@BK
I could not believe you got such incredible shows for your first two. Right place at the right time. You had done more “homework” prior to your first shows than anyone I know. You’re such a Phish scholar, you knew enough to know you were getting incredible shows. That’s why you so deserved to have your face melted. You asked for it and you got it my man. Congrats!
sorry, chef.
shine for a while in this marvelous show.
don’t judge based on that stuff @kaya
how many times something has been played each tour only matters to people like us
this might be a fairly plain show, or it could be fantastic if everything is sharp and on point, even without a signature open jam
my $0.02
for all we know that Walrus stuff was like some Saw It Again style craziness
@ ChefB. i feel for your situation, was halfway around the world when my grandpa died, couldn’t come home for the funeral, but resolved to live it up and enjoy the life grandpa ultimately provided for me, i knew that would make him happiest. so dance your ass off for grandma!
as a general topic: have read the camden>mpp run compared to the magnificence and consistent power of the Island Run. That’s debatable of course, but I do feel Camden>MPP run deserves a nickname… The CaMPP Out? that sounds gay. The CaMPP down? CaMPPer van beethoven, shit i don’t know, i’m still exhausted from, well, the MPP part of it…
FWIW, from what I heard on the stream tonight, The Weekapaug got very open towards the end (into some “Free” type rhythms) and didn’t finish before going into Limb By Limb.
or this could be the biggest clunker of the second half of tour
we just don’t know until we know is my point
Sorry for your loss Chef. I just visited my grandpa in hospice tonight and am preparing myself for the loss. My heart goes out to you.
@ Chef
Real sorry to hear that man.
Thanks y’all. We were close until the alzheimer’s took her real self a few years back
Agree with Mr. C above. And I for one think they have been razor sharp all tour thus far.
those last 4 were great but let’s not start talking any Island Tour comparisons please
that’s just…welll….
no.
not yet.
I know, I know. just havin some fun. the staleness of the setlist cannot be denied though. of course, we’re deep into tour, and it seems reasonable to have that many repeats at this juncture.
you know i’ll be listening tomorrow, if possible (i wonder what the taper scene was like) and look fwd. to hearing some reviews.
Maybe that’s the Mike’s groove of tour?
back to the phish lab tomorrow.
ah @Chef I see
you have been mourning her for awhile then, huh?
I know what that’s like.
Sucks.
@LJ, sorry to hear you’re in the same boat…
the show of life indeed.
@ Mr. C
The fact that people even consider comparing it to Island Tour says something. They were damn good shows.
“the staleness of the setlist cannot be denied though.”
true. what has that, the 5th Walrus so far?
😮
kidding, of course you’re right on both counts (lots of repeats, but some of that is just that it’s late in the tour)
Wouldn’t that be some shit, if down the road we start complaining about the frequency of I am the Walrus.

those 4 shows were great, man
I do think there are big chunks of them that are at that “great phish for ANY era” level, not just “hot for 3.0” you know
but Island Tour is hallowed ground IMO
Phish is coming on strong, very strong right now
but not THAT strong set in and set out
just got out.
best 3.0 mikes groove yet. what a rager.
beautiful reba, soaring hood. bowie was great.
they are ON. but you know this already.
enjoy the southern run, looks like they will light it up.
Thanks Mr. C. It’s been tough for a few weeks. Its hard seeing someone you love who is suffering. Unlike me, my grandpa never even took a drink in his life, so even meds are hard on him.
@Chef
Hang in there my man. I hope the shows give you a little light.

I feel it obvious they are not playing to tour kidz anymore. I feel they are treating each stop as if it were a stand alone type of thing. We have discussed this before, and it just seems like they want to rid themselves of the rats?
cool @skyballs!
glad you dug it!
so there ya go. early report from skyballs — The mike’s groove of 3.0.
alrighty!
If they continue w/this momentum each tour, can you imagine what it will be like by New Years? I have a dream…
