Weekend Nuggets: The 4th of July

Official Alpharetta Poster

Phish celebrated July 4th with to in Atlanta’s northern suburbs with the third patriotic weekend of their career. Finishing tour with four sets of energetic music, the band created an all-out party vibe for the tour finale. Within the two shows, improvisational highlights emerged in “Bathtub Gin,” “Antelope,” “Tweezer > Slave,” “Jibboo,” and “Piper > Ghost.” Finishing Independence Day with Rage Against the Machine’s ” Killing in the Name,” sandwiched within a comical, revisionist-history “Harpua” narrative,  Phish created their own pyrotechnics for the holiday.

Oooh the baby. These shows are dear to me. I have not given them a relisten yet, but I look foward to comparing the last 4 shows with the Miami run I went to last year. Both blew minds.

  3. SillyWilly Says:

    Morning, kids!

4th of July weekend 2010 goes down as legendary in Phishtory, right!?

Big day in Madison. Farmer’s Market is combined with an Art show. Will be really cool, today.

  4. SillyWilly Says:

We’re not even through summer yet, but the only thing that could follow up this summer is the imminent fall tour and this years college football season.

Saw some of the Wisconsin football players working out where I work out last night.

I really miss playing. Seeing them get ready for the season got me all fired up.

Last year, I had my perfect day. In the afternoon, I watch Dayton beat Marist at Welcome Stadium in Dayton and then an hour later I was on Phish lot for the Cinci II show.

Hopefully I can reconstruct that day this fall even if its not in Dayton.

  5. willowed Says:

I am on this Phish linkedIn page/group and one of the cats posted these rumored Fall dates.
*** Warning *** I have no idea how solid these are. i figured I would post to spark discussion. Again, these are from some other cat.
    10/13 Sedona, AZ
    10/14-16 Las Vegas, NV
    10/18-20 Broomfield, CO
    10/22 Madison, WI
    10/23 Columbus, OH
    10/25 Nashville, TN
    10/26-27 Worcester, MA
    10/29-30 Albany, NY
    10/31 Providence, RI

  6. SillyWilly Says:

If they play in Madison there’s going to a party at Silly’s!

as long as yall want to party in a college-style apartment again…haha.

  7. Mr.Palmer Says:

Those last 5 dates looks like Willowed’s wish list.

  8. willowed Says:

That Walrus video is bad ass. the “space ship” lighting during the feedback part at the end if freakin’ great!!

  9. willowed Says:

I know…..I was hoping for this. Again, I have no idea if these are anything at all. Some kid posted them on linked in so I figured I would share.

  10. willowed Says:

I was born and raised in Providence so that would be epic. My mom still loves in providence. Party at Willowed’s moms house. She’s Italian so we will be well fed before the show.

  11. c0wfunk Says:

    mornin kids..

@silly alpharetta is very much a legendary phish weekend methinks.

I have only listened to the first set of 7/3 thus far. A little hesitant to mess with the memories.

a reminder this is the time for wncw’s great jazz show until 11 am

  12. angryjoggerz Says:

Me likey fake tour dates, I love me some Phish in Madison!

  13. lastwaltzer Says:

    “10/13 Sedona, AZ”

apparently they don’t listen to rage that much……………BEAT!

  14. lastwaltzer Says:

“My mom still loves in providence. Party at Willowed’s moms house. She’s Italian so we will be well fed before the show.”wllowed

  15. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

    Mornin, all!

Time to change the reservations, willowed? 😉

  16. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

Woosta centrum is a 10-15 minute drive from my house. I believe it is a 10 minute walk from sumodie’s

  17. Mr.Palmer Says:

somewhere in the PNW, ZZYXZ is steaming….

  18. El Duderino Says:

Half Italian here on my mom’s side of the family. Mom’s do feed us like were starving but Italian grandmother’s do not care if you’ve eatin’ or not, they’re gonna make a ton ‘o food and you better eat!

  19. El Duderino Says:

Sedona, AZ. is a total pipe dream.

Madison, WI but no Chicago? Very unlikey

  20. El Duderino Says:

    What’s/where’s Broomfield, CO.?

  21. joe Says:

halloween in Providence. Sick times at the civic center. I can’t call it the dunk. and certainly not the dcu center. It’s the centrum. Definitely the 2 cities that I’ve been to the most phish shows at. throw in the boston garden for the trifecta (and yes, at this point I’m trying to rub it in for our friends on the west coast. Look at it this way. at least you get the next show)

  22. El Duderino Says:

Fall tour 3 nights @ Time Warner Cable Center Charlotte, NC.

    11/2 – 11/04/10

  23. joe Says:

for the record, I’m not buying any of the dates post vegas.

  24. jdub Says:

Those are some tasty fake tour dates. A 5 pack halloween Northeast run all within 2 hrs would be just fine with me. Inlaws live in Columbus>means fall visit perhaps.

The most interesting one is Sedona though. An energy (chi) hot spot combined with fall tour opener could create some fireworks.

  25. lastwaltzer Says:

I believe broomfeild is northwest of denver
