Weekend Nuggets: The 4th of July

Official Alpharetta Poster

Phish celebrated July 4th with to in Atlanta’s northern suburbs with the third patriotic weekend of their career. Finishing tour with four sets of energetic music, the band created an all-out party vibe for the tour finale. Within the two shows, improvisational highlights emerged in “Bathtub Gin,” “Antelope,” “Tweezer > Slave,” “Jibboo,” and “Piper > Ghost.” Finishing Independence Day with Rage Against the Machine’s ” Killing in the Name,” sandwiched within a comical, revisionist-history “Harpua” narrative,  Phish created their own pyrotechnics for the holiday.

yeah fella’s, don’t forget to put the Red Rocks ‘Tweezer’ on the 3.0 Keeper list.

kaya, the 2010 debut of Mr. Completely @ a show??? Not that you need more egging on.

What are tix going for anyways?

  2. jdub Says:

^adjusting my last post. Beat is such a strong word. Those jams are just top tier 3.0 for me.

  3. Jtran Says:

Like your Tweezer comparison. Cool stuff.

I was listening to 7/31 the other day no spoilers style while mowing the lawn…the transition into C and P caught me by complete surprise..total hose. And that Tweezer is raging no doubt.

  4. kayatosh Says:

I’m looking at flights $574 non stop, round trip. 2ndary mrkt. Greek tix going for around $400-450 per night. i’m looking at roughly $1.8K for transit and tix. i owe it to myself. there’s no guarantee that phish does the greek again or does it as well as i believe they will in a month.

  5. kayatosh Says:

this decision is being helped along by a $$ cross eyed jam from 6/24. Looks like i did make it into the second set.

  6. phoammhead Says:

I’m coming out to The Greek shows with a special lady phriend, Robear – would love to catch up with you along the way . . .

  7. willowed Says:

  8. Jtran Says:

If you can make it work, I’d say the trip for $$$ will be worth the $$$ playing, definitely.

  9. willowed Says:

I have never met Robear (I hope to) but I can imagine he is like this big ball of warm glowing energy.
Go to the light…..go to the light, it’s Robear…he will take care of you!!

  10. Mr.Palmer Says:

  22. Mr.Palmer Says:

I owed a friend big last fall. I ended up buying tix (5th row fishman) for 12/4/09 for $220 each. It kinda sucked. Not the show, the money. StubHub was the route i went.

  23. kayatosh Says:

@willowed: that is so funny. b/c i said i would vacuum, while she hustles a 4 and 2.5 yr. old to a b-day party in the rain, and instead i’m talking to you.

  24. willowed Says:

My wife just gave me…You’re on this freakin’ board again? She also said…With all the money you spend on Phish we could have gone on a cruise around the world.
    I said…Shut your mouth women! (I didn’t but I wanted to)

  25. willowed Says:
