I actually overheard someone say “Noobs suck man, you can’t even get Phish unless you’ve seen them like 50 times.”. Good stuff right there.

  2. willowed Says:

I am always reluctant to recruit for the Phish. I am a free spirit at shows. I like to have no restraints. If I go with a buddy who is a first timer, I will feel like I have to make sure he/she is cool/comfortable.

I am Italian, it’s in my nature.

Like my mom…son do you want another plate?
    No mom
    You sure
    Yes mom
    Do your friends want anything?
    We’re fine mom.
    You sure
    Yes, we are fine
    You want some dessert
    No mom
Do you have stretchy pants because that last meat ball was 6 more than I needed

  3. Luther Justice Says:

50 times? It takes a least 60 to get it.

  4. willowed Says:

Whoever said that jdub is a complete jack ass and soooo doesn’t get what this whole thing is all about.
A noob could easily say….Hay old fart, move your grey haired ass, it’s my time now. yours has passed.

  5. jdub Says:

True in all walks of life AW. When you don’t better, listen.

Willowed, got the email. Looks like a solid east coast crew right there.

  6. kayatosh Says:

they say that sant fe is less than 90 miles away
and i got time to roll a number and rent a car

  7. Luther Justice Says:

I know all about you Italians. I watch The Jersey Shore.

  8. willowed Says:

I hope they wouldn’t say that because then they wouldn’t get it either

  9. Mr. Completely Says:

first sign of a nostalgia act is if a band has nothing but old timers going to the shows.

if kids are starting to come top shows in real numbers, that’s the sign of a live scene.

    pretty much that simple.

  10. willowed Says:

^ you preach the truth C

  11. willowed Says:

My mom lives in the same town as Pauly D Luther.

    No joke.

i am a Rhode Island kid

  12. joe Says:

I noticed the difference this year. seemed like more youngsters at the shows than last year. good sign. now we need to get the women back. actually, we had 2 younger female fans crash with us this summer and it was very encouraging to hang with them.

  13. Luther Justice Says:

I haven’t made it to the east coast too see Phish in 3.0, but if you tell me Pauly D is doing a show in RI, I’m on the next flight. He’s amazing on the 1s and the 2s.

  14. kayatosh Says:

10-29-98 check it. great second set. $$$ recording here

debut of the beatle’s something. that’d be a nice one tp bring back.

  15. willowed Says:

Book your flight Luther because he is my show partner this year!

  16. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

“he that’s not busy being born is busy dying”

  17. Luther Justice Says:

I’m on it willowed! I’ll bring him hair gel as a tribute. I love phist pumping at a Phish show!

  18. jdub Says:

Damn, disgruntled worker guns down 8 in CT today. Sorry about the buzzkill.

  19. albert walker Says:

Me and Robear met a real cool younger kid 7/4

    Very respectful kid

Kicked him down hard after the show

  20. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

AW, bring a guitar to deer creek

  21. angryjoggerz Says:

First phish show in 94 and I still feel like a n00b, and i love it.

  22. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

AJ, your noob status will be removed after the greek

  23. Gavinsdad Says:

Noob schmoob….agreed with everyone on this point. I hung with Butters younger bro this Summer and Garretc from the BB. Both young cats, both humble. I hope to have no pretentions…if you’re chill, we chill. I gotta keep my eye out for young peeps, they breathe life into the whole thing.

@luther: you gonna get the JB jones after DC??

  24. Robear Says:

    merit badges,

quickest way out of noob status

  25. Luther Justice Says:

Last year at Deer Creek, Close By had a live band all day leading up to the show. They weren’t bad. A little on the noodle side, but not bad.
