style from their ealrier days, breaking the norm of their typical 3.0 style of songs. I think it has got some potential to get out there. I like Idea as well, plenty of space to rumble within that one.

  17. BTB Says:

    AJ – good luck

7/4 is the easier ticket to find. 7/3 was a real pain in the ass to line up.

Hope you make it – if so I’ll see you there

  18. BTB Says:

  19. c0wfunk Says:

hm lyc = moby? damn had no idea

thought there was a show last night and no spoilered a night off. Well done.

  20. angryjoggerz Says:

Thanks, BTB. bitch of it is that I had tix and sold them, and then things changed and now I have none, but I really want to go and get loose in the south. would be my first southern Phish shows! I have faith in the black board and would really appreciate any help. Thanks, all!

Showtime tonight! Gonna be a big one, maybe, though I dont have any expectations, haha.

  21. Lycanthropist Says:

    Yeah

Miner gave a shout out on the second to last page of yesterday’s post.

  22. Lycanthropist Says:

^^ there is that incessant buzzing again.

You guys hear that. Its sounds like an approaching angry mob.

  23. c0wfunk Says:

pretty crazy they haven’t played ghost again since chicago. Especially considering how good that one was. I wonder when the last time they went this long without a ghost .. has to have been a long time..

  24. angryjoggerz Says:

wow, carry over shit giving, nicely done

  25. garretc Says:

Good morning folks! Take two on arriving at the airport is about to arrive, but, as if this trip wasn’t star crossed enough so far my mom accidently missed the on ramp… Something about Phish shows always seems to throw a wrench in my travel plans…

No matter, the Phish will stll be there tonight!
