Cue: Cinderella – “Don’t Know What You’ve Got”

Like a parent removing a priviledge, poof, no more SBDs.
AUDs are nice to get the wind noise or storm action or balloon pops or random blathering/exhuberant salutations of concertgoers. With YD I have come to enjoy SBDs and considered picking up a few. Let’s get Page right in the mix as well(nudge nudge, wink wink).

very interesting article on the nitrous mafia

i learned David Gans was a “collaborator” of Garcia’s.

  4. voopa Says:

The SBDs are costing them the cost of a recording truck and at least one more crew member (plus all the equipment, and bandwidth)…they could very well be losing $ on the thing…

  5. voopa Says:

Yeah I learned that too, C.

Other than that, a great article.

“Anyone hating on any Walfredo for the flubbs doesn’t really get Walfredo, imo.”

    so true.

@C, bottom page 39, my thoughts RE your gamehendge idea

  8. Mr. Completely Says:

yeah I saw that….keep in mind I am not a GH guy…but i think it should be the featured Saturday night set, with fireworks and skywriting and trained dancing elephants and a Burble in the shape of the Mockingbird, etc

“i learned David Gans was a “collaborator” of Garcia’s.”

I learned UM is ranked #4 in jambands.

  10. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

lol yeah that would be cool, i think it’s easy to tell i’m not a huge gamehendge guy either

  11. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

    link to this article please

  12. Selector J Says:

    N20 mafia article

  13. Mr. Completely Says:

    #4 with a bullet tho!

the set before GH should be all those GH-related tunes that aren’t in the actual cycle. Llama and uh whatever else it is.

they just need to get it over with and hire me to run the fucking thing. I’ll mack that thing out like nobody’s business. Shit, I’d even listen to gamehendge to get the details right. Once.

  14. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

    thanks selector

C, send them a resume asap!!

  15. albert walker Says:

    Doesn’t work just bad imo

I also love Show of Life. We caught its debut at TAB in Feb and I was certain it would come on Sat (was predicting Tweezer+prize to close tour) but no luck. And no complaints, either. That’s what I said to the dude next to us after the show when he offered, “I was pullin’ for yer Waste, man. I hope it comes tomorrow.”. All I said was no complaints, man; and no worries, it always works out.

  17. albert walker Says:

    Best new poster since ned

    Waste sign guy

  18. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

hahaha best new nickname since ever

  19. Selector J Says:

@voopa You may be right. Phish could be losing pretty big on those sbds considering all of those costs. If that’s the case, I could see the suits arguing for a return to the old (pre-2003) LivePhish format, maybe.

    ‘Waste sign guy’ is hilarious.
I need a photo of it to frame. I’d hang it right above the john.

  20. Mr. Completely Says:

    oh snap

    signage. hah.

    baneage. fact.

just back from philly. work tomorrow. spent some time with my friend steph, her mom and her bro packing up my friend michelles apt in philly. needed a couple pints post to go with that nuttiness. they are old and dear family…do what ya gotta. thanks to this board for related support and for being people who i’ve spoken highly of, even tho i don’t know the bulk of you, this entire summer.

    love some waste…missed it.

saw my boy chris from philly up in here. think some of that BB rubbed off on him in NC. hah.

have a good nite. hood study this week.

    RE: live phish sbds

    if they sell 1000 units / show @ 15$ x 18 shows

thats 270,000$ for leg 1 of tour, that’s gotta be enough to turn a profit (i just pulled 1000 out of thin air , but i don’t think that’s that many)

i know a lot of us are savvy file sharers , but we aren’t the norm i don’t think

i say no way they stop selling them / no way they are losing money on them

  23. butter Says:

even dividing my 1000 units in half

leaves 135,000 $ gross sales for 1 tour, still sayin thats in the black

  24. Andrew Says:

Downloadable SBDs are easy overhead, it’s the ideal business model – make something once and sell it multiple times.

  25. Absher Says:

what do you think it costs per show?
