Deer Creek

Following yesterday’s theme, here is the third night of Deer Creek 2000; a dark show to end the run, featuring the first “Curtain (With)” since 1988. Other highlights included the first set “Free” and the half-hour sequence “Piper , Crosseyed” in the second. And it’s pretty tough to beat a “My Friend,” Curtian (With),” “Tube” opening threesome.

I: My Friend, My Friend, The Curtain (With)*, Tube, Heavy Things, Billy Breathes, Beauty of My Dreams. Free, Axilla, The Squirming Coil

II: Birds of a Feather, Piper, Crosseyed and Painless > Prince Caspian, Meatstick

E: Wading in the Velvet Sea

* first since September 24, 1988 (1178 shows)

christ, it just repeats. the furthur site is apparently designed to drive people nuts while they’re trying to check out tour schedules. And who designed this site, anyway? Looks like they hired some high school kid from 1995 to do the layout.

  2. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

phish site used to do that

  3. RamblinOnMyMind Says:

For a while Phish had a pretty tight jam when you’d log on. And a clear option to turn it off.

  4. jdub Says:

I sure fire way to drive people away ramblin. Most people surfing to further’s site have music on in the back ground anyway.

  5. jdub Says:

I think I’m done with Phil and Friends. It just feels too much like a nostalgia act. All his bands seem to blend into one at this point. I love the man and his resurgance with the Q gave me a chance to see GD music as close to the source as post Jerry GD music could be but…

Phish is back. Only other music I can really get into now is as far from the jamming rock type as possible.

  6. Gavinsdad Says:

That takeoff point at 8:30 on the nye 95 Reba just chills me every time

  7. Gavinsdad Says:

Triple P steez tonite: pool, pints, and prerolls.

  8. RamblinOnMyMind Says:

@jdub – Phil can still lay it down, but I agree the approach is kind of getting stale. You could say this to Bobby and the Rhythm Devils as well: not EVERY set of music you play needs to look like it could have come from a Grateful Dead setlist (ignoring the criss-crossing of eras that I guess makes it “new”)

  9. Robear Says:

🙂 likes the Triple P Plan.

  10. joe Says:

  14. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

  15. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

    bueller? bue>horse

  16. angryjoggerz Says:

Man Miner, how many tickets do you have and need? Help Voopa get in on Friday! Everyone in!

  17. BingosBrother Says:

At this point Miner must be asking for tickets and responding to his own requests for said tickets. 😉 Stressful shit i’ll bet, hope they appreciate his efforts.

  18. RamblinOnMyMind Says:

    Fall Tour announceme>horse

  19. RamblinOnMyMind Says:

Hey @BK, what are you spinning this evening?

  20. BrandonKayda Says:

Not spinning anything right now actually – kind of taking it easy for a bit music-wise up until The Greek shows 😀

  21. jdub Says:

Last minute posturing for Greek tix is getting frantic. Telly seems to be more stable considering the remoteness.

Everybody in is the call of the day. Something tells me Voopa gets his Friday ticket last minute and in style.

  22. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

music sweet music i wish i could caress caress

  23. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

  24. Robear Says:

no worries jdub, everyone’s getting into the greek and telly.

  25. BingosBrother Says:
