Deer Creek '00 (Distante)

Following up the last two downloads, this show completes Phish’s three-night run at Deer Creek in 2000. The second set featured, perhaps, the three most-often payed songs of summer in “Jibboo, “Sand,” and “Twist.” The strong playing of the second set continued with “Fee > What’s the Use? > Limb.”

I: Cars Trucks Buses , Wilson, It’s Ice, Bathtub Gin, Buffalo Bill, My Mind’s Got a Mind of its Own, Split Open and Melt, Sparkle, Funky Bitch, David Bowie

II: Gotta Jibboo, Sand, Twist, Fee > What’s the Use? > Limb By Limb, Loving Cup

E: Run Like an Antelope

    Holy Excitement Batphans!

I could not sleep and was up and at’em at 4:30 this am packing for Greek and staging for Telluride.

In the office now tranced like willowed, baned like (insert confessed baner name here).

I hit the flights mid afternoon with the missus into SFO.

The thing is now that more and more of my friends find out I will be in the area, the more options/obligations I am staring at. :Refers to project plan: no agenda except sets 1, 2 and encore Aug 5, 6 & 7.

Working on the NWTP gateway now.

Oh yeah, There is absolutley something spectacularly special about desert sunrises. Eat it, double rainbow!

“On another stat note, I just realized that after this year more than 1/3 of my total Phish shows will have been in 3.0, and I’ve been seeing them since 1994.

It is a tragedy that I was as broke as I was and too scared to blow off college for days to go on tour road trips back in late 90s. Something is terribly wrong with the fact that I only saw 2 shows in 1999, and it was a 2-nighter at the same place.”

    @KP – same-fuckin-thing here!

  6. bhizzle Says:

Also, where is track 4 from?

  7. kayatosh Says:

mentioned it yesterday, but it bears repeating.

10-29-98 new audience source from a renowned taper. $$$, sweet spot tape. extremely realistic sound. like you were there.

  8. kayatosh Says:

those of you off to the greek and t-ride and beyond — happy trails have a $$$ time. i’ll see the rest of you on couch tour.

  9. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

    nice, thanks kaya

  10. kenny powers Says:

    @ bhizzle

    regret’s a bitch, ain’t it?

  11. kayatosh Says:

that 10-29-98 show has a rippin, $$ moma.

  12. Phamily Berzerker Says:

I did leg one from the couch and am thinking I will do no spoilers for all of leg two after I decompress from Berkeley and Telluride.

It’ll be easier because our kiddos start school next week and after Telluride I will need to some extra heavy lifting around the house to square accounts.

that’s a real nice FOB although i think i’m gonna do a personal remaster and rebalance the channels…when i listened over speakers it was $$$ as you would say, but on headphones it’s almost all the way to the left channel.

  15. kenny powers Says:

that may not bother some but i can’t stand that! listen to the u89i FOB of 12/31/99 and it’s like that tenfold.

  16. bhizzle Says:

kp – I never really started regretting it until I went to to get my stats late last year (prompted by this site), going through all my stubs to see what I went to and realizing that I didn’t really hit all that much when really that was the most ideal time to do so, i.e. no kids & no career! ballz! But I still hit what I can granted Halloween shows won’t be in the cards for another 10 years!

  17. punkmug Says:

@Bhizzle. I’m in the exact same boat. I’ve been into them since 93 and my first shows were in 94. To top it off I was broke and not really savvy enough in the mid-late 90s to travel around and see them. I’m making up for lost time now that I can afford to see shows. Its just a bummer, I never a saw any shows between 96 and 98!

  18. kayatosh Says:

interesting, @kp. listening now on the home stereo to reba (a must hear type II reba) and didn’t notice any imbalance. will look for it on headphones. peace

  19. lastwaltzer Says:

There is no time like the present!

  20. BrianR03 Says:

Any way to get a track listing from the “Calm Before The Storm,” really loving this.

  21. gavinsdad Says:

yes, see shows now. i too, out of different personal circumstance, was out of a touring phase early in my phish-going career. basically got a sprinkling per year as opposed to a downpour…but the shows have stacked up over the years, and i’m glad i got to see a little bit over each year. i too am seeing more now in 3.0 per year than ever before with the exception of 1990, my first year out the gate.

really stoked for you Greek peeps…don’t mean to sound like a cornball but leave your baggage at the turnstile…make the music count once yer inside.

Fatbunch – you makin it out???

  22. angryjoggerz Says:

Very good advice, GD, very good indeed. Got lots of baggage as of late, may not even bring it to CA at all. Leave it in a locker at O’Hare.

  23. randomreader Says:

what a post – what a mix of music! thank you mr. miner, indeed. today is the “calm before the storm” for me in a different way – i sit for the MCAT tomorrow afternoon. been studying my brains out for 6 solid weeks, and this music is just what i need to mellow out and keep from getting too anxious. have to confess, i’ve never heard any of these jams before – are they all from Cypress? i’ve put off listening to that show for a long time, hoping i’d find the right time to digest “the set” in its entirety, but it hasn’t happened yet. like lastwaltzer said, no time like the present!

  24. KWL Says:

what up peeps?? excitement level rising
